The mystery unfold (part 1)

I looked at the three of them and snorted, “Well, of course you are. You don’t even know me. I will never dream of getting three men trying so hard to save my life.” Smiling at them, I then asked them once again, “Don’t worry, I know who I am, and what you guys are, so, tell me, who’s the person who deemed myself so worthy?”

“Probably it’s best if the person itself tells you everything…” Said Aaron, mysteriously.

I frowned when they seem trying so hard to cover up the identity. “Why are the three of you seem a bit reluctant to tell me the truth?”

Zephyr massaging his forehead, “It’s not because we are reluctant about it, we…”

Before Zephyr could finish his sentence, a man in his forty with a broad shoulder and a military cut came into the dining hall. His brown eyes look directly at Zephyr.

“I’m back, my lord.”

“Ah, Bernard, so, how’s miss Hunt's mobile home?” Zephyr said to this man named Bernard.

I glared at Zephyr, “Tiny home… Not… Mobile home.”

“Yes, like the lady said.” Added Zephyr with a grin.

Bernard glanced in my direction, “Err… the thing is, the rogues make substantial damage to the roof, the main bedroom got destroyed, and…”

“What?! Oh no!” I was panicking. My tiny home was my asset and also one of the precious possession that I have. I stand up and demand Bernard to take me to my tiny home.

“What are you doing?” Zephyr asking me while he sat and hand clasp together.

“I need to see the condition of my house.” I said to Zephyr, I was concerned and need to see it with my own eyes.

Let out a sighed. He looks at Aaron and Elm. “I don’t think she will listen to us.”

“Let me go with her. Both of you need to take some rest now.” Said Aaron. He then took one of the keys in a box. “Don’t worry, Bernard is with me. It will be enough for now.”

“Are you sure?” Asked Zephyr, the concerned on his face is a new kind of expression that I saw on him.

Aaron grab my arms and pulled me away from the dining hall into the front door, he shouted at the arrogant Zephyr, “Yes, I am sure!”

I pulled my arm and glared at him. He smirked and shrugged his shoulder. Aaron tried to use the r*nge rover that I saw before, but Bernard open the door for us on the black h*mmer that he was driving earlier. He drove through the bushes and a rough terrain like a pro. I was pretty sure he was an army veteran from the way he spoke and behave.

“So, how bad was my home? You can be honest with me.” I asked Bernard, trying to initiate a conversation.

Bernard took a glanced at the rearview mirror and informed me, “It was pretty bad, miss, I’m not gonna lie.”

“Oh, f*ck, I just refurbished the kitchen.” I drop myself to my seat and curses excessively. Unlike these three, I need to work hard to get money, working odd jobs, and finally become a rising star in the amateur mix martial arts amateur tournament.

“Don’t worry, our mechanic is the best. You have your tiny home fixed in a short time.” Said Aaron to me. He was trying so hard to cheer me up.

We have arrived at the repair shop. It was a very big garage consisting of four wheels that were being repaired or being modified. There were hundreds of people inside this big garage, and it was astonished to see them working so diligently at this hour.

“What are you doing? Your home was in the private garage, not here.” Aaron called from behind me, and when I turned around, some of the mechanics were looking at me. Aaron suddenly stop and growling menacingly at all the mechanic, “Stop looking and get back to work!”

I was stunned to see another alter ego of Aaron. I never thought the sweet and naughty guy could become frightening to see like this. “It’s okay, Aaron, they were just looking, no harmed done.” I said to him, trying to calm him, and probably saving the poor mechanics around here. Although, I don’t know why they could be cowering with fear just by Aaron growling and scolding like that.

Bernard escorted us to another garage, smaller than the main one, but here, I finally saw my tiny home, being repaired already by four mechanics, that was fast and unexpected, I thought they will neglected it until I came here.

“Miss Hunt, please take your precious items from the house. As for other belongings, don’t worry, we are going to secure it.” Bernard said to me, while opened my tiny home door.

Went inside my tiny home. I could see the damage around my kitchen and through the small hall to my bedroom. It was a wrecked, but when I saw my bedroom, a wreck wasn’t even the right word for it. The ceiling in my bedroom was gone, the bed got destroyed, the custom barn door also got destroyed. I gasped and drop into the floor.

“Noooo… my home.” I whispered while looking around at the devastation that caused by the intruder who tried to kill me.

Aaron came and sitting beside me. “Don’t worry, they will repair it like it was used to be. They are the best around here.” Said Aaron, who was trying to console me.

“We also called for some contractor to come first thing in the morning. They will come to the mans… I mean the villa to talk to you after assessing the damage. So, no need to be sad about something that is already happening. Miss Hunt.” Bernard told me and then gave me some bags. “For your precious items, just the one that you wanted to safekeep yourself.”

He was right. What’s done is done. I took the bag and tried to open my wardrobe; I took all of my clothes, especially my workout clothes. As much as I like these branded clothes, it wasn’t mine and makes me a bit uncomfortable wearing it.

“Hey, should I help you with this?” Asked Aaron, and when I saw him, he was holding one of my sport bra.

I took the bra immediately and glared at him. “You perv, stay away from my underwear!”

“Why? I was just trying to help.” He smirked at me, and the cute fang appear again. I need to fix my preference on man. As soon as he was smiling handsomely, I kind of forgiven him.

“Just… Just wait for me outside. I’ll be quick.”

He shrugged his shoulder, “Be my guess,” Before he goes away, Aaron took my scrunchie on the floor, “Let me keep this one, for a safekeeping.” He said to me with a winked. I just can’t win with this one.

One hour later, after much needed a talk with the mechanic and retrieving my valuables, we are on the way to go back to the mansion. Aaron told me that the mansion belong to Zephyr, it was a brand new building and kind of like a hideout.

“Officially, it belongs to Zephyr Alexander, but it was the pack hideout.” Said Aaron, while he handed me a soft drink from the cooler on the car. A hideout? I need to keep the questions for a while, and will be asking it later.

I shake my head, “Thank you, but I don’t like to drink cola, but do you have ice tea?”

“Ice tea?” Aaron and Bernard say it at the same time. They laughed and look at each other.

“Sir, it seems they have the same taste of drink.” Bernard said to Aaron.

Aaron took a glanced at me, and I can see his eyes begin to soften. He was smiling, “Yes, they indeed have the same taste.”

“Excuse me… Same taste?” I asked the two of them.

“Nothing, just someone that we knew, we do have ice tea.” Said Aaron and then he gave me a can of a jasmine ice tea. It was an imported can of tea, since we don’t have this in the state.

When I open the mansion door, Elm smiling at me, and took my bags from my hand, a cute gesture from him.

“Welcome back, there’s someone here that wanted to talk to you.” Said Elm, he pointed at the hallway beside the lounge room, "Go straight there, into Zephyr’s study room, they were inside right now.” Elm and Aaron leave me alone, they took my bag into the room upstairs and let me go ahead to Zephyr’s study.

I knocked on the door and a voice tell me to go inside the study room. When I went inside, Zephyr introduced me to someone that I already knew for a while.

“Miss Hunt, this is the person that asked the three of us to be your protector.”

I gasped, and said, “Doctor Anne? It was you?!”
