At ten o'clock in the evening, the car finally pulled up to Violet Grove.

Shane stole a glance at the little girl, her eyelids drooping as if she might doze off at any moment, finding it somewhat amusing.

"We're home, Haley," he announced.

Haley suddenly widened her eyes, sheepishly scratching her head. "Oops, I almost nodded off just now."

Shane's smile softened. "Hmm, you seemed to be in a deep sleep just now, Haley."

Haley blushed slightly, instinctively murmuring, "I wasn't asleep, just on the verge!"

She was just too exhausted to resist.

"Right, my bad. You were just about to," Shane chuckled indulgently, then stepped out of the car and opened the door.

Bob hurried out upon hearing the noise, ready to greet them.

Although the lights were still on inside the villa, the staff had already retired to the other villa for the night, leaving Bob alone on guard duty.

Haley stepped out of the car and greeted Bob with a smile.

Bob glanced at Shane but hesitated to speak.
