After Dean left, only Shane and James were left in the office.

James' eyes were red as he stared intently at Shane. Despite the anger and questions directed at him, Shane remained calm.

He intertwined his fingers, placing his hands casually on the desk. His voice was steady without a hint of emotion as he spoke, "Who told you your mother's disappearance has anything to do with me?"

James sneered, "Do I need someone to tell me? My mom came to see you a few days ago. Everyone at Ford Corporation knows about it. She hasn't come home since."

Shane nodded slightly. "I did see your mother, but you should be asking your father about this, not me." With that, he resumed his work.

James, filled with frustration, had nowhere to vent his anger. It felt like punching a pillow. Furious, he turned and left the office.

Shane watched him go, shaking his head in exasperation before returning to his paperwork.
