“Shut it! I don’t want to hear anything,” Father boomed.

I froze in place, unable to speak as my mouth and throat went dry. I could feel my father’s rage in the air and the tension sought to consume me completely.

“Why the hell is that bastard still alive?! Huh?! And why the fuck were you with him?!”

I swallowed hard. “Father, I-“

“Do you know why he has done to us?! Do you see my arms, my skin?! Do you see how bruised it is?! He has kept us here, in this inhabitable place and barely feeds us! Uoy3 mother is not healthy and he barely does anything to help that!”

My father screamed and hurled curses at my face. My knees began to buckle, threatening to give out on me. I found not handle the weight of how words and the pressure in the air. But I needed to convince him, just like I had promised Killian.

“Killian isn’t as bad as you’re painting him our to-“

She might actually give you a chance and open up to you.”Celeste grimaced and shook her head slowly. “I don’t think that will work. HAZEL’S POVMy heart raced as I stood in front of the mirror. I knew I was staring at the mirror, but my reflection was blurred. My face looked blurry, but I could still see the black, plain dress I had on, through my reflection. Why was my head a mess? Was it because the burial was today?I exhaled, my racing heart thumping harder in my chest. I could not understand why anxiety was so rampant in me. Why should I be anxious? It was just the funeral and nothing more. I walked away from the mirror and began to pace around.“Dress check, jewelry check, um bag...”I looked to my arm and my bag was no where to be found. Where was my shoulder purse? I looked around the room, the bed and to every single place I could’ve possibly kept it, but my bag was nowhere in sight. Why did I put it?I began to head to the wardrobe, when Killian pulled me back.“Hazel, you forgot your earring,” He said, as he turned me to face him.I frowned, and touched my ear. KILLIAN’S POVI sat at the edge of the bed, my eyes fixed on Hazel’s sleeping form. Her face was still, and her breathing soft and barely audible. Compared to how troubled she looked yesterday, she looked at peace. I sighed, brushing a finger against her cheek.Hazel flinched, which made me withdraw my hand immediately. My heart broke to a million pieces as I could not help but recall how she had reacted to me last night. The way she shunned me and gave me the cold shoulder was a heart wrenching thing to experience. But I knew, I understand why she was like that. She was not in a very stable mental state, and I needed to give her some space, but it hurt. I let out a soft sigh and pursed my lips tight together. As I sat there, I had no motivation to leave her and go to work, but I knew I had to it.Reluctantly, I dragged myself away from her side and walked to the door. I turned back, shooting her one last look before I slipped out of the door. I walked down the hallway, like a lifeles

LUCAS’S POVI walked through the streets of no man’s land, as I was too restless to sit in the room Fenrir had provided for me in his small house that could not even be called a pack house. Despite the amount of hate and the words that had been thrown at me, I was still eager and desperate to get Hazel back from Killian’s clutches.I walked down the streets deep in thought, when I began to hear snickers and side remarks. I paid it no mind, until I heard my name, through the crowd. I looked up from the floor and looked around as I stopped dead in my tracks. The bandits who were all around the desolated town has their eyes on me. They were looking at me from head to toe and giggling like I was a clown performing some comedic act for them. One of them even pointed at me and laughed out loud.“Look, it’s that pussy that wanted to kill himself for a woman that is taking another man’s dick!”Those words alone were enough to stir up the crowd. HazelI woke up to the sensation of something wet grazing my legs. My initial grogginess gave way to alertness, and I opened my eyes to see Killian between my thighs, his tongue tracing lazy circles on my skin. His eyes locked onto mine, and he smirked, his signature look that never failed to send shivers running marathon down my spine.“Good morning, beautiful,” he murmured, his voice deep and husky.“Killian,” I breathed, feeling a flush of heat spread through me. “What are you doing?”“What does it look like?” he replied with a mischievous glint in his eye. “I’m starting my day off right, with you.”“Wh-wh-what?”“That’s right, princess, I’m hungry.”“But I haven’t taken my bath yet!” I say weakly trying to squeeze myself away from him. Killian's POVMeanwhile, Hazel returned home, exhausted from her journey. She met Celeste on her way to her room, and they talked about how bad it was to have hated me all these years. Even though she didn't know what her father did to me, she was sure it must have been terrible for me to deserve that. They decided to talk better the next day because Hazel was tired and sleepy. At least that’s all I know from what my wolf picked up from listening in on the walls. She crept into the bedroom, not wanting to disturb me, but as she approached, she noticed I was having a nightmare. My eyes were closed tightly, but my face was twisted in anguish.Hazel's heart went out to me. She gently sat beside me and stroked my hair, trying to calm me down. LUCAS POV"My son, you should know by now that I have your best interest in heart. An elderly man stood up from his chair."Can we go on with the wedding, Lucas? You can settle whatever dispute it is later on. Just let things be. Whatever the issue is, the truth will out on its own.”Lucas turned with searching eyes to see the person who had just spoken."Then the truth will out now.” He turned back to Fenrir. Hazel"Margaret!" her mother screamed again. I ran in the direction of the screams, even as Ophelia yelled my name and Celeste pulled me towards herself."Oomph," I muffled a groan as my nose made contact with Celeste's collarbone."Are you insane? What are you doing?" Ophelia asked as she reached me. I pulled my head away from Celeste and glared at her."Margaret," I gasped out to Ophelia once Celeste lowered her eyes. "She's a little girl I met a few days ago. I walked her home. I need to find her."Celeste let go of me and folded her arms across her chest. "Forgive me," she said with hard eyes. "But there is no way I’d let you go anywhere. Didn't you hear anything I said?"I rolled my eyes and looked at her. "Yes, I heard you. But there's a little girl out there. Do you want me to just forget and not even try to find her?" She gestured for me to follow just after her.“Go,” Riley said as she pushed me inside after my mother, causing me to nearly stumble when I caught the face of my father in the kitchen. My father's hands were behind his back. Very briefly, he glanced at me.“She’s beautiful,” my father said. He paused for a moment. “One more thing,” he said just as he was about to walk away. “He must not know. Then again, it doesn’t really matter to me if he finds out or not. This marriage must take place. Do you hear me?” My father asked, glaring at me, his eyes glowing just a little bit.Werewolf tricks don’t work on me, I wanted to say, but I kept my mouth shut. In fact, I could tell he probably hated all his daughters, at least the ones he knew of."I have good news."I turned away from my window and looked at my mother."What now?" I turned to look at the now wrinkled face of my mother. I remembered her looking so young, but now I changed my mind."Your father picked you." She came and caressed my face."For what?" I shrugged out of her touch, as had become a habit recently."Oh, come on," she said, shooing me away. "You know you want your father to look at you in some way, and now he has. So, he picked you.""To do what?" I scoffed. The woman didn't see this, though she was listening. She turned around my room, talking about how lucky I was to be the one that my father remembered."Are we talking about the same person who doesn’t even know my name or yours?" I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding once I saw her coming back into the room."What?" She placed the cup on the table and stared at both of us."I thought you walked out on us. I thought you were angry," Ophelia said."I was. But now I'm not so much. Besides, everybody has to move on at some point." She added as she sat down and took a sip of the cup before reeling in shock and pouring everything back into the glass. "That is disgusting," she announced as she wiped her chin."Only because you don't know how to make a proper cup of tea," Ophelia remarked and marched straight into the kitchen.
