EVOLET
I can’t believe he came after turning me down. And he’s small?
“You can shrink your size? What happened to your majestic form?” I asked, rising from the ground. Cadell rolled his eyes at me but didn’t voice out. Seems someone is playing the silent treatment. Still, I’m so happy that he’s here. I feel much better. “What’s that wolf doing there?” “Isn’t that a forest wolf? How did it get into the pack?” Voices mumbled, fixing their attention on Cadell, who they mistook for a mere wolf that dwells far from we werewolves. I could hear the Beta ordering a guard to step in and take him away, only for my furious opponent to roar out in anger, coming at Cadell and I. Quickly, Cadell pushed me out of the way, as he dodge the werewolf, distracting it from attacking me. With no hesitation, he went head to head with my opponent, fighting her like a mad dog. When I saw she was distracted, I immediately ran up to her with boldness, using force to climb her back, wrapping my right arm around her neck. And the moment I had a good grip on her, I felt that vibration again, with strength circulating my body. With speed, I used that energy in tossing my opponent to the ground, leaving her face flat on the dust, I panted out, looking at the weak wolf, who transformed back to her human form, declaring the battle over! “Yes!” I heard Derby scream out in joy, as she clapped for me. I was still amazed by the turn of event. I won the battle when everyone concluded I would fail. When I stood straight, looking at the silent crowds with Cadell by my side… “YEESSS!!” The whole arena echoed with a satisfied audience, who chanted out loudly. This made me happy, as I lifted my right hand into the air, in victory. I looked towards the Queen and Alpha Allen’s direction, and met them gazing in surprise. “Seems this wolfless damsel stole the show after all.” I smiled, fixing my eyes at Allen, who had his gaze locked with me, causing my heart to glow. “That’s cheating!” Fiona shouted, stepping out. “She’s not the winner. She was helped by this nasty dog from the bushes. It’s against the rules!” she yelled, claiming I cheated. Cadell growled at Fiona while I glowered at her in anger, as she told the Queen and the people that I should be disqualified for my actions. “You lost, Evolet. You are no winner, “ she boldly said, crossing her arms. Having had enough of her nonsense, I said, “That’s in your eyes, Fiona. But I know I won this battle without cheating.” She rolled her eyes. “There’s no rule in the game that says no mere wolves allowed. Yes, I don’t know if I’ll ever summon my wolf, but the goddess summoned one for me, and that’s my pet,” I said, squatting down to caress Cadell. And he played along pretty well, acting like a normal wolf. “I took care of this wolf when it needed someone. I never brought him here, but the goddess did. She sent a helper to stand by this weak omega’s side, as her wolf,” I smiled at Cadell, as he stared into my eyes, looking happy. “So don’t vent your frustrations on me because you’re scared of what you just witnessed. You don’t scare me,” I said, glaring at Fiona while rising to my feet. She was mad at my words and still tried to get others to support her, saying, “The rule says every damsels should show off their wolves, not pets!” “My Queen, isn’t that part of being a Luna?” she asked Queen Chriselda, stepping forward. I looked at the Queen and saw how she stared at me in silence. The looks in her eyes made me worried. Why do I feel as if she’s going to side with Fiona? Just then, someone turned the tables in my favour. It was Derby! “The goal is for every damsel to show the royal family why they should be crowned Alpha Allen’s Luna, and Evolet just portrayed that by doing what late Luna Violet does. She’s friendly with other creatures and taught us to be at peace with them. Evolet has just displayed that through this wolf. She never called it, but it sensed her worry and came over,” Derby said, silencing Fiona and the people. I was marveled by her intervention. She’s a genius. “Hmm, that’s true. She did amaze us with her pet,” the Queen said, taking Derby’s words into consideration. And just like that… “The wolf can stay, since this damsel has displayed one of our late Queen’s attribute. Very impressive,” the Queen said, smiling at me. Joy, I happily bowed at the queen, dashing into Derby’s arms for a hug. She just saved my ass. Fiona was mad to hear this. She walked out of the arena in anger, glaring at us. I boldly stared back at her, knowing that she can no longer torment me because I can’t summon my wolf. I have Cadell with me, and he will help me in every other games to come. After the battle, the damsels that won where assigned to stay in special rooms prepared for us by the Queen. As we were making our way to the mansion, I spotted my mother standing at a corner, looking directly at me. “Mom,” I uttered, feeling emotions engulfing my body. I never thought she would come to watch the game. I felt so glad to see her. Leaving the others, I rushed up to Mom and gave her a hug, which she didn’t refuse, even though she didn’t hold me back. “You came.” “Hmm,” she muttered, slowly pushing me off her body. I looked at my mother and saw anger. She’s still upset with me for going against her. And to show I was sorry, I took hold of her hands and apologized for my disobedience. “I know I’ve wronged you mom, but… but I made it in. And if I make it at the end, I’m going to…” “You really don’t know what you’re doing, Evolet,” she interrupted, swaying her head at me. I couldn’t understand why Mom was being this way, She was still against my entering into the Luna hunt. “One day you’ll understand why I didn’t want you joining,” she said. She was about to leave but paused on seeing wolf Cadell beside me, looking at her. She stared at him for a brief moment and said to me, “Good luck.” “Mom,” I called, but she walked away, leaving me heartbroken. “I only want to make us happy. I…” I lowered my head in sadness, before feeling Cadell’s head touching my hand. He cheered me with a smile, before with both went to join the others, heading to our room. . “Your room,” a maid of the mansion said, opening the door to a beautiful large room. I was mesmerized while stepping inside, admiring the interior and the big bed. “Dinner will be ready by nine. Don’t forget, my lady.” “Thank you,” I appreciated the maid, who left Cadell and I alone in the room. When she left, I locked the door with the key, turning over to gaze at my new bedroom. “Only me in this room? Wow!” I shrieked in delight, sitting on the bed to feel its softness. While I was doing this, a curious Cadell, still in his wolf form, began roaming around the room, like one who was searching for something. “I forgot you’re here as well,” I said, rolling my eyes at him. “What are you looking for?” I asked, noticing how he checked the bathroom, behind the bed, before the door. “You know, I like you better in this form than your human self.” I chuckled, leaning back a bit. All of a sudden, Cadell faced my direction and dashed at me! “AHH!” I screamed when he jumped right on me, pinning me down in bed. That’s when the room went dark in an instant, and wolf Cadell was now in his human form, staring into my eyes with a cunning smile on his face. My whole body shivered at the sight of his charm, as he used one hand in pinning both my hands above my head, gazing into my eyes in the darkness. “I believe you owe me something.” “Wh… what’s that?” I stammered, still lost in our stare. That’s when I felt his hand slowly caressing my lips, whispering, “A kiss.” My heart skipped when I heard that from him. His eyes shimmered with delight, as he slowly lowered his head down, taking hold of my chin, about to kiss me. I couldn’t voice out and stop Cadell. His charm left me speechless, stealing my voice. And just when our lips was about to connect… “Evolet!” “Derby?” I recognized the voice that called me from outside, getting my senses. With force, I pushed Cadell aside and ran towards the door in the darkness. When I turned around to tell him to change, the darkness vanished immediately. Cadell sat on the bed in his wolf form, shrinking his eyes at me. Thank the goddess Derby came. I would have kissed this perv! I opened the door and allowed Derby in. She was happy with our rooms, screaming in excitement. But when she tried to pet Cadell, the crazy fellow growled at her, hiding at my back. “Aww! He likes his mommy!” she giggled, while I frowned at this drama queen. “Yeah, he does,” I said, looking at a pleased Cadell. He’s enjoying this.QUEEN CHRISELDA“Thank the goddess for today’s game, my Queen. The performance from the damsels were more than what we expected,” Thelma said, following me towards the living room.I hummed, agreeing with what she just said. “Indeed, it was more than what we expected. Way too much,” I said, taking my mind to the strange damsel with the pet wolf.If not for her performance and the words of that lady, I would have eliminated her today. If my son is going to end up with the winner of this hunt, then the damsel must have a wolf, not a pet.A true Luna must be able to summon her beast, and that maiden can’t. “I bet she won’t last long,” I said, scoffing out.“Are you referring to the wolfless maiden from the arena?” Thelma asked, looking at me as we gradually drew closer to the living room.“Yes, that weak omega,” I answered.“Do you know what is funny, my Queen? That weakling was afraid to step out and fight when it was her turn. I was the one who pushed her out, and yet, she ended up ste
EVOLET“Thank you for staying, Derby. I was feeling kinda… lonely,” I said, holding Derby’s hands while glancing at the wolf laying his head on my lap, with a pervy smile across his face.Creep! If not for Derby that came over to see me, I wonder what Cadell would have done.He has been acting like a sick pup yearning for his mother’s touch, trying to get Derby to leave. But I wasn’t stupid. That’s a grown man pretending to be a wolf, fooling poor Derby into thinking he’s adorable and innocent. She almost left the room, but I stopped her by claiming to be lonely, so I won’t be left with Cadell. This creep has a lot of nasty things going on in that head of his.“It’s okay, Eve. I’m just happy that I have someone to talk. Honestly, I don’t have any friends. I’m just a loner who’s trying to fit in any group I find myself in,” Derby said with a smile, patting my shoulder. What she said reminded me of my own case. I don’t have friends. The one who pretended to be my bestie, turned out to b
EVOLET“Waw! This is beautiful!” I exclaimed at the sight of the beautiful large dining room.As the Queen had instructed, every Damsel that made it to the next round, came into the room in the dresses that she sent to us.I was putting on mine. A bright purple floral dress, which actually matches my name. Derby, who stood next to me at the dining room, wore a blue sparkling attire, gazing at the interior of the large room with happiness.“You can say that again. I think I’m going to explode!” she shrieked, grabbing my arm in excitement.I wanted to join her in this joyous moment, but it was ruined by Fiona, who cat walked into the dining in her own dress, a red and black floral attire.“Wow,” Derby and I had uttered on dropping our eyes on Fiona’s dress. It was the most beautiful gown in that room, outshining other maiden’s attire in the room.Other girls gawked at her sparkling dress, giving her all the attention she needed. And when Fiona was engulfed with this praises, she took a
EVOLETWhile everyone else were enjoying tonight’s dinner, I was sitting in my seat, feeling unwanted. My mood was ruined thanks to Fiona, who was stealing the Queen’s attention with her so-called angelic nature.Everything made me unhappy. Only Derby was trying to keep me smiling, until the end of the massive dinner with Queen Chriselda. As soon as it came to an end, I exited the room with derby, after the Queen left. All I wanted to do was get into my room, sleep, and forget about tonight’s dinner. But like always, someone had other plans for me.As soon as Derby and I reached a certain distance from the dining room, we heard from behind, “Where are you racing to, Queen Violet’s lookalike?”I stopped in my track on recognizing Fiona’s voice. I carefully turned around and found her with her minions, smirking directly at me, ready to ruin the remaining hours of the day for me.“What’s the matter? Are you feeling defeated already? It’s fine if you tell us how you feel, Eve. We all know
EVOLET“What?” I uttered at what Mom just said.Is that what she thinks?“Why that question? Do you think I’m dumb and don’t know the rules of that stupid game you tagged yourself in?” she questioned, glaring straight at me.“Just accept your failure, Eve. You lost the next round and came crawling to your mother, knowing quite well that I was right all along and you were wrong,” she scoffed, resuming with the arrangement. But she didn’t stop talking, or lets say attacking me emotionally.Mom chuckled and began to mimic my every words, when I stood up to her about my decision and desire to help our home. “We have a chance to escape this poverty. I believe I can be the Alpha’s Luna. What happened now?” she laughed, swaying her head. Her words broke my heart deeply. I didn’t know how to respond to this, but just gaze at her.She looked at me and finally said with a smile on her face, “Oh, don’t feel sad, Evolet. I’m still your mother. You don’t have to be worried about getting yourself a
EVOLET“He’s mine, huh? Sounds… tempting,”Cadell smirked, biting down on his lower lip, with his grip tightening around my waist. Why didn’t I see this coming?!I only wanted to ruin this big head’s moment with those ladies, but now I’m trapped in my own plan!“Let… me… go!” I struggled, pressing my hands against his rough and sweaty chest, while groaning out loud. But not too loud. I don’t want anyone recognizing me as one of the damsels in the Luna’s hunt. It might ruin my chance in the game, if they see me with a man.I kept pushing and hitting Cadell on the chest, but the perv wouldn’t let go. To him, “This is an opportunity for us, my sweet stalker,” he said, caressing my cheek while I shook my head, trying to prevent his sweaty paws from touching me any further.“This is a sign from the goddess, Evolet. Quit this hunt and run far away with me. Together, we’ll make the perfect couple. Me, your Perv, and you…” he drew his face closer to mine, “My innocent stalker. Isn’t that a won
EVOLET“Evicted? But what did we do?” I voiced out, stepping forward. The sudden notice wasn’t adding up in my head. Even though I was scared, my senses were still intact.“Excuse me? Are you questioning the Queen’s order?” Fiona questioned, stepping forward so she’d be seen by all.“You girls have been eliminated from the hunt, and you dare to question the Luna’s decision? How dare you?!” she raised her voice loudly.“Don’t misinterpret my words, Fiona. I only wish to know our offense. We haven’t done anything wrong, so why are we being kicked out of the hunt? At least we deserve an explanation. Isn’t that fair?” I asked, standing my ground. But that only annoyed Queen Chriselda and the Sorceress. I could see it in their gaze.“I think they deserve an explanation, my Queen. Please, what have they done?” Derby managed to voice out from behind, trying to help me.Her voice was heard by the Queen, who directed her gaze behind to look at Derby, sending fear into her heart.Derby lowered
EVOLETDespite their support for the Queen, the five damsels were still removed.Sorceress Thelma didn’t hesitate to cast a spell that vanished the ladies into thin air. Probably sending them back home, maybe.“You can all go inside. We meet again during dinner,” Queen Chriselda said, stealing a glance at me, before leaving with the sorceress. All the maidens were heading back into the mansion. Derby came over to hug me, expressing her joy in my luck, while Fiona glared at me with detest, before leaving with the others.“I thought you were going to leave me. I’m so glad that the Beta proved your innocence. You first us all to the mansion,” she cheered, embracing me tight.I gave out a smile, tracing my gaze to the one that rescued me from the Queen’s wrath. I need to know why he defended me. It has to be Allen’s doing.Seeing Beta Dean entering the mansion after the ladies, I excused myself from Derby and went after him.I wanted to call out to him, but I didn’t want the others, espec
