Chapter 140

We arrived in San Diego just as the sun had set, leaving the evening streak in the sky.  A two-story wooden house stood firmly in front of us.  Stephanie parked the car in the yard.  There are various types of flowers that are planted neatly.  Of course the owner is someone who likes gardening.

 We went down together.  Stephanie knocked on the wooden door of the house.  Very.  No answer.  Twice.  It was only then that footsteps were heard approaching from inside the house.  The door opened to reveal a man with a thin black beard and mustache.  Looks very masculine.

 He seemed surprised by your presence.

 "Hi. Anything I can help?"  he asked.

 "Hi. My name is Stephanie and this is my best friend Isabelle. Is this really the house of John and Laura, paranormal experts?"

 "Umm... Yes, but we haven't had a practice in a long time. Maybe you can find another place."
