CHAPTER 5: THE DEAL

Timothy’s POV

“Timothy. Where were you last night? I heard you went to a bar and left there with a woman. Is she your girlfriend, huh?” mom started interrogating me during our family dinner.

“You’re asking someone to spy me again, huh?”

She laughed. “Well, I just heard it from your best friend, Loki. Come on, why don’t you introduce her to us?”

“Mom, she’s just a friend.”

“A friend, huh?” my younger brother, Philip said. “Did you sleep with her?”

That made me silent and even made my whole family laugh at me. I went to a bar last night and happened to see my brother's ex-girlfriend there. I was also drunk when I offered to drive her home. 

“Oh, my oldest son is finally getting married!”

I rolled my eyes. “Mom! Stop it No one is getting married!”

“Are you sure, my dear?”

“What do you mean are you sure?”

“Well, actually,” Philip paused for a second and continued. “I’m getting married.”

“What?” I looked at the smirk on Philip’s face. “You’re getting married with who?”

Philip laughed. “Of course, with my girlfriend.”

I guess that’s why Philip broke up with Aurora Winters, she was blocking his way, wasn’t she?

“Congratulations, I thought you would never settle for a woman.” I smirked.

Philip rolled his eyes. “Just engagement. It doesn’t mean so much.”

“Look at your brother, Timothy. He would get married earlier than you.” Mom started teasing me again.

"Timothy. You have a date with the daughter of Kingsley Enterprises tomorrow night. Make sure you go there." Dad suddenly said.

"I won't go there. I have much more important things to do."

"If you don't go, then I would reschedule it."

I heaved a deep sigh. "Dad. When will you stop asking me to attend stupid blind dates?"

"When you finally get married. When you finally introduce your girlfriend to us." mom added. 

“I already told you. She’s not my girlfriend. I just met her yesterday.”

“You never slept with anyone in your life. Did you?” mom added.

I just shook my head and continued eating. They really know how to tease me. Especially my mom and dad. They had been convincing me to get married already since I am their oldest son, but I have never been interested in any woman.

"You need to have someone accompany you on your brother's engagement party. If you go there alone, then I have no choice but to just choose a perfect wife for you or make you attend lots of blind dates."

dad insisted.

Mom spoke next. “And I won’t stop teasing you unless you let us meet her.”

“Fine. I will bring her next week.”

I was driving home when I suddenly saw a woman walking near the apartment from Philip's house. When I got to have a closer look, I realized it was Aurora Winters.

I didn't want to interrupt with her, but I suddenly thought of an idea. 

Aurora's POV

I put all of Philip’s things inside a box and went to his apartment again. He looked so surprise upon seeing me.

“What the hell are you doing here? Are you--

Before he could even finish what he was about to say, I threw the box of his things in front of him which caused the box to be opened and the things inside it scattered on the floor.

“Those are your things. You must be thankful I am kind enough to go all my way here just to give those back to you.”

He laughed sarcastically. “Come on, Aurora. Don’t tell me you’re still hoping that we’ll get back together ,if you come here? Look, I am sorry, but nothing like that would happen.”

“Well, I am not hoping for that either. I just wanted those trashes out of my apartment.”

“Why did you even have to go here to give them to me when you could have just thrown them away?”

“What are you saying?”

“Because you wanted to see me. Come on. Okay, I’ll give you a goodbye hug for the last time if that’s what would make you happy. Come here.”

My blood started to boil as I balled my hands into fists. I looked at him and laughed sarcastically. “Is that how air headed you are? Where do you actually get the guts to act that way when you are the one who cheated?! Do you think you’re better now just because you know I still love you?! You know what? Let me tell you. You are an asshole! You are a jerk who knows nothing but hurt my feelings!”

“And who are you? You are just a woman who works so hard for a very little amount of money. All of those goals and dreams of yours, do you really think you can reach them?! You are such an ambitious woman, Aurora! You will never ever be successful in life!”

Gathering all my strength, I raised my right hand and punched his face.

“Y-You--

“How can you say those things to me, huh? How can you say those things to someone who truly loved you? Did you even love me?!”

“You’re asking me that now, huh? Then  I’ll tell you the truth. I only asked you to be my girlfriend because of Hannah. I wanted to be close to her. And since you are so gullible, I decided to just get your trust first. Are you happy now?”

I could feel the tears filling my eyes while hearing those words from him that feels like breaking my soul into pieces.

“I hate you so much, Philip! I hate you so much!” I said as I kept on punching his chest, but then he suddenly grabbed my hands and pushed me to the ground.

“Hate me all you want, Aurora. I don’t really care! Just accept the fact that no one’s going to love a woman  like you! Here are your things!” he growled and threw me a box of my things before going back inside his  apartment, leaving me alone, sitting on the ground with my eyes full of tears.

I wiped the tears from my eyes and stood up.

That man is not worth crying for, Aurora. Just move on from him.

I kept on consoling myself while walking, but my tears just won’t stop. My sight started to blur, so I had no choice but to stop walking.

“Aurora Winters?”

When I heard that voice, I suddenly thought of something.

Why does he always appear whenever I’m having a break down?

“Why don’t we have an agreement?”

I looked at him with furrowed brows. We were inside his car and I was about to step out when he said that. “W-What? Agreement?”

"Marry me."

"W-What? M-Marry you?"

"I mean, a fake marriage. My parents want me to get married already. I am tired of them asking me about it."

I was just staring at him, confused about what he was saying. He just told me to forget about what happened between us, and now he is offering me to marry him. What the hell is going on?

"W-Wait, why does it have to be me? I'm sorry, I don't get it. I just came from a bad break up and---

"Philip and her girlfriend will be having their engagement party next week. If you agree to have a deal with me, then meet me at the Beatrice Grand Hotel."
