Hailey’s POV

"No, Father," I pleaded, my voice shaking. "You have to believe me. I didn't do this. I was drugged. I would never betray you like this."

"Enough!" my father shouted, his eyes blazing with fury. "I'm not interested in your lies. I’m highly disappointed in you. How could you seduce Alpha Zac on an important day like yesterday knowing how much of an enemy he is to our pack and the reason for his visit. You are my precious daughter, the one chosen to take over the leadership of the pack and you dared betray me like this?” My father fumed and I started sobbing as I couldn’t take it anymore.

I sank to my knees, my whole body shaking as I wept. "Please, Father. I'm telling the truth. I wouldn't do this."

"I don’t care, Hailey. You are no longer my daughter," my father said coldly. "You have betrayed us all. I have no choice but to banish you from the pack.”

"No, please," I sobbed, unable to believe what was happening. "Please, let me stay. I will do anything to prove my innocence. I will take a truth oath, if that's what you want,” I was desperate as I continued pleading.

My heart was broken into a million pieces. I had never imagined that my own father would disown me. I was devastated. "Please," I begged. "I can't leave."

"You made your choice the moment you spiked his wine and got in bed with him," my father said, his voice hard. "You are no longer part of this family. You have brought shame upon us.”

“Believe me father. I never did it,” I said but my father refused to listen. He couldn’t even look at me.

“It’s already too late, Hailey. It’s been decided, you will be married off to Alpha Zac. The bargain had already begun. You will be the peace treaty we have owed his pack for years, at least even amidst your waywardness, you will be useful,” my father said and started walking away.

“No, father. Please don’t do this to me. Believe me, I cannot be sold to Alpha Zac. No father, please,” I begged, fidgeting in fear. I crawled after my father and held his feet but he kicked my hands off and shut the door when he walked out of my room.

I fell on the floor, crying bitterly. The thought of ending up with the enemy Alpha of my pack knowing I will never be accepted nor loved by him was scary.

I knew I had no bright future being his Luna, I was only going to be miserable and with the rumors I had heard, Alpha Zac already had someone he was engaged to.

My door opened, revealing my step sister as she walked in with a smirk on her face.

“How does it feel to be misunderstood and not believed?” She asked, almost laughing at me.

“What Alisha, don’t tell me you are the one that set me up,” I said with disbelief.

“Of course, didn’t Alpha Zac tell you the shitty things I said about you in advance before my plan was played out,” she said with a triumphant look on her face

“Alisha!. How could you be so heartless toward me? We might not be born of the same mother but we share the same father. You are not supposed to do this to me,” I cried, standing up to face her.

“But I warned you. I asked you to reject the position of being the pack’s next ruler but you refused, saying it was your birthright. You reminded me of how much of an illegitimate child I was and it pissed me off,” Alisha said to me, her face contorted in anger.

“Is that why you would set me up with Alpha Zac on an important day like yesterday, openly disgracing me before the pack members. How dare you make me look like a slut,” I yelled at Alisha, losing my temper.

“I don’t care what you think or how you will be looked upon from now on. At Least you are out of my way. The pack will be mine, bitch!” Alisha said with a disgusted look, she turned around and started heading out.

“No, Alisha. You cannot do this to me. Go tell father the truth. I promise I will disappear and leave the pack for you. Please just help me get out of this mess, I cannot end up with Alpha Zac. It’s going to be hell,” I pleaded, grabbing Alisha’s hand.

“Hell? Huh! She scoffed with her eyes burning in hatred. “That is where I have always wanted you to be and did you think I didn’t send you there on purpose. I did, go and meet your stupid mother, you deserve to be there with her and I don’t fucking care,” Alisha yelled with a murderous glint, pushing my hands off but I refused backing off and grabbed her hand again.

“I refuse to be sent to hell Alisha, and don’t you ever mention my mother. You have to tell father everything that happened immediately or I will not let you go. I will drag you to his office and tell him everything,” I threatened with desperation.

“And who is going to believe you, Hailey! Has anyone ever done so? Will my mother allow father to believe you? Has anything ever gone your way since your mother died? Never! Everything has always gone my way because I am supposed to stand out as the true daughter of our father. I am a full blooded high ranked werewolf, my mother is a beta. Who is your mother? I might be an illegitimate child but my mother is not some lowly omega like your mother,” Alisha spat and I lost my temper and slapped her.

“How dare you continue bringing my mother into this, you have to show her some respect,” I said, breathing heavily. I hated anyone talking about my mother since I will be reminded of the gruesome way she was murdered.

“You dare you slap me?” She yelled, her eyes turning red in anger.

“I don’t regret it. You overstepped on your boundary,” I replied.

“Right? I overstepped my boundary?” She said, her eyes lighting up in a wicked smile.

“Since I overstepped my boundary, then watch me pay you back in one hundred fold,” she said and quickly grabbed my neck, choking me. My fingers dug into her flesh as I struggled to make her let go but she refused and continued until I felt light headed and passed out.
