Chapter 6 My boyfriend

Alice found this chuckle very familiar.

Straightening her back and looking up, Alice met with Zayden’s cold eyes.

She tilted her head and complained in her heart, “What the heck? How the hell did I bump into him, no matter where I went? He must be thinking that I am a shameless woman who would do anything to throw herself at him. But I am not.”

Ruby asked, “Alice are you alright?”

Instead of answering her, Alice clenched her fists tightly. She thought, “Do you enjoy the show, Ruby? You have been very sarcastic to me since we entered the elevator. Alice know that she was here to cause trouble for her. If she find out Alice didn’t have a boyfriend, she would be even more delighted. However, Alice didn’t want to give in to her so easily…

Alice was already pissed off by her and started to think of a way out.

Speaking of boyfriend…

The next moment, Alice held Zayden's arm tightly and leaned against his shoulder. She felt that his body suddenly become tense. However, she ignored it and pretend to up intimate and said coyly, “Honey, what a surprise! You must be waiting in the elevator for a long time to surprise me, don’t you? I am so touched!”

Everyone, except Alice was speechless. In particular, Ruby looked at Alice and gritted her teeth, and wondered. This man was young and handsome. From his clothes and watch, Ruby can tell that he was a wealthy boss. How did Alice able to find such a handsome and successful boyfriend? She was not going to believe her…

Ruby laughed, “Alice, just now he did not even look at you. How could he be your boyfriend? You should have hired someone who is more convincing to act like your boyfriend?”

Alice was dumbfounded and looked at Zayden. His face was expressionless, so she couldn’t guess his thoughts and don’t know what he was thinking. She doesn’t know what should she say next.

Zayden then said loftily, “Do you think that she has the money to pay me to pretend to be her boyfriend?”

Alice was shocked. “Did Zayden just admit that he is my boyfriend?” She thought in her heart.

Henry, who was standing next to Zayden, looked at his iPad and handed it over to him, and said. “Mr. Collins, this is the speech for the celebration…”

“Mr. Collins?” Ruby gasped. He is Zayden Collins? She had heard a lot about him but she never had a chance to see him in person. Zayden was never a lascivious person. One of his indirect business partners sent a woman to his room, hoping that it would satisfy him. However, to their surprise it did not please him at all, on the other hand, it only triggered his wrath, making them end up losing everything… A few years earlier, he suddenly had a son, but he had never mentioned who the mother was. Some speculated that his son was born via a surrogate mother. Countless women wanted to be his son’s stepmother but no one ever managed to get close to him or his son, forget about becoming his son’s stepmother.

But now…

Looking at Alice, who was leaning against Zayden’s shoulder…

The more Ruby thought about it the angrier she became. She know that Zayden was better than Evan in all aspects the moment the elevator door opened, she said as she pulled Evan out of the elevator, “Alice, you please must come to our engagement party with Mr. Collins! Well, we have something urgent to deal with, so we are getting go now. Bye.”

After she said, she walked out of the elevator with Evan.

Alice looked at their leaving figure and only have a sigh of relief when the elevator door closed again.

Zayden rolled his eyes and said, “Yesterday, you are so brave that you dare to bet with, and today… you cower in fear?”

Sensing Zayden’s domineering aura, Alice did not dare to move. Right now, her back was pressing against the elevator wall, and her hands clenched into fists. The man was standing so close to her, that she could feel his warm and alluring breath.

Suddenly, her face turned red. Alice looked at him and stammered, “You… why are you standing so close to me? Step… Step back…”

She was flustered.

Zayden looked at her hands placed on his chest. Her hands were soft and warm. Somehow, he turned on…

“Who the hell you are? How did you manage to turn me on just like that woman whom I had sex with five years ago?”

Zayden become upset because he did not like losing his composure. It was clear that this woman could cause him to lose his control.

Zayden leaned closer to Alice and whispered into her ear, “Weren’t you closer to me last time when you flirted with me in the hotel lobby? Today, you were playing the same trick, right?”

Henry, who was standing at the side, was like an invisible person to them…

“Who… who flirted with you? I have already said that it was just an accident…”

“Oh… so what happened today was also an accident, right?”

“Or, did you use me as a shield? Tell me, my dear GIRLFRIEND,” Zayden asked. He purposely stressed the word “Girlfriend.”

“Alice, I helped you because you are my employee and I won’t allow anyone to bully my employees. Don’t push your luck again.” Zayden thought in his heart and gave himself a reason, why he helped her.

Zayden leaned toward her ear again and whispered, “I hope that this is the last time you have had such an accident with me… If there is another accident in the future, I will fire you immediately.”

Zayden’s stare sent a shiver down Alice’s spine. After the elevator door opened, Zayden immediately turned around and left.

It was not until then Alice relaxed her tense body. She have a sigh of relief and thought in her heart, “Who wants to have an accident with you? Stop flattering yourself, okay?”

As soon as Alice reached her department, her assistant Kaya Haskell called her.

Noticing that Kaya looked flustered, Alice asked, “What happened?”

“A child in the VVIP suite on the 25th level is throwing a tantrum and refusing to eat. No one could stop him and now… the whole room was in a mess. Our hotel would take the blame if anything happens to him…”

“A child in a VVIP suite alone? Did he just check in?”

Kaya nodded, “Short of. He is five years old and has a very bad temper. No one could coax him. He is throwing a tantrum and trashing the room.”

“What? Where is his family? They are supposed to look after him.” Alice commented and then ordered, “Let’s go.”

Brian followed Alice and continued to report, “He has not eaten anything for a day and we are afraid that something may go wrong.”

“It’s normal for a child to feel insecure when his parents were not around,” Alice said as she waited for the elevator, “What kind of parents would leave their kids alone in the hotel?”

“To be honest, this child was Mr. Collins’s son.” Kaya thought in his heart and nodded stiffly.

“Bang!”

Alice and Kaya heard the sound of something breaking along with the screams of the staff as they approached the room.

“Miss Brown is here!” A staff member looked at Alice coming with Kaya and announced.

While others were still thinking and talking about how to handle the situation, Alice had already walked inside the room, which now looked trashed. The seat cushions and pillows were all over the floor. Broken lamps, glasses, plates, and trash were everywhere.

Alice looked around and gasped. She couldn’t help but think in her heart. “How a five-year-old boy could be so destructive?”

“Where is the kid?” She asked.

A staff member pointed at the bedroom. “He is in the bedroom. What should we do?”

Alice frowned and asked, “Have you contacted his parents?”

“We have. But… we couldn’t get through to them,” Someone replied.

“Forget it.” Alice rolled up her sleeves and ordered, “Tell the cooks to make some pancakes and chicken soup. And get this room cleaned.” After Alice finished speaking, she walked toward the bedroom through the mess.

As she left, a staff member start chatting.

“So… you just let her go in?”

“What, do you want to go instead of her?”

“No. Anyone who offended the little master would be fired. I don’t wanna get myself fired!”

Alice slowly opened the door of the bedroom and looked inside. She saw. In the room, the pillows and blanket were on the floor. And a small boy was sitting on the cold floor, as still as a statue…

“Hello…”

Alice greeted the boy, but the boy ignored her. Just as she managed to take a couple of steps forward, she saw something flying toward her.
