Chapter 157 – Charity Auction

The auction was being held in one of the reception rooms at the Plaza Hotel. It was a secret auction, and people could place their bids with a lot number they were allocated on a card, before placing it in the box situated next to the items they wanted.

“We are sitting on table 3 with Caitlyn, Lester, Rick, Jase, Sandy and Beck. I’m not sure who is taking the other two seats” Simone says, scrolling down the list of names on the seating board. “Ugh; it’s Cheryl and Paul. Of course, it is” she concludes sarcastically.

“Is this someone’s idea of a joke?” Richard states coming up behind Emmett and Simone with Sandy. Jason, Rebecca, Lester and Caitlyn walk through the main door behind them.

“They probably saw Peterson and decided to sit us together” Emmett responds, giving a shrug. “I won’t be acknowledging him. Everyone else can if they want.”
