Thank you all for reading!
My alarm clock went off right as I was putting on my shoes. After getting a good night’s sleep, I was able to shower, do my hair and makeup. Plus, be ready for breakfast, all before my alarm. For not being a morning person, this was great! Last night, I was in the guest bedroom across the hall since I destroyed my bedroom. It needed a makeover anyway. Just shutting off my emotions was the best decision I have ever done. The freedom of not caring really takes the pressure off on your shoulders! The air felt lighter. The bounce in my step was higher as I made my way to my office. There was so much paperwork that needed done. Thankfully, Wade had been handling most of it, but there was stuff that only Jet or I could sign. There was a hot plate of eggs, sausage, french toast and a glass of orange juice waiting for me at the door when I walked up. The kitchen aid had just started knocking. “Perfect timing.” I smiled at her. “Yes, Goddess Luna. Would you like me to take it in and set it
“All done.” Emily said to me as Jameson and Samantha walked into the conference center. She handed me a mirror to help me see it. There was a mirror on the wall so I was able to use the hand-held mirror to look in the wall-mounted mirror. The line work and detail was amazing. I was in awe with how great it really did look. “I really like it!” Samantha walked up behind me as she got a close look at it. “Good, you can go next.” Emily said as she smiled at Samantha. “Perfect!” Samantha half ran to the chair and sat down. Her legs were bouncing as she looked around her body where she wanted it to go. “Can I get it…. HERE!” She pointed to her forearm. “Sure.” Emily glanced down at her skinny forearm and frowned. “Might be more painful since you don’t have much fat on you, but if you can handle it…” “I think I will be okay.” Samantha smiled as Jameson walked around and put his hands on her shoulders. Wade and I took seats a little way off. “Is everything ready to go to the field
It wasn’t until we were walking the streets from our childhood that images of our childhood flashed before me. Just short little glimpses. Samantha falling off her bike. Mom yelling at me for playing in the street or even Samantha and our gang laying under the stars, eating ice cream. Samantha had soft tears running down her face, as she would occasionally stop at a bloodstain on the street. I knew it had rained, but I guessed the rain hadn’t washed off all the stains on the street. We were standing on the street, looking at the charred, molded and completely destroyed house. The only thing standing was the brick chimney, but even that was partially fallen. Jameson was rubbing her back as she internally debated if she wanted to move closer to it. As the wind blew my hair in my face, I could feel the water changing. It was getting colder, and it smelled like rain. It almost had an ominous feeling. Tuning out Samantha and Jameson, I just focused on the tree line. There were a few bir
Jet POV White hot pain erupted across my body as blackness took over. It felt like I was falling off a cliff before my eyes opened. My body jerked as my eyes opened and air sucked into my lungs. It felt like I hadn’t taken a breath for months. My mouth was dry and cracked as I tried to speak. “JET?” I heard a voice call my name, but all I could focus on was my stomach. The pain was slowly faded as my breathing leveled out. I could feel Colt pace in my mind. The feeling of arms wrap around mine shook me. “Can you hear me?” Looking over, it was Justina. Tears stained her cheeks, her face was puffy and her eyes looked like they had been red for days. “How long?” “Days. It’s bad, Jet. It’s bad.” “Where is she?” “She went with Jameson and Samantha to the field to prepare for the battle. Jet, she turned off her emotions. She is this heartless version of herself. I think she cut them off, so if you died, she would survive it.” “Shit.” “It gets worse. The mark has grown and had pr
Ivory POVS The sparks that were radiating down my body brought something alive in me. Something I forgot what it felt like. Something I never thought I would get back. I could feel my heart race, but surely it was just a dream. I felt myself smile as I snuggled into the warmth of my dream. It was so real, the feel of his skin, the softness of his hair and even the sandalwood and lavender scent. Even in my dreams, he made my heart flutter. A soft chuckle vibrated his chest, making my head shake. “Open your eyes, my love.” “I can’t. Don’t want this dream to end and this feeling to go away.” I muttered. My head nuzzled into his chest like a damn cat. “I won’t leave you. Open those beautiful eyes and look at me.” His hand caressed my face. “Promise?” I felt like a little girl, asking her crush if he was being honest. The fear of rejection is always so strong. “I promise. Open those eyes.” His thumb lifted my face upward. All dreams must come to an end, sooner than later. I just
“Is that…” Jet asked in a whisper as he hung up on Wade. “Yeah. I haven’t fought one yet. I have no idea how to kill it.” The creature was staring at us… waiting. He didn’t advance but didn’t turn around and walked away either. “Is Adron here?” Jet asked. “No, I think that is a scout. To see what we are up to. I don’t feel threatened, but I feel the danger.” “He has amazing control over them.” Jet studied the creature as it just stood there. Its teeth were showing as the corners of his snout was lifted. “We need to move out of this clearing.” I whispered as I pulled Jet’s arm. “Yes, let’s go.” The pilot said as he climbed out of the window, slide down the side of the plane and landed on his feet. “Let’s back away slowly.” My suggestion was based on what felt right. All three of us walked backwards, slowly across the field, until we were at the tree line. The whole time, I felt it watching us. It wasn’t until we were officially out of it’s eyesight that we let out the breath
I told her everything. I told her about my birth parents. They already knew I was adopted. Jet helped me talk about the vampires and witches. I basically spilled my guts, telling them it all. How I lost it. How I got this mark. I told them and Jet about the tattoo. It was so nice to have friends again. “Samantha is alive. She is in our pack in Virgina.” “Paul is dead. I know that for a fact. I was there when he died.” Carter said, shaking his head. “So you are supposed to be a savior now?” Molly said, looking at me with a smile. “Yeah, I guess so. These are improved creatures that killed our pack. More deadly. Faster, more accurate and just overall a more highly intelligent creature.” Shrugging, I stood up and started pacing. “Adron will be here soon. I have my pack and our allies coming to fight. We have the witches but are not sure about the vampires. However, it will come down to if Ivory can kill Adron.” Jet said. He had his left leg lifted with his forearm rested across it
“Jet, this is bad.” I mind-linked him. I knew the Vaewolves that were standing around us would hear us and relay what we were saying to Adron. “I know. I’m thinking. I can’t get through to Wade.” “Me either.” Colt was still in the front, but Jet was still very much present. We could hear a large roar with lots of shouting in the distance. “We have to get there.” Colt said out loud. “Hold on.” Relaxing my entire body, I focused on creating these beautiful vines with massive purple and white flowers. In the middle, they had little needles that shot out poison into their victim. Opening my eyes, I watched them grow around the surrounding trees. The Vaewolves seemed uneasy about them as they bounced from foot to foot. Looking around, I picked out all the Vaewolves I thought I could find. In their original form and in the shapeshift form. Counting to three, all the flowers shot out poisonous needled into the necks of their victims. Their eyes roll in the back of their heads before
Thank you all for reading Opal Eyed Luna! This has been a story that has sat in my mind for a year that I just needed to get out. However, as I wrote it, the story took a turn that I had not expected and it ended up being much longer than anticipated. Since I have read and recieved so much feedback about legnths of books, I have decided to make this part one with a possible part 2 if you readers enjoyed it! I am working on two others right now but I don't feel like I am ready to not see where Ivory and Jet go with her new job title! If you would like to see a book two, please let me know! I love hearing all your thoughts! As always, I do read each and every one of them. As much as I try to like or reply to them all, I have a toddler that I am trying to potty train so it is a little crazy in my house hold! My new book out is called Diamond Eyed Luna. That might be the last in this series, depending if I write a book 2 on this one. It is currently available and I will be posting regu
“We are here to serve you.” Their voice was like ice water running down my veins. “Why can’t Jet see you?” “We could allow him to if you wish?” “Yes.” “Holy moth-” Jet took a step back and wrapped his arm around me. “He is very much your boss as I am.” I said, wanting them to listen to him too. “Understood.” It was weird talking to them. “What is your role? What do you do?” I asked, trying to understand. “We are your servants. When someone needs to pass through, you signal us and we take them there. We are also your protectors. If danger is near, we will tell you.” “That is how Adron was able to always be a step head of us.” I said to Jet in the mind-link. “One of many ways.” Jet replied. “Can you take me to the underworld?” “Sure, if you wish.” One of them said. “However, you may not get to come back.” Another one said. “Why?” Jet asked. You could almost feel them shift their eyes to him. “You are still human. Portal is a one way unless you are a god. Since you are
There appeared to be a clear understanding from Spencer and Jameson. Calvin needed to go. His attitude was not that of a gamma, but of a cocky little shit. One second they were all looking at each other and the next, Calvin realised what was happening. “Whoa! Guys! Come on!” Calvin tried to plead his case as both men jumped him. Jameson took high as Spencer took low. Calvin surprised me with how much of a fight he put up. He managed to knee Spencer in the ribs and land a single punch to Jameson before he was officially knocked out. Once he was removed, it was just Spencer and Jameson. I was on the edge of my eat, trying to see who was winning. Jet was feeling rather anxious himself, which didn’t help mine. These men had trained together. Jameson had trained Spencer, so it was coach verse student. Spencer tried a submission move that Jameson counteracted. Jameson would go to deliver a combination, and Spencer would avoid it expertly. For five whole minutes, not a single blow was l
“Come on, it wasn’t that bad!” Jet was on the other side of my locked bathroom door. Humiliation and embarrassment filled me as I stripped naked and turned the shower on. I had fallen asleep before Jet was back. So, I was trying to make it up to him this morning, but the sexy lingerie I was trying to put on was not baby bell proof. It stuck out like a busted can of biscuits and even ripped the material. The worst part, Jet had walked into the closet to see where I had went and found me in front of the mirror. I was about to pull the one piece down but my stomach ripped a hole, my ass was eating the underwear and there wasn’t enough fabric to cover my nipple. It looked absolutely horrifying. To top it off, I was out of breath from trying to get into it. Jet’s eyes widened as he tried to hide a smile. So, naturally, I am hiding in the bathroom. It was easy to rip it off as my stomach had already started it. Dying of embarrassment was a true statement that never hit me so hard before.
“That was an exhausting day.” My ass was sore from riding Colt all day. It normally wouldn’t be but with this extra weight on my stomach, my posture was off. “Watching the obstacle course twelve times isss… rough. I got my twelve miles in today.” Wade sat down in the chair. Jet was wearing only was wearing his shorts. With his bare chest, it was hard to focus. These pregnancy hormones are no joke. Plus, it has been forever since we had sex. “Focus, afterwards we can do whatever you want.” Jet teased me in my mind. “ANYWAY.” I said, a little too loud. Jet smirked, and Wade looked slightly confused before choosing to ignore us. “Let’s just start at the top. Carol.” “She made quite a few mistakes.” Wade frowned as Jet pulled up the video of her running. “What is the scoring? Like five points per task?” I asked. “That would make 20 points total so that is good.” Jet said. “To start, she immediately stepped on a mine and got herself killed. She didn’t even look around to make s
Jet and I were angry as we exited our room. Not at each other, but the situation we were put in. I thought everything was behind us. We thought we could have a normal quiet life now with our pack and our child. Nope. Now we have to deal with this. What kind of toll is this going to take on me? On our child? “Whoa, that is some major aggression you both have today.” Susan said as we turned the corner into the foyer. Brent, Susan and Wade were waiting for us. I was a little surprised to see Susan. Ever since Megan was killed, she hasn’t come around much if it wasn’t about the baby. “Let’s get this over with.” Jet said as he kept walking past his family and towards the golf carts. Everyone had a surprised looks on their face as they watched him go and then turned and gave me a questioning look. “Later.” I said and followed him out, too. I couldn’t walk as fast, but I was happy to see Jet was waiting by the side of the cart to help me in. No one spoke as we made our awkward golf cart r
“Alright, we have our rankings!” Jet said as he held up his paper. “What are they?” I asked. Jet had kept the names to himself and just wrote the score down by the person. “There are a few ties, but here it is.” He laid it out in front of us. My eyes instantly went to find Jameson. He scored a 25 out of 30. A huge relief washing through me as I kept looking down the line. 19… 22…13… 26 wait? What? It was Carol. She scored one higher than Jameson on the critical thinking test. On the bottom of the paper, there was a list of each name from top ranking to bottom. Carol- 26Jameson-25Spencer-22Leroy- 22Peter- 21Calvin- 21Mark- 19Ethan-19Tyler- 19Anthony- 17Beau-15Dalton-13 “Interesting.” Wade said as he studied it. “Oh, this isn’t good for me.” Sitting down, the panic feeling started creeping back up. “Don’t worry. Jameson excels at obstacle courses. Actually, Leroy might give him a run for his money tomorrow. Even give Carol a heart attack.” Jet said as he grabbed a th
“Are we ready to go?” I was pacing in our office as Jet was finishing up each item on the critical thinking test. It had been a full week and I haven’t done anything but sit around and wait. Wait to go into labor, wait for Jameson to heal and even just wait for this tournament. There were a total of a dozen names on the paper. One female and the rest were males. “I’m finishing it now.” Jet said, slightly annoyed, but his patience was endless with me recently. I knew I was being a handful, but it was hard to relax. Susan had managed to get all the laundry done and put away, but there hadn’t been any progress in making a nursery. So I am worried about the nursery and worried about this tournament. I might have a heart attack before this is over. “You need to breathe.” Wade was sitting on the couch, watching me with a smile on his face. The fact that he found this funny was frustrating. “I’ll… I’ll… I’ll set you on fire!” I finally spit out at him. “We could put that in the obstacl
My feet were never so thankful to be wearing something so comfortable. I couldn’t imagine wearing heels or flats even. Not that I was full on waddling like Justina, but I could tell I was starting to get a sway. Jet gave me his arm to use as we made our way to the field. Brent and Wade had not shown up yet but I knew they weren’t that far behind. All the seats were filled. As we made our way to the front, I noticed everyone had mixed emotions about today. The thing is, I couldn’t tell if it was anger at me or anger at Jameson. There were some people crying, and some even looked happy. Happy his spot was open or happy because they didn’t like him? I couldn’t tell. “So many different emotions.” I commented in the mind-link. We had found our seats and sat down. Jameson and Samantha were standing ten feet from each other, with a baggy t-shirt. Samantha looked both scared and pissed off. Jameson just looked ashamed. “They hadn’t heard the full story, but rumors get spread. From what I
