She was strolling down the streets like a ghost, trying to look for the closest hotel.

She smiled weakly. She could not go home in this state, or else Miles would be traumatized.

She grabbed her crumpled pajamas, perhaps with a little too much strength than necessary, and her heart spasmed.

She stood still, hands still on her collar, breathing hard, trying to heal her pain. She did not want to cry, but she could not resist and sob.

Finally, her sobs turned into a soft wail, and then she was crying her lungs out.

She sounded extra pathetic on the empty street.
