Out Of Love

ALPHA SCOTT

I walked around with a racing heart and butterflies running through my stomach. Every bit of happiness and eagerness flustered all over my body, that scent was driving me crazy and it only meant one thing.

My mate was close.

The heat I felt made me uncomfortable but yet it was still a nice feeling, my eyes kept scrutinizing the entire room in anticipation. 

Trudging footsteps were heard afterward. I turned to notice that it was my beta, Leon, 

"Found anything?" I asked my second-in-command in my pack. I felt that I wasn't a lucky Alpha because I have been ruling my pack for years now without a luna.

I had been in search of my mate even if I had agreed to take any Luna even if she ended up not being my fated luna by the moon goddess but I found none.

Meanwhile, my Beta had met his mate two years ago. Her name is Celina, she was a beautiful young lady with red hair. I always wondered how Celina managed to make Leon a softie whenever they were around each other. 

"I have searched all over the pack house but there is no new face apart from the maids around and guards, why don't you check other packs?" Scott suggested. 

"The packing business needs me!" I responded. 

"Why don't you trust me with the affairs of the people and the business while you go in search, you aren't getting any younger and the people need a Luna," Leon said.

I knew that my wolf also desired a mate so much and my finding a mate was going to complete him.

"We have trusted him with our pack so many times and he had never forsaken us, we need to find our mate." Zimba, my wolf mind linked.

"I need to think about everything!" I responded to both my wolf and beta.

"I hope you accept to find her because I know that your mate is out there waiting for you!" Leon simply said before giving me an eye sign. 

Half of me wanted to agree at that moment but was she going to be worth it? There are a lot of creatures In different packs, what if she ended up being a fea, dragon, or vampire?

"We got an invitation from the Midnight pack. They would be crowning a new Alpha and his Luna, I think this is a great opportunity for you to search for your Luna!" Leon added while staring at me.

I cracked my knuckles tiredly before stretching my hands. Listening to Leon talk seemed to be tiring but I knew that he wasn't going to stop whining. 

"What if I don't find her?" I asked while I walked out of the room to get some fresh air, the echoing sound of my pack soldiers doing some training was audible. 

"Giving it a try won't hurt, would it?" Leon questioned while I straightened the hands of one of my young soldiers who was practicing. 

She looked in the range of twelve or thirteen. You all might be wondering why I have female soldiers in my pack. Most female wolves in my pack happen to have strong powers and learning these skills might help in important situations.

I wanted to guarantee myself that my pack members would be guaranteed safety in times of emergency. 

"Thank you, I promise to practice more Alpha!" She said and that had gained the rest of the trainee's attention.

They all slowly bowed their heads in respect. I gave her a little smile before leaving with Leon. 

"So, are you honoring their invitation?" Leon questioned yet again.

"Get all my most appealing clothes ready!" I responded as a smile appeared on his face.

ONE WEEK LATER

I was already dressed to leave for the midnight pack. I was having different thoughts running through my head, was this trip going to be worth it?

Would I eventually find my mate?

I wasn't just going there all alone, I had picked very good and skilled soldiers in my pack to go with me. 

My mother walked in front of me before leaving a soft kiss on my forehead and wishing me luck. 

"What do you think about this?" I mind-linked my wolf who seemed extremely quiet for no reason.

"It's going to be a tiring journey!" I scoffed under my breath after getting no response. 

A sigh escaped my lips causing me to pull away and rub my temple, 

"Maybe you are restless because you can't wait to find your mate and get your virgin self laid," My wolf said in my head. 

"We both know that you are the horny slut!" I responded with a small smirk displaying at each side of my lips.

After working so hard to make my pack the most powerful in the whole nation, I was indeed scared for my mate to ruin everything. 

What if she was weak and choose to reject me? I have never been rejected by my mate and that might hurt me. 

"But we both know that I'm not horny, I'm being considerate of your mother who wants grandkids." My wolf kept grumbling with words in my head. 

"I know for sure that you are longing for a mate!" My wolf said yet again. 

He was right though, I was sure doing great on my own but I still feel an empty space always. If I had a Luna by my side, the most she could do was to look stunning in my arms.

"There are a lot of things that a Luna can do, son!" The words of my mother countered in my head. 

As much as I didn't want to admit it. what my mother always said was true, there were a lot of things I couldn't do.

"Fine, I just hope that she is going to be worth it when we both find her," I said to my wolf. 

"I hope you don't stiffen when you meet her for the first time!" My wolf said in my head with a mix of chuckle. 

I rested my back on the leather chair of my car before biting on my bottom lips. 

"Oh well!" I uttered under my breath.
