Chapter 5

KEVIN

  I knew she was going to come late considering the type of family that I have. But I didn't think it would be this long. I wonder what Robin is up to now. The only reason why she would be late can only be because of him. The door to my office suddenly opened, she's here. I know even though I'm backing her. 

"Sir... I am back. Amanda told me you asked me to see you." She stuttered. 

I turned around fixing my gaze on her. She looked anywhere but me. I smirked, she's confident I can accept her yet she can't stand my intimidating gaze. How ironic. 

"You came late. Mind telling me what kept you so long?." I asked. 

"I am so sorry sir. I didn't mean to make you angry. I actually gave the parcel to your mother but..." 

I arched a brow. "You want me to get the truth out of you my own way?." 

She shook her head, "No sir. The truth is... I was asked to wait for your Mom because she went out. I didn't want to give it to someone else so I waited. That's why I came late." 

She just lied to me. I know she is because my mother told me she'd be home for the whole day. She's hiding something from me, I'll find out soon enough. 

"I will let this one slide for today, I won't be this nice next time." 

She nodded. She's beautiful and vulnerable. But she's out of my league. That's not the main problem. I can't accept her even if she's an alpha. I made a promise to Nina to love her and only her. 

"Thank you Sir. What is the next thing to do?." She asked quickly. 

"Go have lunch. It's past lunch and I know you're hungry." 

She stared at me like she's shocked. 

"Sir?." 

"Maybe I'm wrong. You're not hungry." 

"Uh... No Sir, I am. I'll be back soon." She hurried out. 

I picked my phone and called my mother. She picked after the third ring, I guess she's avoiding me. 

"Kevin, did you forget to tell me something?." She asked immediately. 

"I've not even said anything mom. What did Robin do to the girl I sent there?." 

She cleared her throat, "Nothing. What did she say happened?." 

"Nothing. I just wanted to confirm from you. I guess she's telling the truth after all." 

"Yes she is. Is there anything else?." 

"No. We'll talk later Mom." I hung up and smirked. 

Robin is so going to get it from me. I will catch him red handed. Let's see how long they can keep lying for him and hiding him from my punishment. 

Robin has always being a pain in the butt. He was always jealous of me and wanted everything I had. Because of this, he became a troublemaker. He beat up people in high school and hurt some girls. 

He wanted the respect everyone's giving to me. He wanted my life. He wanted my throne. He always knew I would be made the alpha King once our father steps down. My parents are the ones trying to control my anger against him. I almost killed him once, they're avoiding that now. 

He also tried to molest Nina once. That was the height of it. Nina did not tell me but dealt with him in her own way. He wouldn't dare try to hurt her, not after I found out. 

"How long are you going to keep standing there?." I asked my assistant who's standing in front of me without saying anything. 

"I am waiting for your order." She replied. 

I wanted to say something but then I felt my anger rising up. Why am I suddenly getting angry?. I quickly checked the date and realized it's the already time. I need to get out of here or better still, lock myself up here so I don't hurt anyone. 

"Are you okay Sir?." She asked. 

"Get out. Leave!." I growled. 

She ran to the door and came back. "The door is locked sir. I can't get out no matter what I do." 

"GET OUT! I DON'T WANT TO HURT YOU!!." I growled louder slowly losing control of myself. 

She's going to die if she doesn't leave now. This is something I have no control over. Why the hell is she saying the fucking door is locked?! Who locked it?!.

"I don't know what to do. I'll hide in the bathroom. There's no way out sir." She said and ran into the bathroom. 

After the bathroom door slammed shut, I got angrier than I was. I had this urgent need to destroy everything that is in my way. I lifted things in my office and slammed them. I destroyed my office in no time. 

"STOP!!!." I heard her little voice say. 

I looked behind me and saw her looking so terrified, "Please... Stop." 

Just like that my anger went down. I started regaining control of myself. I held my head which is pounding hard. 

"Are you okay?." She asked rushing to me. 

"Get me a glass of water." I said. 

She rushed out and returned with some water. I took the water from her and poured on my head. The headache went down almost immediately. I'm used to this as this is a normal routine. 

I pulled off my suit and shirt. I looked at Sia who's terrified, she's thinking of leaving. Because she's so scared I will kill her one day. 

"You can't leave me." I told her. 

"No please. I can't stay anymore. I've seen enough on my first day. Please I want to go back." She begged. 

I shook my head in disapproval, "You're going nowhere Anastasia." 

She began to cry, "You just tried to kill me."

"I can't kill you." She looked at me confused, "You're the only one who can tame me. I can't kill you. You can leave me either." 

I saw my phone which is still in good condition and called Amanda. 

"Why is the door to my office locked?." I asked harshly. 

"I'm sorry Sir. I had to do this so you wouldn't hurt anyone." She replied. 

A few minutes later, the door opened and she rushed in. 

"Sir, you need to leave. I'll get the office fixed. You can go rest." She said, then she looked at Sia. 

"What are you doing here? I warned you not to come here for now, didn't I?." 

I stopped her, "It's alright Amy. Let's go Sia." 

I took Sia's hand and left the office, I took the back exit to the garage. My driver Seth drove us home. The ride was silent but I could feel that she's slowly letting go of her fear. 

As soon as the car stopped, she ran into the mansion. I rolled my eyes and slowly walked to my room upstairs. 

I fell asleep a while later. I didn't wake up until it was dinnertime. I went downstairs to have dinner. I was expecting to see Sia there but she didn't come down. So I sent someone to go get her. 

"Why aren't you having dinner?." I asked her. 

"I already did Sir. You were still asleep and they didn't want to wake you up." She replied. 

"Okay. You can go rest. We have a busy day ahead tomorrow." 

"Goodnight." She said and left. 

I understand she's trying to be careful with me now. I can't stop thinking about what happened today. No one has ever been able to stop me in that state. I know it's strange that such a thing is happening but it's been a problem since I became sixteen. I can't control myself whenever it does. 

It happens in every sixteen days. I have marked all the days in my calendar. But I've been so busy this week to notice. Nina always reminded me. 

I was told only when I find my mate, that's when I would stop hurting people. She will be the only one who can calm me down. I always lose control of myself but my wolf listened to her today. I can't let her leave. 

I would have sent her away if she was another person, but for my own selfish reasons, I can't. 

After dinner, I went back to my room to rest. My mind drifted to Nina and my father. We don't know who was powerful enough to kill them like that. I'm still very sure it's someone close to us. I know we have enemies but the greatest enemy closest to a person are the ones you call your allies. 

I will get to the root of this.
