Eranthe stared straight ahead and only then noticed there was a woman sitting in Dylan's lap. Dylan's hand was slipping under her skirt.
It was the first time she had seen Dylan like this. Before this, he always acted like a gentleman in front of her.
As Dylan spoke, the atmosphere in the private room was instantly ignited.
Someone intentionally stirred the pot, using a vulgar tone, "What's the matter? Didn't serve Mr. Miller well at night? Forget it, the little beauty doesn't understand, why not come over and apologize to Mr. Miller?"
All kinds of eyes fell on Eranthe, and none of them were friendly.
She knew tonight was a setup, but the current situation was far from optimistic.
Dylan had just pushed the woman off him, tapped the marble countertop in front of him, and said, "What, are you scared? Come over and drink all this alcohol. I'll give you a chance to kneel and apologize."
If it was still within the realm of teasing before, now it had turned into an insult.
Some men couldn't bear to watch his insulting a lady and spoke up for Eranthe.
"Alright, Dylan, since you're a man, maintain a bit of gentlemanly demeanor, okay? Don't make things too unpleasant."
This seemed to anger Dylan.
"It seems her appearance is quite deceiving. What do you think she's worth!" Dylan sneered.
Upon hearing Dylan's words, everyone realized that he intended to trouble this woman today.
Ultimately, in the business world, no one would turn against a friend for a woman.
Dylan didn't like to hear that, which could only mean trouble for this unfortunate beauty.
The lively atmosphere in the private room came to a halt, and even the music stopped. All eyes were on Eranthe.
After a moment of stiffness, Eranthe noticed that there were now security guards guarding the door. No wonder she could easily enter earlier. But it was difficult for her to leave.
These bodyguards deliberately let her in. Dylan set a trap, instructing the bodyguards to guard the entrance and limit her options.
With no other choice, she had to accept the situation.
Once she figured it out, she walked directly towards Dylan.
In that short distance, she managed to display a myriad of expressions.
Even Dylan couldn't help but admit that he had invested the most effort in Eranthe.
Yet, it was also this woman who had cuckolded him in such a shameful way. If he didn't retaliate, what was the point of staying in Assyria City?
"Mr. Miller." It was clearly a lazy tone with a touch of coldness, but when it came out of her mouth, it turned into a weapon to tease men.
Dylan couldn't help but feel a burning rage every time he thought of her acting like a sacred and untouchable saint in front of him while getting all flirty with Colin.
He wished he could strip her right there in public and show everyone how he conquered her like animals.
Eranthe curled her lips, "If I drink all these drinks, will you give me a way out at work?"
Dylan pushed his tongue against the soft flesh of his cheek, "Drink first, then we'll talk."
Immediately, there was a chorus of cheers in the private room, "Drink, drink, drink!!"
The female attendants, being tactful, approached as some men lit up cigarettes, offering assistance.
Eranthe looked at the row of various liquids in the neatly arranged glasses, tugged at the corner of her lips, then picked up the sobering glass.
Everyone watched her, and no one stopped Dylan, probably wanting to see how this woman would fight back like a cornered beast.
Eranthe poured all the contents of the glass into the sobering glass. "Let's drink it one by one. What do you think, Mr. Miller?"
Dylan showed a mocking expression, curious about what this woman was up to.
"Dylan, that's enough. Drinking like this can be deadly," someone advised.
They were out for fun, not to take lives.
Dylan, in his current excitement, didn't pay attention to this advice. "If you're scared, you can leave."
Tonight, he was determined to torment Eranthe and then present her with a unique gift.
Eranthe stood up, smiled at the man who spoke up for her earlier, and then stood in front of Dylan.
Her eyes, like smoke and mist, looked both pure and alluring at this moment.
Dylan, genuinely attracted to her, lost his arrogant demeanor when he saw her yielding.
"Are you shameless? Huh? Do you think that by getting close to Colin, he'll stand up for you? With his status, would he care about you?Don’t be silly. I've been so good to you, and you dare to cuckold me?"
Eranthe maintained her smile and calmly said, "Yes, you've been very good to me."
Then her expression changed abruptly. She grabbed Dylan's collar and splashed the sobering glass at him.
This scene unfolded too suddenly.
The bouncers at the door reacted too late, and Dylan had already received a slap from Eranthe.
"Get lost, you bastard! You were cheating on me first and still having the nerve to accuse me? Do you think I have a good temper? I've given you face, and you don't appreciate it."
The two pairs of footsteps just reached the outside of the door.
The lively commotion behind the door was clearly audible, and the transparent glass window on the door reflected a vivid martial arts scene.
Unable to resist, Frank grinned, while the man beside him, with cold eyes hidden behind his glasses, showed no emotion.
The scolding inside the room intensified.
"What's wrong with cuckolding you? I had a fantastic night with Mr. Rodriguez. He made me ecstatic and keep me climaxing along night long. How about you? Can you? What are you without your daddy, Eric Miller?"
Upon hearing the voices from inside, Frank raised an eyebrow involuntarily, his lips curled with suspicion, his gaze, becoming peculiar, changed direction and he raised his hand, ready to push the door.
Dylan was completely stunned and, when he finally reacted, attempted to counterattack. The screams in the private room immediately erupted. In the midst of the chaos, the door was kicked open directly.Frank was about to speak when he heard Eranthe's bold statement. He rushed in first. His gaze, filled with ambiguity, landed on the guy behind him, and he whistled."Dylan, quite a lively scene you've got here. Why didn't you call us out to play?" he said.As he spoke, the person behind him restrained the bouncers in the room, patting him on the shoulder to make him step aside. The onlookers, who were initially considering joining the commotion, suddenly fell silent. They watched as Colin, entering with Frank, calmly took a seat. The air in the room instantly grew tense, and a vacant spot was willingly created at the center.Colin nonchalantly sat down, his distinctive features blending into the vibrant lights of the room, casting a mysterious allure.Judging by his attire, he had likel
Eranthe pushed him away, her hands clenched into fists.Colin's suggestive remarks were too strong, but She couldn't understand why Colin, who had experienced the casual relationships with so many women, would be entangled with her. Why her?Things seemed to have become a little bit complicated. Colin was just a tool she used to counter Dylan, and she really hadn't thought about any further development with him. But the current reality was that she had provoked Colin, a mysterious and formidable figure, and now she couldn't shake him off!Frank watched coldly from the side, not intending to intervene.Seeing that things were getting out of hand, someone stood up and said, "Mr. Rodriguez and Mr. Wilson, we have some urgent matters to attend to in our company. We'll leave first."Seeing Colin's lack of response, they all got up to leave."Where are you going?" Colin stopped them, lit a cigarette, and said, "We've ordered so many good drinks. It's a waste not to drink them out.""Ok, yes
Colin raised an eyelid. "You're overthinking it."Although she had guessed the answer, hearing him admit it so blatantly brought a sense of annoyance, feeling like she was being treated as a plaything. However, his clear acknowledgment was better than Dylan's deceitful use of love as a guise. On this side, Colin had already withdrawn his hand as if the ambiguous and teasing words spoken earlier weren't uttered by him personally."I was just speculating. Since that's the case, Mr. Rodriguez, I refuse your proposal."Colin raised an eyebrow. "Have you really thought it through?"Eranthe found it amusing. This man in front of her, sometimes seeming rude, would, at certain times, pretend to be very gentlemanly, always asking for her opinion, even in matters between the sheets."As you've seen, I just experienced betrayal. My trust in men is almost at zero. So, in this state, I have no intention of starting a new relationship.""But what I'm proposing is a long-term sexual partner. We only
Eranthe's hand paused, and then she opened the documents on her desk to check the upcoming schedule and team meetings.Acacia patted her shoulder. "You went out with Dylan before. Have you seen Colin? Is he really as handsome as in the photos?""I didn't notice," Eranthe replied after a pause.Acacia nodded without suspicion."Oh, don't forget about the department gathering tomorrow night. I can see that Galina is well-prepared this time. Mr. Harris, that old lecher, has been eyeing you for a long time. With the news of Dylan breaking up with you, he might try to take advantage. You need to be smart, and if all else fails, consider making a quick exit."Eranthe felt overwhelmed at the thought of the upcoming situation. "Okay."The department gathering was scheduled at a newly opened club, considered a high-end venue.Throughout the day, Acacia complained to Eranthe about how it was always them, the small fry, who had to split the bill with the leaders, and then endure their inappropri
Fed up with Galina's troublemaking, Eranthe was in a deadlock when the door to the private room opened. The waiter brought in wine and a dessert platter."Is this a mistake? We didn't order these.""No mistake. These are compliments of Frank Wilson. Also, all the expenses tonight are on Mr. Wilson's account."Looking at the expensive bottle, worth at least 100,000 dollars, everyone fell silent.Galina could barely hide her embarrassment, "No wonder Eranthe doesn't bother to toast, huh?"Acacia had endured this woman's antics all night, finding her irritating with her ambiguous speech. She directly mocked, "Okay, we get it. Frank Wilson wouldn't ask Eranthe to drink if he was here. What kind of creature are you?"Colleagues coughed awkwardly as the waiter, with a smile, placed the items down and retreated.Eranthe felt a sinking feeling. She couldn't figure out what Frank meant by suddenly pulling off such a move. According to their private relationship, it shouldn't have reached this
Eranthe smiled coldly."Joke's on you. I dared to confront Dylan; hitting you is nothing! Ever heard of 'he who provokes first is shameless'? You must be unfamiliar with it!""I'm not someone with a good temper. Dare to provoke me again, and you'll see." With that, she pushed Galina against the wall, looking down at her. "Did you understand my words? Mind your own business."Galina looked at Eranthe in horror. Her makeup was now smudged, and her clothes were wet. Unable to fight back against Eranthe, she grabbed her makeup bag and fled.Eranthe found it quite amusing. In this world, there were plenty of those who were fierce on the surface but timid inside. The weaker you showed, the more they thought you were easy to bully. As if realizing something, Eranthe took a deep breath and turned around.Unexpectedly, the first thing she saw was a pair of finely crafted leather shoes, followed by the impeccably tailored trouser legs of a suit.Eranthe felt a sense of familiarity with those lo
It was Morris, Colin's assistant.Galina suddenly lost her voice, and Mr. Harris was quicker to react, rushing to the front."Morris, long time no see," he greeted, pulling out a cigarette from his pocket.Morris waved his hand and looked at Eranthe. "Miss Eranthe Taylor, if you have any business needs, you can contact the number on this business card."Eranthe was momentarily stunned but quickly recovered. "Morris, may I schedule a meeting with Mr. Rodriguez to personally express my gratitude?""I will inquire with Mr. Rodriguez," Morris replied.Seeing that he didn't refuse, Eranthe breathed a sigh of relief. "Goodnight, Morris."She watched the luxury cars leave, leaving her colleagues in stunned silence.Acacia rolled her eyes and, looking at Galina's pale face, said, "A clown jumping around."Eranthe held Morris's business card. Although it was Morris's personal number, at least it was a step given by Colin.Galina couldn't stay any longer and left immediately.Acacia stayed with
The atmosphere in the car fell into a dreadful silence.Colin, unlike before, didn't make any ambiguous moves towards her. Instead, he closed his eyes, seemingly to rest.If Eranthe weren't sitting on his lap, the current distance between them would be quite satisfactory for her.Unfortunately, she dared not move now. Even when the car stopped at a red light, she remained tense, trying to figure out what explanation Colin might accept. She thought that he had given her an obvious way out tonight.Eranthe never believed that someone would help another person for no reason. Besides, Colin was well-known for his lack of compassion in the business world. Considering all this, she couldn't find any reason why Colin would extend a helping hand to her multiple times.Fortunately, Sharon No. 3 was not far from their current location. When they reached the entrance of the residential area, the driver stopped the car.Eranthe wanted to move, but she unconsciously looked at Colin. The light from
Eranthe replied, "If I had no conscience, I wouldn't give you medicine to take."Colin turned his head in frustration.Morris arrived promptly upon hearing that Colin was ill, and Eranthe happened to be handing over her shift to him."Follow the instructions on the medicine label for him. I've prepared hot water. Just remember to close the door when you leave," Eranthe said, aware that she had only half an hour for her commute and couldn't linger.Morris nodded repeatedly but then noticed the deathly stare from his boss."Miss Taylor.""Yes?""Today, I also need to take a day off with Mr. Rodriguez. Could you please take care of him?""Today's schedule is packed for me. I can't look after him," Eranthe replied, well aware of Morris's tactics. His loyalty was clearly with Colin.Morris was quick on his feet. "Miss Taylor, my mom is coming to Assyria City today. I was planning to take the afternoon off anyway. Mr. Rodrigue
Colin raised an eyebrow in disappointment, then spread out the sheets and lay down with the cat.But clearly, he couldn't sleep. The scent of the woman still lingered in the air, constantly tempting him and making him feel uncomfortably hot.He decided to take off his shirt, his long legs hanging off the sofa because it was too small for him to stretch out fully.Every time he closed his eyes, he pictured her exceptionally enchanting appearance.Inside the house, Eranthe tossed and turned, feeling like her territory had been invaded. She regretted not ignoring him.Why was this so troublesome? If only she had ignored him, she would have fallen asleep by now. After lying in bed for half an hour without feeling drowsy, she scratched her head, feeling the need to use the bathroom. But the bathroom was outside the room...What if that dog suddenly pounced on her?If he dared, she would punch him.Eranthe silently vowed, lift
Eranthe: ...She really wanted to smash this guy with the water bottle."Go home!"If she kept listening to him, she might start feeling a little soft-hearted.Colin smiled subtly and followed her casually, like a large dog.On the way home, Eranthe repeated multiple times not to take advantage of any opportunity to enter her home.Colin agreed readily, and when it came time to open the door, she insisted on watching him enter before she unlocked it, like she was guarding against a thief.Colin asked, "Are you really sure you don't need me to escort you home?""Mr. Rodriguez, I'm already home.""What if someone unwelcome shows up at your place?"Eranthe laughed, "Then I'll call the police. It's scarier letting you in. Maybe you should worry more about whether there's a headless ghost under your bed at night, or someone staring at you from outside your window."After saying this, Eranthe watched with satisfa
"..." Eranthe concluded that communicating with him was indeed asking for trouble.Eranthe opened the door to leave, and Colin followed.Eranthe cursed inwardly. She had let her guard down. It seemed Colin had taken advantage of the moment to change his clothes, and now he was accompanying her to eat."Mr. Rodriguez, someone of your stature shouldn't be playing the role of a tracker," Eranthe remarked."No, of course not," Colin assured her."Let's hope you stick to that," Eranthe responded skeptically."Agreed."The two entered the elevator. "Where are you headed, Mr. Rodriguez?""Depends on my mood.""..." What a watertight answer! Depending on his mood meant wherever she was going, he would follow! The elevator quickly arrived, and as luck would have it, they encountered the elderly lady downstairs again."Oh dear, finished your meal, young couple? Going out for a stroll?"Eranthe smiled awkwardly
Wasn't he just trying to make her insist he stay?"Forget it, sit down and eat. It's like I'm bullying you," she muttered.Colin moved closer. "Miss Taylor, are you inviting me?"He glanced at his watch. "During my working hours, I'm not allowed to eat with clients, but if a client requests it, I can provide additional services.""What additional services? Dishwashing?""A deep kiss.""Eh?" Eranthe gave him a deadpan smile. "You're fired.""My employer isn't Miss Taylor, so you don't have the authority for that, but you can complain.""And the solution to complaints—is it also a kiss?"Colin remained serious, adopting an austere expression. "Miss Taylor, I'm here for part-time work, not to sell myself."Eranthe couldn't stomach her meal after that.“Colin, are you even serious? Should I start a fundraiser to buy you a mirror?” Eranthe retorted, still seething. This guy had the audac
Then, as if in disbelief, the doorbell rang."I'm sorry, Miss Taylor, it seems the nutritionist has arrived. We've already paid, so it would be awkward to send him away."Eranthe: ...Why did you even schedule this?!It's just stirring up trouble for no reason! She didn't want to take it out on innocent people, so she hung up the phone and went to open the door, expecting to see a lady but finding a tall man at the door instead.Eranthe burst out laughing, "Mr. Rodriguez.""When did you start moonlighting as a nutritionist?" Eranthe crossed her arms, eager to hear what else he could come up with.Colin raised an eyebrow, "Just bored after work, making some extra cash."He gestured to come inside, leaving Eranthe speechless. She was also worried about leaving the door open and the cat suddenly darting out.Once Colin successfully entered, it was just like before—efficiently grabbing onions, ginger, and garlic
Most likely, Colin was just there as a witness the whole time.Eranthe adjusted her position, leaning closer to the car window, and closed her eyes again. When she woke up once more, it was to the sound of honking outside the window. She suddenly looked as night fell, turning her head abruptly to meet the man's dark gaze. She jumped slightly, and Colin said casually, "Awake?"Eranthe checked the time and realized it was already 7:40. She must have slept quite a while in the car. "Why didn't you wake me?" she asked. She opened the car door. "Thank you for driving me back."As she picked up her bag to head home, she noticed Colin was also getting out of the car.Eranthe halted her steps. "Are you planning to come to my house?"Colin admitted nonchalantly, "Yes."Eranthe was incredulous. "Mr. Rodriguez, don't play dumb. Wasn't I clear enough?"Colin replied, "Shouldn't a pursuer safely escort you to the doorst
Alexis wasn't under Mr. Hill Vice President Hill's jurisdiction, so he didn't react much either. After the meeting dispersed, Eranthe clearly noticed several leaders looking displeased.Just as Mr. Hill Vice President Hill was giving Eranthe instructions about which projects to prioritize next, Eranthe was taking notes with her pen when she saw the hotel manager rushing over to a group of leaders."What's going on?" Eranthe watched as the leaders headed towards the coffee shop, and shortly after, police cars arrived. It seemed they were trying to contain the situation and were ordered to return to the city promptly.Eranthe had already checked out and didn't want to get involved in others' affairs. She hoped to catch a ride with Mr. Hill Vice President Hill, but then she saw him being called away as well."Forget about it, let's all go back," Eranthe muttered to herself as she turned around, but then Colin's phone call came through.S
"Okay, if you really end up with Eranthe, I'll learn from you.""Does Oriel really want to be with you? Just flattering yourself," Colin, in a bad mood, retorted sharply.Frank sighed, "Ah, men without a sex life are truly terrifying."Colin ignored him. From behind the water feature, voices could be heard.Although not loud, with few guests around, the conversation was clear."That woman is really pretty, almost like those female celebrities on TV.""Were you trained with her before? Do you know what she's like? Is she easy to get? With looks like hers, she must have plenty of suitors.""I heard she has some connection with that Miller family whose son, Eric Miller, dated her for a few months. They've probably split up now, and there are quite a few guys chasing her in the company.""I think with a woman like her, you could win her over with a bit of money. Just a few dates and you could sleep with her.""Alexis,
