Jaxon didn't have to ask. Emory's reaction was exactly what he had expected. Her expression, the sparkle in her eyes, it was all more than enough to convey the joy she felt at the surprise he had prepared for her.

"Oh, Jaxon. This is so beautiful."

Jaxon couldn't help but smile as his lips curved upwards. "Of course," he said, captivated by the radiant happiness on Emory's face. He watched as her gaze remained fixed on the ring that now rested on her finger. "This is the Aegis Solis ring."

"The Aegis Solis ring?" Emory repeated, glancing briefly at Jaxon and catching his affirmative nod. "It is truly beautiful. I've never seen such an exquisite ring before."

Jaxon's smile widened, unable to resist the urge to indulge his ego. "Do you like the Aegis Solis ring?"

Emory lifted her gaze to stare at Jaxon with wide eyes. "Like it?" She clicked her tongue slightly. "I more than like it. I absolutely love it."

Jaxon's heart swelled at Emory's honesty. She wasn't the only one who was happy; h

Emory was convinced that every woman in the world would fall in love with the Aegis Solis ring at first sight. Not because of its luxury or expensive design, but because of the mysterious allure it held.At first glance, there seemed to be nothing special about the Aegis Solis ring. In fact, it could be described as plain. There were no dazzling diamonds reflecting rainbows or intricate details to suggest an exorbitant price. It was truly simple, yet strangely, it exuded an undeniable charm—a subtle beauty, almost like a secret that only the heart could understand. The Aegis Solis ring had a golden-yellow gemstone at its centre, small in size but seemingly alive whenever it caught the light. Its glow was soft and unobtrusive, much like the morning sunlight that greets with warmth rather than burning. The gem was encased in a thin metal frame, designed purely for protection. The ring itself was sleek and smooth, with a design of purity. Its band was simple, free of engraving or additio

Confusion clouded Pierce's mind as his late-night meeting with Emory drew to a close. He walked through the corridors of the palace, his mind racing with Emory's orders. Stopping all activities related to the Gardeno Pack was something he had never expected. After all, he had thought that this was exactly the time to keep the pressure on the Gardeno Pack. The Gardeno Pack could not be considered unstable. The wheat fields fire had undoubtedly cost them dearly, but it wouldn't have a significant effect on them. Still, their minds were certainly divided, and Emory should have used this opportunity to push them further.Pierce's footsteps came to an abrupt halt as someone suddenly appeared from behind a wall. "Alpha Myles."Myles grinned and approached Pierce. "Hello, Commander Pierce," he greeted in a tone that made Pierce frown. "Looks like you've just met Luna." He cast a quick glance towards Emory's office before confirming his assumption. "Am I right?""Yes," Pierce replied with a s

Emory had never felt so drained. Usually she was full of energy, no matter how many tasks piled up or how exhausted she was. She might feel tired, but she never felt completely drained—not like this. Even taking a breath seemed taxing, as if something was pressing down on her chest. She seemed devoid of her usual zest for life, which worried everyone around her, including Fernanda.Emory took a deep breath. She looked at the plate of snacks on her desk that Fernanda had just replaced. "I think I'm going to feel like this for the next five days, but don't worry. I'm not sick. I don't have any problems. I just..." She exhaled deeply. "...feel unmotivated.""That's the problem, Luna," Fernanda said, taking the untouched plate of snacks and putting it on the trolley. "You've looked unmotivated for the last two days. I've never seen you like this before. Is there something on your mind?"There is, Emory's answer was in her heart. I can't stop thinking about Jaxon.Emory closed her eyes, ho

Even the word shocked wouldn't be enough to describe Ramona's current state of mind. Her emotions were all over the place from the moment Emory began the conversation. She was shaken and, truthfully, had to admit that discussing true mates was not a topic she had anticipated. She really hadn't expected Emory to bring it up."Have you ever missed someone, Ramona?"Ramona blinked. She didn't answer the question because she had the feeling that Emory wasn't really expecting an answer. Instead, she just looked at Emory with a calm demeanour, ready to listen to whatever Emory had to say."To be honest, I've never felt longing before," Emory continued with a restrained grimace. There was a flicker of guilt in her eyes. "The worst thing is, I haven't missed Mama and Papa all this time, Ramona. I've lost them, but I've never missed them. At first, I didn't realise it. But then, that night, I dreamt of Mama." She paused, feeling the storm of emotions in her chest. "Since that night I've often

The dizziness still clung to him as Myles arrived at the palace. His world continued to spin slightly, the unsteady sensation making his steps wobble and nausea creep in. He quickly braced himself against a wall to keep his balance. An Omega approached him and asked politely, "Alpha, are you all right?"Myles closed his eyes and massaged his temples, hoping the dizziness would pass. "Yes, I'm fine," he replied with a broad grin. He looked at the Omega with an unfocused gaze, but one that radiated undeniable elation. "As a matter of fact, I've never felt better. It's been so long since I felt this alive."Myles could never forget the terrible tragedy that had occurred some two months earlier, when Emory had killed two of his women. Since then, he hadn't dared bring anyone to the palace for fun. Worse still, Emory's often unpredictable moods made him too afraid to take the risk of seeking pleasure outside the Palace. He didn't want to provoke her anger any further.Myles was tormented.

Cordelia jumped. She couldn't contain her shock at Jaxon's firm words. Her eyes widened in disbelief. "Jaxon," she murmured, shaking her head slightly. She struggled to find the right words, to convince herself that everything could still be fixed. Jaxon's firmness didn't necessarily mean the end of everything. "I didn't mean it like that. I just wanted you to meet Giselle, nothing more, nothing less, not to set you up with her."Jaxon narrowed his eyes, staring intently at Cordelia, his gaze piercing. "Is that true, Aunt?" he asked, his tone tinged with doubt. "Is it true that you only wanted to introduce us, not mate us?"Cordelia opened her mouth to reply to Jaxon's question, which felt more like an accusation. But Jaxon didn't give her a chance to defend herself."Please, Aunt. You're the person I trust the most in this world. So don't lie to me," Jaxon continued, frustration evident in his voice. His eyes were full of emotion. "I'm not stupid, Aunt. I can sense your intentions, y

Jaxon's brow furrowed, his eyebrows almost meeting in the centre. Confusion was written all over his face as the call he had just received ended.Jaxon exhaled briefly and put the phone down on the table. Then he sat in silence, seemingly lost in thought.Cordelia had called Jaxon a few moments ago. They had spoken briefly and everything had seemed normal—nothing out of the ordinary. After all, Cordelia contacted him often, usually to check on him directly. The conversation flowed naturally and seemed pleasant. They discussed a few things, and then Jaxon noticed something strange about the call.Cordelia had invited Jaxon to a restaurant for lunch. She said there was something she wanted to talk to him about in person, something she couldn't do over the phone.Cordelia’s reasoning was plausible. Jaxon also admitted that there were things that were better discussed face to face. But there was the rub.Cordelia didn't need an invitation or an appointment to have lunch with Jaxon. They w

Months had passed, yet the mornings remained devoid of peace. Even the sunlight streaming through the gaps in the curtains could no longer brighten the atmosphere. Instead, it accentuated the shadows lingering in the corners of the room. Everything felt gray, just like the heart perpetually cloaked in clouds.Restlessness had become the mainstay of daily life. Unease resembled a faithful companion, always present. Alongside it, a sense of foreboding crept in slowly, haunting her relentlessly, refusing to leave.Cordelia was tormented, crushed by an invisible weight that continued to shackle her. Her head throbbed, filled with wild, uninvited thoughts that came pouring in without end. She had tried to fend them off, but her efforts were in vain. The anxiety was too overpowering, gripping her mind like roots burrowing ever deeper.Cordelia's breathing grew heavy. The fresh morning air had turned into a dense fog filling her lungs. Emory was stunned. This time she didn't answer. Not because Denise's words were harsh, but because something had suddenly occurred to her without warning."Honestly, I hesitated at first. At one point I considered giving you a necklace instead. But then I remembered that night. You looked uncomfortable wearing a necklace. You kept fidgeting, touching your neck and the chain nervously. That's why I decided on a ring instead. Besides, the ring is already on your finger. So, there's no reason for you to ever take it off." A faint, almost imperceptible smile appeared on Emory's lips, so subtle that even Denise didn't notice it. Warmth blossomed within her as Jaxon's words from that night returned to her memory. Even in just one meeting, Jaxon had understood her so completely.Emory cleared her throat, forcing the pleasant memory from her mind. She couldn't take any chances. If her smile widened, Denise would undoubtedly start asking questions. At the same time, Denise finished brushing

It was perfectly understandable to Emory why Jaxon had made such a request. His demeanour—whether it was the look in his eyes or the tension etched into his face—spoke volumes without the need for words. She understood, so clearly in fact, that she didn't argue with him at all.Emory let out a long sigh, trying to suppress the turmoil in her chest. Jaxon's jealousy was obvious, and it wasn't just about the necklace—it was about the whole situation that had ensnared them and left them helpless against the bonds of fate.Still, Emory couldn't blame Jaxon for his feelings. Truth be told, she was tossed about in the same storm of emotions—helplessness.Everything felt like an unbreakable snare, trapping Emory between two opposing worlds. The presence of two men, each with a different meaning in her life, made her question the purpose of fate's cruel games.Fatigue crept back in. The brief respite Emory had felt during her time with Jaxon had vanished, leaving her tired again after leaving

If she could be honest, Emory would probably say that Myles' arrival in her room was not the only thing that surprised her. On the contrary, even more surprising was the discovery that Myles had given her a gift. As far as she could remember, Myles had never given her anything in the three years they had been together.Ironically, those two things were nothing compared to the fact that Myles had given Emory a necklace exactly like the one that had been lost before, with no difference at all.Emory could only gape. She really didn't know what to say. In the end, she accepted the necklace without hesitation. The only reason she did so was to end her conversation with Myles as quickly as possible. But that didn't mean that Emory thought her decision was the right one. She thought it might be better to ask Myles for another gift—if he insisted on giving her one—as long as it wasn't a necklace.Emory felt really uncomfortable. She had lost count of how many times she had touched her neck i

It sounded impossible, so much so that Fernanda wanted to deny it, refused to believe it. But it was the most reasonable explanation for all the oddities—magic, just as Denise had said.Unfortunately, it wasn't so easy for Fernanda to agree with Denise. There were a few things that were unsettling, one of them being the undeniable fact that the initial relationship between werewolves and witches was anything but good. As far as she knew, the two races had been locked in eternal enmity. The history was uncertain; different stories had circulated over the years, but none of them could be trusted as the definitive cause of the feud. Each story often had variations, depending on the perspective from which it was told.Werewolves believed that witches had been the ones to start the conflict in the first place. To the witches, werewolves were wild, uncontrollable creatures—too powerful to be allowed to roam free. In short, they were seen as a threat.Tensions escalated when the werewolves d

Trina couldn't say anything more. She realised that there was nothing in this world that could go against Isidore once he had made up his mind. So, the only thing she could do was to calm herself, to keep reminding herself that war would inevitably break out, whether it came quickly or slowly. After all, she had been one of the most enthusiastic supporters of Isidore's plan. So, there was no point in being afraid now. Especially since her safety was guaranteed for the duration of the war.The ringing of a phone broke the brief silence between Trina and Isidore. It was a call from Myles.Trina immediately answered the call and activated the speakerphone. She then put the phone down on the table."Hello, Mum."Trina replied, "Hello, Myles." She then asked Myles, looking at Isidore. "So how is it? Did you give Emory the necklace?""I have, Mum. Don't worry," Myles replied happily. "I gave the necklace to Emory. Oh! "Has Myles contacted you yet?"It was rare that Isidore started a conversation. Most of the time he preferred to remain a listener. He would remain silent, watching every conversation that took place, absorbing all the information around him. Only when it was deemed necessary would he speak, and even then, it wasn't often. It could be said that conversations often ended without him saying a word.Silence and just listening, Isidore couldn't remember when these two habits had become his. He hadn't been like this before. There was a time when talking was one of his pleasures. He used to joke around, often saying things that he thought were light, funny or simply honest. But gradually he began to notice changes in the expressions of those around him. Their smiles faded, and the laughter he expected was replaced by an embarrassed silence. At the time, Isidore didn't understand what was happening. He thought everything was fine. There was nothing wrong with what he did or said. After all,
