Ninety-Five

ZORA'S POV

I came back from the kitchen after having gotten glasses of juice for Finn and Freya. At the table, I hesitated, then sat down slowly. I had spent sometime in the kitchen, putting it in order. Yet I still saw the same quantity of food on the children's plates. They didn't appear to have eaten anything at all. Plastering a smile on my face, I placed the glasses of fruit juice in front of them.

"There you go," I said. "Cold and yummy just the way you like it. Now eat your food so you'll both grow really big and strong, okay?"

They nodded listlessly and began to pick at their food, evidently eating with no enjoyment. I ate some of my food, chewed slowly, taking care to taste what I was eating. The meal was delicious. I had ordered it from a restaurant whose food the kids liked. That meant they couldn't be picking at their food because it was tasteless.

The only sound in the dining room was the clinking of cutlery which was odd, because meal times were a time of activity for
