CHAPTER 5

nadir

"Let go of me" I mutter in between words almost choking as I'm unable to breathe,

"Fine I would only if you give in first, surrender" he says causing me to choke harder as he tightened his grip around my neck,

"I su…" I look to my father cutting my words short, I can't disappoint him, he has done way too much for me besides I have been working my ass off each night for the past four months giving up on everything would not help me in any way,

I push him off a little, distracting him as I kick him in the groin with my left leg causing him to let go of his grip on me.

Immediately I pick up the dagger slitting his wrists and yelps in pain leaving me totally contented and fulfilled,

A scornful look appears on Brian's face which makes me smile at him, nu father looks just as proud of me as he ever had,

"Now it's all complete, agnes has proven herself to be strong enough to take my place as alpha, 

I call on Celeste our moon goddess to bear me witness as I pass down my position to her just like my father had done to me,

You shall swear an oath to protect the pack at all cost, come forward nadir" my father calls for me, I process in my taking slow graceful strides towards him tuesday had finally come after years of waiting And nights of practicing I can finally be free of it, of all of it and take rightful place in the pack.

He taps me on my shoulder as I walk towards him with a smile on his face he says,

"You always make me proud agnes and today is not different I am always thankful for you being my daughter, now it's time for you to pledge your allegiance to the moon goddess and swear an oath"

I look around me shyly I been practicing this speech for years however today it seems stuck in my throat,

"I swear an oath to you today Celeste to always withhold you I'm high regards and become one with you as I will protect the pack at all cost even when it costs me my life, may you bear me witness today as I take place following in the footsteps of my ancestors,

Strike me down if you find me at fault in anything I do as I place today as alpha to the rasmus pack" ending my words I kneel to the floor my father takes up some blood of a lamb and ours it over me causing it to drop down into my body as I smell of lamb blood,

My mother must be thanking her down ancestors for me not wearing the dress she had given me as it would be ruined If I had wore it,

Everyone around me ululates as I had finally finished my swearing and coronation, a smile in each face all looking happy well I'd course from Brian with his and scornful look he tries clapping but his hands stops die this side on every attempt,he will surely be a nut job and a handful to deal with when I'm all done ,

"Well-done my child henceforth you shall no longer be addressed as agnes but as the alpha to the pack"

My father says whether a smile on ashes face looking the proudest of everyone, I look towards the crowd with a smile bowing slightly this ai my time to make a speech but I wave instead nervous to speak I light end up speaking gibberish and that surely a no go area,

Everyone begins to stand from their seats each tending back to their activities as Austin stands from his position which he had long been,

He walks towards me Bowing slightly,

"Alpha nadir" I at him waving him off sure to place him in my black list, he seemed determined to kill me off earlier which makes me suspect he just have something together with Brian maybe some sort of alliance if their own but thankfully I was smart enough to wave it off as it was really a close call I would have died in the spit if I had not been quick enough to kick him in his groin,

"Can I speak to you alpha nadir?" My mother says mimicking Austin as we both let out a loud laugh, I nod granting her permission as she pulls me by my arm,

"That's no way for an alpha to act" my father says in a Stern voice he has always been a man of discipline,

"Not yet father let me have the whole day to myself,

I hurry away from him pulling mom by the hand before father would get a chance to retort,

"Slow down young lady" I stop at once letting go of hand as she struggles to breathe I must have ran too fast for her,

"I'm sorry mom I didn't look …"

"It was fun, don't apologize and congratulations in your coronation"

"Yeah yeah like you mean it"

"Of course I do I should be happy for you"

"Are you? Really? You kept ranting in and in about me finding my mate and getting married but I do not want to live like that mother my ambitions and dreams are say more than family"

"You re a lady do you know the chances of you retaining your position as alpha is really slim? The only reason I'm a little confident is because you have jade"

The image of me kissing jade passionately forms in my head as I nod it off, he had a disgusting on his face so why should I remember such a kiss?,

" Mum jade has his duties cut out for him and so do I, I should see no reason for mw go rely on him besides I win kun place as alpha fair and square why should I be bothered by some foggy old council leader"

"It seems you are all grown up and know the dynamics. Do you know how terrified I was when he called for a change? My boo …"she stops speaking coaching her chest really hard as well as her side panting heavily,

"Mum, mum what's wrong" I ask her nervously as I place my hand around her aides but no injury had occurred there,

"Your father, he is, danger, your father is in danger nadir"

She finally says, I pull her by the arm running towards the grounds we had gun but yes nowhere to be found,

Mum moves slowly towards a cornered exist she just feel him through the mate bond as I walk behind her carefully hoping it's not what I think,

My excitement fades away alongside my happiness as I see my father covered in blood laying helplessly on the floor"

"Father" I call out but he seems to be far gone, I rush towards him placing his head on my laps,

"Run , run" he says as he closes his eyes shut breathing his last,

My mother lets out a loud howl as she can feel the mate bond break, soon enough we are surrounded by the few people left in the training grounds,

Tears runs down my eyes as dad's body turn cold,

"You should not cry agni you are alpha now and alpha's aren't permitted to cry you just take place immediately one slight break and know they are after you"

I wipe off my tears immediately knowing what gowns by they, i sob the pain not ceasing by a minute,

My mother wails the more saying things and hitting in dad's body but all isn't audible to me as all I can see and hear us my dad's body and nothing more,

A sweet aroma finds its way into my nostrils luring me towards the direction of the woods,

I stand up like It had for me like a siren as I tilt my head to the direction of the scent,

I walk past the guards who gives way for immediately a si can feel everyone's hot gazes behind me,

I look around to see everyone looking at me with eyes full of worry thinking im off to cry or commit suicide but as much as I h love to I just can't betray my dad,

The scent fills my nostrils the more as I move deeper into the woods, I feel confused as I do not understand all that is happening to me, the pain I feel for my father's death leaves me all of a sudden,

I stop on sight of a man in every way handsome and by every means fit, his green eyes calls out to me as he becomes appealing to my sight,

"MATE" he calls out to me.
