HAZEL’S POV
Anxiety hung heavy over me as I reviewed everything Celeste had told me to do. We had concocted a plan, but I was extremely worried on whether or not I would be able to execute it properly.
I paced around my room, biting my fingernails as worry filled my mind. Would this plan go well? Would I be able to execute it flawlessly? What if I completely messed it up? I couldn’t stop these questions from plaguing my mind.
“I can smell your anxiety all the way from here.”
I turned to see Celeste walking out of the bathroom. She flopped down on the bed a s titled her head at me.
“So? Are you ready for this?”
“Do I Look like I’m ready? I don’t even think I can do this. What if I mess up Celeste? What if things don’t go as planned?”
Celeste sighed and rose up from the bed. She walked up to me and placed her hands on my shoulder.
“Look, I trust you, because
KILLIAN’S POVHazel’s ashen and shock stricken face did not pull at my heart strings, instead it brought me some kind of joy. The silver knife I held, was placed on her throat, the blade a few inches away from her skin.“I noticed something was off when I smelt the fruit juice you gave me. I could smell the poison in it. I never had plans to drink it, but I wanted to play along and see what you would do,” I said.Hazel’s body began to shake and she remained tranquil.“I waited for you, I waited to see if you would say something before I drank the juice, but when you just stood there looking at me, I decided to speak up, but you already yelled at me to stop.”I put the knife closer to her throat. “I was willing to let you go after that you know, but a part of me had worries and doubts. I decided to test you. I was the one that left the knife out in the kitchen, and you took the bait, just like I had an
HAZEL’S POV“Let go! You’re hurting me!”My voice rung through the walls as I was being pulled by my hair down a set or stairs. My skin was scrapping the floor, and it stung harshly. These men could care less about how much bruises I was getting.I kicked my feet and trashed around, as I gripped the hand of the guards that held on to my hair tightly. I tried to claw my way out of his grip, but it was impossible. We reached the end of the stairs and I dug my nails into his wrist so hard, I began to see blood pooling out.He cried out in pain and let go of me. Seizing the opportunity now that I was free, I began to crawl up the stairs at an incredible speed. Once I saw the top of the stairs, hope flashed in my eyes.I could escape. That hope died down almost immediately, as I felt hands grab on to me hair again. I was dragged, once again harshly down the stairs and I shrieked at the top of my lungs, as pain pricked at m
HAZELA sharp, hot pain rang through my arm, and it was then I realized what I had just done. The shard of broken plate was still infused in my hand, and slowly, a red crimson liquid began to pool out from the wound.Drop, by drop, my blood formed a large pool on the floor. It felt like my life force, was being sucked out of me. All the muscles in my body grew weaker, and weaker. Cold seeped in and my vision began to tunnel. I stretched my hand out to the guards, who were still chuckling in front of me.“H-Help me,” My voice quaked. This was a bad idea. How did I think slitting my wrist was a good idea? All I wanted was Killian’s attention, was I going to lose my life over him?More blood pooled out of my arm, and my body was growing weaker by the second. My vision blurred and I summoned all the strength I had in me.“Please! Can’t you see I’m bleeding! I need help!” I yelled at the top of my lungs. My shrieking finally got their attention, and they looked at me. Through my blurred vi
KILLIAN’S POVMy blood boiled with anger as I exited the hospital building. I was fuming and I couldn’t seem to calm down. I needed to cool down, and calm my racing mind, or I would go on a rampage and kill someone. The gym was the first and only place that came to mind. I breezed into the pack house and walked briskly to the gym. The barbells were the first thing I set my eyes on. I walked over to the largest one and picked it up immediately. My muscles burned underneath the pressure and I could feel all the anger in me, channelling into the weight. I lifted it up and down a few down, until the burns in my muscle became unbearable. With a loud grunt, I slammed the weight down to the ground, the sound echoing through the gym. These weight were not enough to calm me down, as the anger inside me was nowhere near subsiding.I moved to the punching bags and began to throw several blows on it in a repeated manner. I channeled all the strength I had into the punching bag, making it swung na
Orion shifted uncomfortably, as he sat on his chair, at the corner of Killian’s office. His mind was plagued with worries, worries that involved Killian. This auction Killian has set up, did not sit right him.He knew how much of a mess Killian had gotten himself into, just because he agreed and set up this auction. Orion sighed heavily and laid his head back on the chair. The office receiver began to buzz loudly. His eyes flickered to it and a grim feeling stretched across his chest. Orion knew who this call was from, he had been getting them all day, but make sure to ignore them. Now, they were getting more persistent. He watched the receiver ring for a while, with the intention of letting it ring until it disconnected, but there was this nagging feeling at the back of his mind, probing him to pick it up. Orion grimaced and slowly picked up the receiver.“Finally you picked up. What is alpha Killian saying about the auction?” a loud bubbly voice boomed from the other end of the line
HAZEL’S POVThe cell doors creaked open, the loud noise rousing me from my slumber. My body ached as I pushed myself up from the ground, my vision blurring as my eyes slid open. Rubbing my eyes, my gaze landed on two guards, walking up to me.“Get up,” one of them growled.I began to shuffle back, my eyes darting my guard to guard.“What do you want? Leave me alone!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. The guards ignored my screaming and grabbed my arm. They both pulled me up and began to drag me out of the cell. Anxiety, fear, these emotions ran through my entire being. Where were they taking me? Why was I being dragged out of this cell?Fear made my body act on its own. I began to struggle against their grip, but the difference in strength was evident. They held on to me firmly, despite my struggles and it only caused me more pain.I decided to watch and observe where they were taking me to. I was taking out of the cell and away from the pack house. Just a few metres ahead, there was
KILLIAN’S POV“Alpha, are you sure this a good idea?” Orion asked. My eyes, which were fixed outside the window, slowly turned to him. “What are you talking about?”Orion looked a bit hesitant, but he spoke up regardless. “I am referring to Hazel and the auction. Don’t you think selling her to all those perverted men is too much?”“And why does it matter to you?” I asked.Orion shrugged. “It just seemed best inhumane to something like this.”I cocked my head to the side. “It seems you have forgotten what she did. That bitch tried to kill me!”Orion went grim. “I understand that, but I think this is going to far alpha. Does she really deserve to be sold like this?”I scoffed, my eyes switching to the window and the passing scenery.“She deserves whatever is happening to her right now.” I said bluntly.Orion did not push further and remained silent. The car engine roared underneath us and that was a great way to describe the anger that was still fresh inside of me. Hazel had caused me s
HAZEL’S POVReliefThe way it washed over me at the sight of Lucas in the crowd was alarming. I had never felt so relieved in my life. My eyes blurred with tears when I saw him. I tried my best to bread from the restraints that held me down to the bed, but the more I struggled, the more difficult it got.Just as I kept struggling, everything went downhill. The moment Killian signalled for the guards to kill Lucas, my heart dropped. Lucas was cornered, and he had no one to help him. My anxiety and fear was rising and I kept my eyes fixed on him intently.I moved my hands as I tried to break through the chains that held me down to the bed, but I was not strong enough to do so. I was getting frantic, as I struggled to break free again, and again. A loud thud drew my attention to the crowd and the sound of everyone screaming and running away filled the air.I looked, and my heart dropped when I saw Killian, standing in front of Lucas. The tension in the air tripled and I could feel sheer
HazelI woke up to the sensation of something wet grazing my legs. My initial grogginess gave way to alertness, and I opened my eyes to see Killian between my thighs, his tongue tracing lazy circles on my skin. His eyes locked onto mine, and he smirked, his signature look that never failed to send shivers running marathon down my spine.“Good morning, beautiful,” he murmured, his voice deep and husky.“Killian,” I breathed, feeling a flush of heat spread through me. “What are you doing?”“What does it look like?” he replied with a mischievous glint in his eye. “I’m starting my day off right, with you.”“Wh-wh-what?”“That’s right, princess, I’m hungry.”“But I haven’t taken my bath yet!” I say weakly trying to squeeze myself away from him. Deep down I don’t want to. I want to stay right there, positioned at the place that would be most comfortable for him to eat the fuck out of me.He lowered his head and resumed his ministrations, his tongue teasing the sensitive skin of my inner thi
Killian's POVMeanwhile, Hazel returned home, exhausted from her journey. She met Celeste on her way to her room, and they talked about how bad it was to have hated me all these years. Even though she didn't know what her father did to me, she was sure it must have been terrible for me to deserve that. They decided to talk better the next day because Hazel was tired and sleepy. At least that’s all I know from what my wolf picked up from listening in on the walls. She crept into the bedroom, not wanting to disturb me, but as she approached, she noticed I was having a nightmare. My eyes were closed tightly, but my face was twisted in anguish.Hazel's heart went out to me. She gently sat beside me and stroked my hair, trying to calm me down. I murmured her name, my voice barely audible."Hazel...please..."Hazel's touch seemed to soothe me, and I slowly woke up. My eyes locked onto hers, filled with deep sadness."I'm sorry," I whispered through my tears. "I didn't mean to..." I don’t cr
LUCAS POV"My son, you should know by now that I have your best interest in heart. I'm sure that both of you will make a wonderful couple" Alpha Fenrir said with a corny and warm smile while I controlled the urge to snort at him in anger." This is not our agreement, you told me that I'll get married to Hazel not this wolf less, weak and lowly daughter of yours! " I snapped trying to control the anger coursing through my veins."I know that I promised you that you'll get married to Hazel but I just realized that hazel won't be a great Luna and I'm sure that you want a great Luna who will love you and bear your offsprings " he replied with a grin that looked so fake that I felt like a fool for trusting this man so much up till this extent."I don't understand why you're doing this. You say one thing, but your actions say another. Why can't you stop been this way? It fucks me up!" I yelled at his faceThe alpha's smile faltered, revealing a snarl. "How dare you question me, Lucas! I'm y
LUCAS"Talk?” Fenrir asked with a raised eyebrow. "What do you mean talk? Haven't you accepted Diana as your mate?”Lucas clenched his fists."Maybe I'm too late with this decision but all of your tyranny ends - here and now!”The guests began to move uncomfortably in their seats. An elderly man stood up from his chair."Can we go on with the wedding, Lucas? You can settle whatever dispute it is later on. Just let things be. Whatever the issue is, the truth will out on its own.”Lucas turned with searching eyes to see the person who had just spoken."Then the truth will out now.” He turned back to Fenrir. "You are Diana's father!” His voice bounced off the walls as silence fell on the guests. Gasps of horror came from various angles. Diana began to hyperventilate. Diana's mother jolted in shock and closed her eyes as the shame of the unexpected revelation washed over her.Fenrir braced himself though he was taken by surprise at Lucas' announcement.“Slander! You have no proof of that,
HAZEL“Wait! Stop! Stop!"The guests began to murmur among themselves as the bride made her way to the front. Lucas looks her over again and his wolf is unsettled.“What is it?" He whispers to his wolf.“She doesn't have a wolf. I can't sense her."Then it dawned on Lucas. What's this all about? Has he tricked me? Just then, Diana looked up, suddenly feeling a pang of guilt as her face colored in embarrassment behind her veil.“Is anything the problem, my lord?" She asked Lucas in a shaky voice. But Lucas' gaze was far from fixed on her. He had his eyes on Fenrir. This game of his wasn't worth putting his best foot forward and he showed his lowly regard for him by giving Diana to him in marriage. Well played.Fenrir, who stood at the back of the hall, had a sly smile playing out on his lips with a glint of amusement in his eyes. Of course, Lucas couldn't miss this but he couldn't play smartass here.Diana's mother began to panic.“What's going on?" She whimpered to no one in particula
Hazel"Margaret!" her mother screamed again. I ran in the direction of the screams, even as Ophelia yelled my name and Celeste pulled me towards herself."Oomph," I muffled a groan as my nose made contact with Celeste's collarbone."Are you insane? What are you doing?" Ophelia asked as she reached me. I pulled my head away from Celeste and glared at her."Margaret," I gasped out to Ophelia once Celeste lowered her eyes. "She's a little girl I met a few days ago. I walked her home. I need to find her."Celeste let go of me and folded her arms across her chest. "Forgive me," she said with hard eyes. "But there is no way I’d let you go anywhere. Didn't you hear anything I said?"I rolled my eyes and looked at her. "Yes, I heard you. But there's a little girl out there. Do you want me to just forget and not even try to find her?" I could feel the anger bubbling inside."What I believe she's trying to say," Ophelia placed a hand on my shoulder, calming me instantly, "is that we need to thi
DianaI suddenly turned around and placed my hands behind my back to stop myself from biting my fingers. “There she is,” my mother said, smiling. She gestured for me to follow just after her.“Go,” Riley said as she pushed me inside after my mother, causing me to nearly stumble when I caught the face of my father in the kitchen. My father's hands were behind his back. Very briefly, he glanced at me.“She’s beautiful,” my father said. He paused for a moment. “One more thing,” he said just as he was about to walk away. “He must not know. Then again, it doesn’t really matter to me if he finds out or not. This marriage must take place. Do you hear me?” My father asked, glaring at me, his eyes glowing just a little bit.Werewolf tricks don’t work on me, I wanted to say, but I kept my mouth shut. The last thing I wanted was to have all my plans ruined because of my big mouth. I watched him as he turned to my mother and shot her a small smile that seemed to light her up. Suddenly, she didn’t
DianaI could tell he hated me. In fact, I could tell he probably hated all his daughters, at least the ones he knew of."I have good news."I turned away from my window and looked at my mother."What now?" I turned to look at the now wrinkled face of my mother. I remembered her looking so young, but now I changed my mind."Your father picked you." She came and caressed my face."For what?" I shrugged out of her touch, as had become a habit recently."Oh, come on," she said, shooing me away. "You know you want your father to look at you in some way, and now he has. So, he picked you.""To do what?" I scoffed. The woman didn't see this, though she was listening. She turned around my room, talking about how lucky I was to be the one that my father remembered."Are we talking about the same person who doesn’t even know my name or yours?" I raised my eyebrows at her. She stopped her pacing and then turned to me."That's rude." She pointed a finger in my direction. "We both knew it was goi
Hazel"It's not as easy as you make it sound," my maid said in a soft whisper that caused both Ophelia and me to turn to her. "I thought of him as a good man for you. Hearing this now just feels like a stab. You might as well just kill me." She rolled her eyes, got up, and left briefly, returning with a cup of tea. I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding once I saw her coming back into the room."What?" She placed the cup on the table and stared at both of us."I thought you walked out on us. I thought you were angry," Ophelia said."I was. But now I'm not so much. Besides, everybody has to move on at some point." She added as she sat down and took a sip of the cup before reeling in shock and pouring everything back into the glass. "That is disgusting," she announced as she wiped her chin."Only because you don't know how to make a proper cup of tea," Ophelia remarked and marched straight into the kitchen. I simply stared at my maid, thinking about her words."What?" she a
