Chapter 33

Asher frowned and knocked again but the man was adamant. He did not reply.

‘Can you help me here?’ Asher turned to me. I never knew he would ask for my help.

Pushing past him eagerly, I walked to the door.

‘Sir, please can you open it? We just want to talk.’

We waited for a few seconds before the door opened with a creak.

‘come in if you want.’ Old John grumbled.

We both entered the house. The house was small and with Asher in it, it looked even smaller. There was a picture of a goofy young man and a very pretty lady hanging on the wall. Flowers were placed on the table and by the television stand.

Old John gave Asher an angry look.

‘what do you want?’ He asked not to offer us a seat. So we stood awkwardly close to the door.

‘good evening sir, I know you don't want us here. I am Asher Hardin and this is my secretary Lorie Amaris.’

‘Oh miss, pardon my rudeness, take your seat please.’ Old John invited me, taking me by my arm to the living room. I smiled following him.
