Christopher.

Ingrid's words surprised me, but they made some sense. That was the only reason why she was pleading with Aida. I would be mad if this was true because she had put my pack in disarray. I could not go to meetings and train as usual. The three days were hectic, and the news about the loss of the pregnancy was heart-wrenching. I prayed for her sake that Ingrid was lying, but again, Ingrid had tried to frame Willow, someone she shouldn't have an issue with. Only Aida knew Willow was my fated, and that was because I told her. There was a possibility Ingrid was telling the truth.

"Speak!" I ordered Ingrid, who had fear in her eyes.

"You will allow her to tell more lies?" Aida said, trying to stop me.

"Just now, you said you believed her. Why did you switch all of a sudden?" I asked Aida, and she was silent. There was no way this could be done in private because it was already a public show and the pack members deserved an explanation.

Christopher. I got a summon from the werewolf king two days after the incident. I did not need to guess what had happened. My wife must have reported me to her father, and he was calling me to settle the matter. There wasn't an issue to resolve, but I needed to honour his invitation, or it would be seen as disrespectful on my part. I stepped out of the shower in the morning and saw Aida lying naked on the bed, trying to get me to sleep with her. I was yet to forgive her for humiliating us in the pack. "I can't get pregnant like this, Christopher," She teased, and I smiled. "I guess you feel guilty for your actions. Unfortunately, I am not in the mood. Since you have decided to report me to your father, there is no need for reconciliation," I said, and her smile dropped. It was quite low of her to think that she could do this and everything would be okay. I left her to go to train in the garden. While I walked, I wondered what Willow was up to. Since the incident, she had stayed a

Willow. A month passed, and everything happened as in the past. Christopher wasn't around much. There were some changes. In this life, Luis bugged me so much, and Ingrid was out of my hair. Because Ingrid was now afraid of me, no one was setting me up, and I wasn't getting into trouble. The pack members liked me, and no one knew I was Christopher's fated. Aida had lost the favour of the pack members, and they only respected her because she was luna. All I had to do was flip the narrative of the theft. Exposing her affair with Mark would be easier with all this in place. They had been elusive, and since Christopher wasn't always around, Mark wasn't around either. We were still on borrowed time, and I did not know when we would finally win. I was worried that time was going, and I was still unsure what would happen when my time was up. "Tonight will be the second new moon, Willow," Raya reminded me, and I knew why. It was a timestamp. This time in the past, Luis and Christopher were p

Christopher I felt pain in my body. I was somehow trapped in my head. I knew I should get up to move, but I couldn't. The attackers were coming, and Mark was nowhere near us. "Can you get up?" I asked Luis, and he managed to get on his feet. "I can't shift Alpha. I think we have been poisoned," Luis said, and I knew we were doomed. Who would have poisoned us? We had gone for a territorial meeting and were on our way back. How did we ingest the poison? Mark wanted to go so we had to park the car. We were close to Rain Pack, so I didn't think much of it until my legs gave out, and I felt paralysed. I heard the howls and growls of wolves, but I couldn't help myself. I hoped some guards would be on patrol and come our way. "We have to try," I told Luis. This wasn't how I was going to die. We managed to get on our feet and grow our claws to defend ourselves. I called Mark several times, but he did not respond. The wolves smelled familiar. They smelled like a place I knew, but my mind w

Willow. As the new pack healer, Christopher and I spent much time together. He always faked sickness, so I would attend to him. He confessed several times that he just wanted to be near me, and I found it cute. We almost kissed a few times, and he pleaded with me to break things off with the Gamma. Luna Aida was out of my hair, but I knew she and Mark were plotting. I just had to be patient to wait and counter them. We were getting into the month when I was to catch them together. So far, fate had altered something, and Luis was a big issue for me because he was an anomaly. He wasn't meant to be alive, but there was no way I could save Christorpher without saving him. Because of him, the first event of catching Aida with Mark did not work out because he asked me to walk with him in the park. I might have to break up with him to focus on my task. It was now two months and three weeks. I wished I could just walk up to Christopher and tell him, 'hey, your luna and Beta are fucking, and t

Willow. I went to bed confused. I never imagined things would go this way between Christopher and me. I had a plan. Save him and redeem my wolf and me. Falling in love wasn't part of the plan. Every time I am near him, I get butterflies in my tummy. I know it is wrong, and I shouldn't be feeling anything for him, but the feelings keep coming, and there is nothing I can do about it. I notice everything about him. Sometimes, I want to crawl into his arms and remain there. What happened in the woods was part of my fantasy, and I wished I had the heart to linger and go all the way with him, but I knew it would complicate things between us, and I did not want that. I wanted to handle Aida and Mark unbiased. There was also the uncertainty of what would happen to me when my time was up. I needed to save Christopher just as I was instructed, and that was what I would focus on. "We must expose that bitch and take what is ours, Willow. Christorpher wants us; Jet wants us, do not say you can't

  • Once In The Dust   14 In the middle of It

Christopher When we started training, I looked out for Luis, but he was nowhere. I was worried. Not knowing where he was bothered me. I did not want him touching my mate. Since what transpired between Willow and me in the woods, I have been determined to make it work, which was why I slept in the office last night. Somehow I knew she would feel it if I touched Aida. The bond between us had fully repaired, and for that alone, I could not put her through pain, so I stayed away from Aida and hoped to find a way to end my marriage without causing issues with the werewolf king. People shouldn't have to lose their lives because I want to be with my fated. I knew there would be a better way and intended to find that way. I finally saw Luis coming from the garden. "Proposed?" Mark asked him, and he shook his head. "Not yet," he said and looked at me. I wondered why Willow did not end it with him. Was she afraid of doing it? I knew it was cowardly for me to ask her to do it. I guess I will

  • Once In The Dust   15 And I Knew I Was In Trouble.

Willow. I had a mental meltdown in the early hours of the morning, and I did not know when I found my way to Luis's room. It shouldn't hurt. I shouldn't feel affected by Aida's pregnancy, but I was. I knew it wasn't Christopher's baby, but I was affected by it. The pregnancy thing came up earlier than in the past. I guess certain things had shifted. What baffled me was that I was yet to catch Aida and Mark together. I needed to catch them to know how I could expose them. I began to fear I might fail. I did not understand why I was overwhelmed with fear, but I was. "We wanted to spend time with him yesterday," Raya said with sadness, and I could understand. Even though I knew what was about to happen, I wanted to spend time with him. I knocked on Luis's door, and he answered. He was shirtless and sleepy. I must have woken him from his sleep. I shouldn't have come, but I wasn't thinking. I turned to leave. "Willow," he said with concern, and I began to cry. I needed an outlet. When it

Willow, Christopher's shock was obvious. I wasn't supposed to be there. I knew Aida had sprung this on him. Unfortunately, I dared not say no. I needed to find a way to survive the event without an episode. "What are you doing here?" Christopher asked me, while my head was still bowed. I looked up to answer him. "Princess Aida put me in charge of her diet and tea," I said aloud, and Christopher looked at her. From his eyes, he knew she was up to no good. I served Aida the tea and went further to serve the king and everyone else. "She is a healer and not a servant," Christopher cautioned Aida after I served them and stood at the corner to await the next order. "Your fated that became a servant, and then a healer should serve us when I request it," She said, and the king looked at me with a tinge of rage, but lust overshadowed it. I guess he had a thing for pretty girls. "She rejected me, and I accepted. You were there; what is the matter with you, Aida?" Christopher asked her. "

WillowMy parents got married three days after we arrived at the palace. My father did not want to waste time anymore, and my mother was surprised that she was speechless by all that had happened. She did not talk much about it; I knew it was because she did not know where to start, but our actions let her know we weren't lying. My uncle Devin attended their wedding along with the two kings and All the alphas in our world. Alpha Devin remembered all that transpired because he was a general. He was happy that his sister was alive this time around. All our devotion, loyalty and respect for Selene increased because she restored all we had lost and blessed us immensely for our faithfulness and service. This was better than anything Apate would have given us had we helped the evil thing to win. We were grateful. We left the Lycan Kingdom a week later to prepare for our wedding, which would take place in the Lycan kingdom in a week. We had to return to Rain pack to finalise the divor

Willow.Christopher made love to me sweetly. There was no urgency in his passion, and he took his time. I loved it. Not having a clock over my head was relieving, and I was grateful. When Christopher told me what Selene told him about the gift she had given us, my heart soared. She had finally come through for all of us. Learning that the traitors did not return made me feel rewarded and happy. When I heard Lucien and all the traitors had been wiped away from history. It was as if they never existed, and all I could say was thank you and hoped she heard me.I woke up naked in Christopher's arms. I was a virgin again, so I was sore between my legs, but the pleasure was worth it. Everything we did to each other was worth it, and I could not wait to do everything with him. We had dinner in the room and made love some more.We stayed all day indoors until the next day.Having breakfast with the entire pack was awkward, especially when I had to sit at the high table as their Luna and

  • Once In The Dust   79 Into My Arms

ChristopherI watched Willow advance towards Irvin, and I was afraid of what she planned to do. She had said goodbye and had blocked me out of her mind. I was tired, but I began to fight like a rabid dog. My mate was walking to her death, and there was nothing I could do about it. Please, Selene. Don't let this be it. We have given everything; please do not let this be it," I said.My vision was a blur, but I could see what Willow was doing even though tears were streaming down my face. I noticed that the men had stopped fighting us and were only trying to block us from getting to Willow. I watched King Aaron openly call after her; fear was evident in his voice, but she wasn't listening anymore. Willow went to her knees, and Irvin gave her his hand to kiss. I did not know what she was doing, but it did not seem like it was part of our plan. She touched and kissed his hand, and then I felt the surge. Willow collapsed lifelessly on the ground, and Irvin held his head, screaming

  • Once In The Dust   78 Awake

Willow I opened my eyes as if I had been in a deep sleep. My vision was blurry, and I wondered if I was being judged or had been cast back into the underworld. There was something strange about my environment. It was warm and familiar. Though blurry, there was sunlight, and there was fresh air. I could smell waffles with strawberries, just like the type my mother used to make for breakfast in our cottage in Brent woods. Tears welled up in my eyes. Thinking my soul must be wandering through the vast sea of memories. What a way to live my eternal life."Raya," I called on my wolf."Willow," she replied, and I was glad we were still together. I wanted to laugh, and I wanted to cry at the same time. Where was Christopher? Was he fine? Did he forgive my sacrifice? Did it work, and were they living a normal life? I had so many questions, but I doubted this heaven would bring me answers. "Willow, get up; we have herbs to pick this morning," I heard my mother's voice, and I blinked a f

  • Once In The Dust   77 The Death of Champions

WillowI could not believe that Lucien had betrayed us. Never in my wildest dreams would I have believed that Lucien would do this to us. He had betrayed us and killed my father. This was a lesson learned a bit too late. I felt the cord connecting me to my father break, and I knew he was no longer with us. Raya told me to focus, but how could I when my heart was broken. I was mourning my father. Tears streamed down my cheeks even though I tried to hold them. Miles fought beside me, and I wondered how his king could be so stupid. I could feel Miles' devotion; he was ready to die beside me.We slashed and cut through the attackers, a mix of the zombies and our treacherous people, and we moved swiftly. I knew Mark and Aida were no more, and I wondered who would fall next."We are all coming towards you so Irvin can come towards you. He seems to be avoiding you," Christopher said, and I did not need to guess why. Irvin was representing Apate, while I was representing Selene. He did

  • Once In The Dust   76 At War

Christopher It happened suddenly. We were asleep when Mark alerted me that we were under attack. My stomach churned because the time was upon us. The battle Willow told me about was finally here. The struggle for survival and freedom. Our kind would be extinct if we lost this battle, but her vision still showed a total wipeout. As worried as I was, there was no escaping it anymore. They were here, and they were ready. I planned to fight to survive to spend the rest of Willow's time in peace. Still, If I lost my life in the process, I was willing to take out as many people as possible for the survival of my kind. As the general of this war, it was my duty to ensure we won. Willow was awake, and I could see she knew from her eyes. Words did not need to be spoken between us. We both knew it was time. She kissed me and reached for her ultraviolet blade. Her light had a limit, and we knew it limited her strength; it would have to be her last resort because her life force was use

  • Once In The Dust   75 Move To Neeami

WillowTwo months and two weeks passed from the meeting with the alphas in Rain pack. Our training was rigorous, and I had moved to stock more provisions in the shelters so our people would have provisions if the war lasted longer than it should. The alphas that opted to converse with Irvin had nothing good to say. Some of their scouts found their location, but they were never able to return so we could trace and figure it out. Alfredo received a reply from Irvin, stating that he should join up or die. It meant we were back to the original solution that I had proffered from the onset. Our training was rigorous, and a new type of panic overcame me as time drew nearer. I was having serious issues accepting that my time was almost up. I also kept seeing our doom and the death of many people, which was not good. According to my visions, there was a complete wipeout, and I was trying to figure out how best to avoid it. Ultraviolet ammunition was prepared. It came in the form of larg

  • Once In The Dust   74 Conflicts and plans

Willow Rain pack was the way we left it. Mark and Garnett did a good job, and Luis seemed to have eased in when he returned. The people were happy to see us and confessed that no one had dared to attack them since the last attack. We had sent a strong message with that last attack, so I knew it would be unwise for Irvin to send more of his people to die. While Christopher handled the military and engineering section, I dealt with the shelter with the help of Aida. As much as I hated working with her, I had to let it be. Seeing that Apate tried to use my pain to make me cross over made me force myself to get along with Aida. She knew how to handle Luna matters, so I had to allow her to help me put the shelter together. There was a lot of awkwardness between us, but we tried to make it work. After one week, the shelters were finally in the best shape, and we asked the rest of the civilians living above ground to move there. I couldn't tell if my pack was infiltrated, but I ju

  • Once In The Dust   73 Preparations and Implementation

Willow I woke up, and the room was foggy. Everything that happened in the woods returned to me, and I was afraid. I would have turned my back on everything I was fighting for if Raya had not come through. Apate spoke my truth and voiced out my pains and fears. The offer was tempting. I would do anything to live beyond a year. To carry my children and to raise them. To grow old with Christopher and to spend more time with my father. I would do anything for it. I was paying a very steep price which was my life. I looked to my left, and Christopher was sitting on a chair looking at me. He was wearing joggers, and I looked at my body. They had clothed me in a gown. I was a bit confused because we were both down. I wondered how come he recovered faster than me. "Darling," he said to me with worry in his eyes, and I gently sat up in bed. "How long was I out?" I asked him. " A day," he said, and I touched my tummy, worried about my injections. "Dr Melvin attended to you," he sai
