I knew I had no choice but to go back to the forest. I know it wasn't a dream. I remember it vividly. I walked through the forest last night and someone- something carried me all the way here.
Suddenly it hit me. The crayon. The broken crayon. I was carrying it all the way to the forest last night. I searched for it in the depth of the forest. Somehow, it felt eerie as I step even further.
It brought back some of my childhood memories where father and I used to hunt deers and rabbits back then and selling it back at the town to earn some money.
But soon, I felt a sharp sting straight to my heart remembering that this forest is what got father killed in the first place. I tried to ignore these thoughts as I continued to search for the broken crayon but hours passed and I still haven't got any clue where I could've dropped it.
Was it just a dream then?
It can't be.
I knew for sure it was Arthur. But... I don't even remember what he looks like. I must be going crazy jumping to conclusions all of a sudden. Suddenly, I heard gunshots from the far side of the forest. I don't know why but I felt obliged to immediately go after it.
As I arrive, I saw two older man in their middle ages shooting rifles at a distant, they were celebrating saying, "Did you see that? I shot something!"
"I didn't saw. You're just drunk old geezer." The other one was arguing. They were both reeking of the smell of the alcohol.
After a while, they noticed me, they remarks, "Hey kid, what're you doing out here?"
"I'm just... looking for something."
"Well, you should leave now. It's dangerous to lurk around the forest especially when it's dark." They said, "Haven't you heard the news?"
"News? No, I haven't been watching lately."
"Old geezer, I definitely shot one!" The other old man remarks as he walks toward the trees looking for his prey. He took a sniff at the oozing red blood splutter at the tree and even tasted it. He said, "It's definitely a hit."
"That's good. Okay, let's follow the trail." They said carrying their guns and drinks and just before they leave completely, they reminded, "Hey kid, go home. We know the forest well enough. You might get lost following us."
So I did. I went back home empty handed as I prepared all my things for tomorrow. I'll be going back to school starting tomorrow. Considering I missed 5 months of classes, I'll probably retake this year.
I spent the rest of the day reading a couple of novels I found on my bed side to try and take my mind off of things. Just as I close my eyes, I waited for the fluttering sound but there was none that night.
The next day arrived quite earlier than my body had anticipated. I grabbed my bag after taking a shower and changing into my uniform. As I was putting on clothes, I saw some burn marks and deep scars at my back.
I was confused so I trace my hands onto my scars and just as I did, I suddenly remember how those scars felt. It was so hot and painful that I ended up losing balance surprisingly myself with that memory.
Fire. Fire and chaos. It was blurry but it was definitely a huge fire that burned me. My head aches and it only added to my confusion.
I... don't understand.
Eventually I just ended up going to school. A lot of random people who seems strangers to me were surprised to finally see me attending school. It felt very uncomfortable so I wore a black baseball cap trying to hide my face.
But just as I sat down at my seat inside the classroom, I got a glimpse of that purple hair at the corner of my eyes from outside.
There I saw her. I know her. I do... right?
Those aqua blue eyes looking straight into my hazel eyes. She walks past my classroom and shifts her gaze.
I waited eagerly until the classes were over and I immediately went room to room to search for her. My classmates were all asking about how was I and everything but I was rushing to get to her so I dismissed them all.
From a distance, I saw her so I instinctively followed her and just as I was about to call her out. Someone else called her, "Isabelle. What are you doing here? Playing human again, aren't you? Haven't you heard the new? It's dangerous for our kind to be out here mingling with mortals."
...Isabelle... Why does her name sounds so familiar. But what are they talking about? Humans? Their... kind? I'm lost...
The girl with the violet hair, Isabelle protested, "I know. Leave me alone, Alice. Go back home."
"Are you still punishing Arthur? You should stop now. You know you're powerless against him. Going after his girl will only get you killed."
"Shut up-" Isabelle was cut off as she saw me peeking through the corridors so she left. But just before she does, I grabbed her shoulder and she grimaced from the pain. I noticed that there's blood on her shoulder. I remarked, "You're bleeding."
Isabelle simply glared at me and walks past me.
I asked my classmates about Isabelle or Arthur but none of them seemed to know who they were. It's weird... don't they go here? I saw Isabelle wearing the same uniform.
I saw JD walking through the canteen so I asked him, "JD... Isabelle, who is she?"
"Why? Did she approach you or anything like that?" JD seemed anxious making it even more suspicious
I said, "So you know her."
"I do. So what?"
"None of the other kids do."
JD sighs and continued, "Look, Ly. Stop looking for Arthur and stop concerning yourself with things the other kids don't see."
"The other kids don't see? What do you mean?"
He simply left with the rest of our teammates patting my head gently like always. Like a pack all watching over me. What the hell is going on? I have no idea. I followed Isabelle subtly as she makes her way to the forest.
She went towards what seems to be another school? Or an old building inside the forest. I don't think I ever saw this school here but somehow it felt oddly familiar.
Isabelle stops and said, "You seem lost. A human shouldn't be able to see me or this. So what are you?"
I tried to step back and escape as I suddenly felt shiver down my spine at the way her voice suddenly changed into a deep and scary tone. But just as I turn around, Isabelle was already there in front of me with her aqua eyes that seems to be shining brightly. She said, "Oh, if it isn't Lyanna. What are you doing here, huh?"
"I don't know... you know me? The other kids doesn't seem to know you- what's this place? Who are you?"
"Oh, poor little Lyanna, don't you mean what am I? Did Arthur grew tired of you and abandoned you all clueless? You have your memories all shuffled? Then should I kill you and make it better?"
I don't know why but that threat seemed so real. As a hunter, you can easily identify if a wild boar is trying to kill you. It's in their eyes and right now, I can see Isabelle's eyes glistening with intent to kill me.
She's looking at me with such murderous intent that it made me tremble from fear but I couldn't say anything.
I closed my eyes as I anticipated Isabelle's attack and just then, I heard that fluttering sound once again as the wind brushes through my hair tossing my cap a far. As if something flew right above me and was gone in an instant.
I was so tired of it all. JD kept saying that I shouldn't remember and all these things that doesn't make any sense. I felt so frustrated that I couldn't understand anything that I ended up snapping at JD, "You keep saying that this is all for my own good and to trust you but I feel so damn frustrated relying on whatever you say! My memories- I rely on whatever you and the other people say. I don't... who the hell even am I?"
I eventually toss the books aside my desk and forced myself to sleep. Now, I just feel so lost and I have no idea what do I do? Where should I proceed? What is real and what is not?I feel my confusion swallowing me whole and I'm barely hanging to my sanity.
He looks back at me and pushes me aside, he said coldly, "So what if I am?""I... I don't understand. I remember our memories together-"
Lyanna StuartI woke up the next morning to the smell of coffee and pancakes so I slowly opened my eyes and saw Clarisse playing by my bedroom. I greeted her, "Good morning, kiddo. Why are you here? Is mom here?"
Lyanna StuartI opened my eyes and sees myself sitting by the park bench. I know I was at the park because I used to play here all the time. The red swing set and yellow slides. I feel so confused when I saw JD and Clarisse playing together.
Lyanna StuartI waited until the debris settles and the commotion finishes, the rest of the wolves fled leaving the dragon standing all mighty there. I found myself walking towards the dragon seeing its scales closer.
Arthur LangdonThe next day arrived as the sun's ray hit my face just perfectly waking me up. I couldn't get Lyanna out of my head no matter what. I just couldn't so I grabbed some black cap and all black outfit as I went to her school.I know JD wouldn't be there with her b
Lyanna Stuart Violet eyes and silver hair. Broad smile and sharp jaw, I turned around and saw him. I saw Arthur and just like a magic trick, I began to remember everything. I remembered Arthut. I remembered how we met, how we were happy together, how I killed him and how I met hims again. I... remembered how much I love him. I was tearing up but I was smiling from ear to ear. One step at a time, I moved my trembling feet and soon, I sprinted up to hug him tightly. I was crying so much but Arthur hugged me, he lifted me up the ground and he said, "Hey there little lady, I missed you." "Art, I missed you too!" I said then I let go even though I was still crying, I asked, "What- Why are you here? You can't be here. This is the human realm... right? How are you here?" Arthur glanced at the horizon as if someon was there, then he averted his g
Tate GlassglowIt's been weeks since I last saw her. After Lyanna used her blue flame to close realms, I stayed back here on hell as its ruler. Once the last dragon slayer- the last wielder of the blue flame returns to the human realm, the war continued subsided. There will always be another reason to start wars but the fairies are leaderless, the dragons are almost extinct, the witches lost the one thing to fight for- the blue flame and the wolves had gotten their revenge on the fairies.Everything is peaceful for now.The demons are back to hell. We have no intention of joining the mess up in their realm. I'll let them deal with it, after all, souls are what we need not hierarchy. Souls are what nourish us.I miss her.I miss Lyanna so bad.A fellow demon asked me, "My lord, aren't you getting rid of that remaining huma
Lyanna StuartA bright light. The smell and feeling of something burning. I slowly opened my eyes seeing a blurry image of a white ceiling light. I could hear muffled voices but it all sounded gibberish to me.I opened my eyes completely now seeing the white tiles surrounding me, the fresh plant by the table and my hands covered with apparatus. I was confused. I groaned, "Mom?"Mom almost choked, she quickly puts out her cigarettes and opened the window to air it all out, she muttered, "Ah sh*t, I'm sorry honey, are you okay?""What happened?" I asked, "Where am I? Where's Clarisse? Where are the rest?""The rest?" She looked at me raising an eyebrow in confusion, "You must be confused, the neighbors found you and Clarisse outside the forest all wounded and bruised. They said a wild animal attacked you. People said there are wild beasts lurkin
Lyanna Stuart I manifested my blue flame into lightning- as a balance type, I am able to amplify my flames into lightning but at the price of my stamina. It increased my speed tenfold- enough to avoid each attack Clarisse threw at me. Lightning bolts are now coming out of my entire body to keep me safe and increase my agility. Crap, at thise rate, I would only last another hour at best! Clarisse continued to use his manifestation of destruction- slicing and turning everything into dust. Our movements were at par with each other, I could keep up with Clarisse’s attacks as could she withstand mine. I shoot full power lightning directly towards her direction but it doesn't faze her at all. Again, it has to be stronger! I concentrated all power to my palms giving up all intentions of protecting my body. Clarisse saw this opportunity and laug
Lyanna Stuart I was helpless. I couldn't move, tell me, how could I possibly do anything- it's my sister I'm up against and right now, she's being controlled by the blue flame. She wouldn't stop until I die or she does. How do I... do this? I hated it. I hated feeling this way. What was the point? Why should it be me? I'm contemplating on everything and I know I shouldn't because the longer I stall, the longer Clarisse bring destruction everywhere. But how could I possibly decide? If someone else were to decide, what would they have chosen? I felt so lost. The demons were helplessly retreating back to hell and the fairies were dominating. Maybe all this was futile effort after all. Maybe i
Tate Glassglow Just when I felt like giving up, I saw Lyanna and Arthur rushed towards my side but Arthur wasn't able to enter the fairy queen's barrier beause he's a dragon. However, Lyanna easily entered the barrier, she was crying her eyes out as she saw me, she hugged me, "Tate, don't leave me, okay? You're okay. We're going to be okay." "Ah... this must be what heaven feels like." I muttered with my eyes closed. It feels very tempting to just rest there without any care in the world. I wanted to escape it as badly as Lyanna did. I saw a glimpse of Lyanna's wrist. She wasn't the one binded to the fairy queen. Thank goodness. I said, "I'm glad." "Tate! Wake up." Lyanna was crying, "Tate, come on, get up, you're okay... right? My soul is in contract, you would never leave. That was our contract in exchange of my soul, right?"
--------------- Meanwhile, as Skye reunites with Lyanna and Arthur from the other side of the lair, Tate Glassglow was lying weakly to the ground with his black blood all over the floor. He fought against the fairy queen who effortlessly beaten him to pulp. Tate knew he was in trouble. ---------------- Tate Glassglow Ah crap, I can barely feel my legs. That attack that literally exploded the whole room left me powerless. The fairy queen blasted me with her binding magic. She released a strong and effective rune that binded my limbs from releasing critical attacks along with her anti-demon whip. The fairy queen whipped me brutally, it starts to burn me quite literally. And on top of that, I can't kill her. I recognize that runes on her wrists, she's binded herself to someone else. Crap, these damn fairies really took it up to notch that they are
----------------A few moments before breaking into the fairies' lair----------------Arthur LangdonAs impatient as we all are, Tate took it up a notch as he actually activated an old pentagram drawn at the land where the fairies constructed their lair. This is indeed a demon's turf. I asked, "How come none of the other creatures knew about this? The fairies certainly aren't that stupid to choose a demon's turf as their lair."Tate cockily replied, "They didn't know. It's one of my father's best work. Satan secretly lured them into using this land as their lair. He intentionally used this land for when the time comes that the fairies tried to double cross us.""I must say, your race has always been kind of a jerk but this is cool." JD remarked"Oh, do praise us more." Tate joked around but it's obvious how he's barely ho
Lyanna Stuart I couldn't believe my eyes but it's really Raya standing in front of me. All I could mutter was her name and in disbelief, I repeated my question, "Are you really... Raya?" Raya looked at me with a smile and nodded, "Indeed I am." "What are you doing here?" I looked around but the surrounding is still ghostly white, I asked, "Am I dead? Is that why I can see you?" "Walk with me, Lyanna." Raya reached out for my hand and I hesitantly grabbed hers, we walked around the white walls and pavements, there was really nothing to see but for some reason, Raya kept walking anyway. She broke the silence finally and said, "How was your human life? I... must say I envy you. You had a shot at the human life I desperately wanted." I looked above and remembered about Tate and all my frien
