1703 - (Marlowe Age 176)
After years of searching I found the place mentioned in the letter I recieved 3 years ago. Though the letter was meant for someone else, there was a note saying that if someone else were to receive the letter to go to the place mentioned. The persons name was Beau and that was all I knew. Now I knew Beau to be a male name but I was not expecting to see a woman at the small cottage. She was just in the garden, working. She looked my way as I approached on my horse.
"Get off the horse, the Sprites will take care of her." She said, as she went back to pulling stuff out of the ground.
I listened and sure enough Sprites led my horse away.
"I received a letter meant for an Edward Bishop," I told her. "Are you Beau Oaklee?"
She got to her feet and nodded.
"My real name is Hecate Oadham, but I have disassociated myself from my family so I came up with a new name. I find that Beau fits me well."
And it did. I then helped her with her gardening since my mother had taught me before they both had died from a fire. She was planting seeds I didn't even recognize.
"What are these?" I asked with a frown.
"Chamomile seeds. I need them to make the pain go numb."
I just nodded even though I didn't really understand. She held out her hand to me and I frowned.
"I am a Skinwalker, but I am also a conduit to the fates. I would like to see your paths." She said, tilting her head. "Now you don't have to, most people don't tru-
I placed my hand in hers and her eyes turned black like a Demons. She then pulled away.
"Your path is unclear, it's a mess of black and white and in-color. But you are destined for great things. You are to be a Beta of whatever Stripe you end up getting accepted into." She replied. "Nothing on your mate though." Now I could sense that was a lie, but I wouldn't push it. I doubt she knew I liked men and if she did, and was keeping who my mate was it most likely meant that my mate was female. I would accept it, even if it meant not being true to myself. "But until it is time for you to go on your path, you may travel with me."
That was good. I was hiding from a nasty group of Skinwalkers that I had stolen from. She walked me to a large body of water and clothes appeared in her hands along with some glass bottles.
"I trust you know your way back to my home?" She asked, handing me the clothes and glass bottles.
"I do, what are these?"
"Scent blockers and stuff to make you smell nice. Use them, I have to go deal with our unwanted guests." She replied, before she turned into a dog and ran off.
How did she know about that? She did not mention that she knew I was hiding. I did use the bottles. The scent blocker one smelled like my mothers apple pie. I got changed and I looked like a pirate. Where the hell were we going?
I walked back to the cottage to find dead bodies all over and she was eating their hearts while she was still in dog form. She shifted back not caring that she was naked, because then clothes shimmered onto her, but I saw the scars.
"We're joining Blackbeards crew, he owes me for not letting him get caught." She said, before the Sprites brought back my horse and another.
What the hell did I get myself into?
1703 (Beau Age 91) After the whole fiasco from the ball Edward and I had travelled across the world, helping others like me, who needed an escape. We both had killed many people and I got to eat many hearts. We did that until we met Bridget Bishop. She was perfect for Edward, they were mates and then Bridget had to fake her death, when they accused her of witchcraft. I guess it was true. Though Banshees were harbingers of death, they also were skilled Witches, but she was a good one. Edward was still in Salem, pretending to be human, but he had aquired a white cat, who was really Bridget but the town loved her in this form, because she wasn't a black cat and that they didn't know she was Bridget. Marlowe and I were in Blackbeards cabin, talking with him about possible places to go, when I got a vision. "North Carolina 13 years from now, Teach and Marlowe" I said, looking at them. "Until then we just sail wherever, doing whatever. Remember onl
1723When I had gotten the letter from a M. Higgins that Thomas had taken Beau again, I knew I had to track down where Bridget and Edward Bishop were located. Edward was the only one I knew of that could handle her when she went into a bloodlust state after not being fed for too long.I had found myself in Spain, after years of tracking and getting help from other demons who owed me favors. It also got me thinking on why Thomas was so insistent on keeping Beau with him. There had to be something more than just her being able to turn into a dog and being a conduit for the Fates. Something that she wouldn't tell anyone.I read through letters from her and everyone I knew associated with her; I couldn't find anything. What was she hiding? When I arrived at the Inn, I saw Edward and Bridget, arguing with another man. They stopped when I walked over."Anne Benavente," Bridget greeted, bowing her head. "What brings you all the way out here to S
1734Thomas had been careful not to leave any marks on my face, marks that couldn't be explained. He wanted me to look perfect, so no one would suspect that he was the one taking their children, wives, husbands, friends. We were in Spain, I knew my friends were here but I couldn't let them know that. Not when they were sending in a man who did everything to help his people. So I convinced him to lie to them and I made sure no dream walker could access his or my dreams.Arung had somehow earned Thomas's trust, so now he was my guard to make sure I stayed out of trouble and did as I was told. He got messages to Teach's crew for me. They were the only ones I trusted with my actual location. Yes I trusted the others but if they came for me right now, they would be killed.Arung and I had been sent to scout for more victims, but having not eaten for years was making me weak and lethargic. I must have not been paying attention because Arung was shakin
1734 I looked down at the knife protruding from my chest. He stabbed me, he actually stabbed me. He never went this far. "Why?" I whispered, as I cried. "Why would you do this?" He didn't answer just twisted the knife, before ripping it out. "You ever sneak food again, and I will kill you!" He snarled, before he looked at the disguised clones with interest. "You did good for once." He said, a look of approval on his face. As he led the clones away, they all gave me reassured pats on my arm, before I lost sight of them, and then I fell to the ground from the blood loss. If no one got to me in time I really would die. I was bleeding out too much. I lost consciousness and when I woke up it was to one of Thomas's workers using magic. He stopped when he saw I was awake. "D-d- "I won't tell him," I interrupted, as he helped me sit up in the bed. "What's your name?" "Percival Pott, Ms. Oadham." He said, noddin
1734 She just laid there looking dead, and then I looked at the Changeling. He looked scared and I knew it was because of me. Astrosphinxes were mostly known for eating Changelings but I wasn't like that. He would learn that soon. After all I only ever really truly ate my clones and the occasional meals. "Go get Thomas Mills, I still have some spells I need to perfect." I told him, before I focused back on Beau. I then stopped her heart and made her smell slightly of death, before I cooled her blood down. I then moved to stand next to the door, before I spelled flies to fly around her body. Shortly after Thomas came storming in with the Changeling who looked terrified. "Fuck!" Thomas growled, before he looked at the two of us. "Wait twelve hours, I want to make sure she isn't faking this." We nodded and he stormed out of the room. "What are we going to do?" Percival asked me. "She can do this for 24hrs, she's stronger
1794There were two things on my mind when I received a new letter from Arung. One he said he had loyalty to the gods and goddesses, and could only give me only certain information about the black marketer we've been trying to catch. That pissed me off. The second was that he was still not telling me what he was. There was only a handful of creatures that were immortal, and no one could figure out what he was.I unsealed the letter and read it carefully.Alpha King Killian,Unfortunately this is the last letter I will be able to write you, I and a select few others must go into hiding. We set fire to one of Thomas Mills hideouts, there were a lot of deaths. I will write once again when it is safe. I was told to tell you good luck with Elila, by Voivode Vlad. You need to choose a Beta soon, it's too dangerous to not have a Beta during these times.Arung Singkang, Head of the Singkang Clan of Astrosphinxes
It's been decades since we heard from Arung, the man Anne had asked to help us. The man was a mystery even though I hadn't even met him. Anne had warned us that Arung was someone we did not want to get close to or piss off. That he was a dangerous demon that could survive off of eating his own clones. That his magic was just as dangerous as Beau's.I was broken from my thoughts when a raven landed on my desk. It had two letters. One from the Alpha King, the other was with a seal I didn't recognize, but it had been written in Beau's blood. I opened that later, letting out a sigh of relief when I recognized the handwriting.Marlowe,I am sorry that I haven't been completely truthful with you, but it's for the best. One of these days I will tell you, but right now you need to start packing. The Stripe you are to be accepted in is one of the ones that is looking for a Beta during the trials. I wish you the best of luck. Tell the others that Arung and I
Two weeks have gone by and I've already had a majority of my fingers regenerate multiple times from being bitten off by animals or to stop infection. A few of the tigers I had grouped with already called it quites, they couldn't take it anymore.I hated the Amazon. There were still tribes of humans out here, so we had to be careful, even though certain groups of humans knew about us. I looked at Eidrich and John, who were whispering with each other, smiles on their faces. Mates. They were going to be killed when others found out.I got to my feet; Picking my pack up, I cleared my throat and everyone looked at me."Time to go?" Eidrich asked, as he and the others grabbed their packs."We took a longer break than usual. If we want to get to the ruins, we need to keep going." I told them.I put the fire out and we began to walk. An hour hadn't gone by when a raven appeared with a letter.Stay where you, everyone is getting escorted out. An Alpha has gone mi
The Feral Werejaguars kept coming, and men and women on both sides were dying. There was a demonic growl as a large creature with a skull over its head and covered in black fur with a tail made of bone appeared. I had never seen anything like it before. The Ferals stopped when they saw it, all shifting into their human forms. "The Great Beast." They whispered amongst themselves. "Take your fallen and leave, the Queen of Demons is not happy." It growled out. The creature watched as the Werejaguars left, taking their dead with them. Then it walked over to the Alpha that was still tied up and not moving. It's tail wrapped around the man, picking him up before a bright light surrounded us, and I was back on my territory, in my office. A scroll with my name on my desk. Alpha King, Alpha William is back in his territory. I have also returned everyone to their rightful homes. Included is a list of everyone I believe would be suitable as
Sorry for not updating but some family emergencies popped up so I won't be updating for another 2 weeks. I have the chapters ready but I am also going to use these 2 weeks to make sure everything is okay with them. Hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week. This will be the first time I actually share battle scenese I've written so I would like to know what you all think. What do you all think of Arung, Killian, Marlowe, Anne, and Beau so far? I'm thinking of adding another historical figure, I've got another few options but if you all have ideas let me know. Once again chapters will be updated twice a week, unless otherwise noted. See you all in 2 weeks.
So I know I haven't updated in like a week but I just added a new chapter and more chapters will be added starting in two days. Until then you can comment about what you think of the book so far or if there's anything you wish to see in the future. Most chapters have been written but I am still adding stuff to them everyday. So if you think of something just comment and I'll see where I can add it in to the story wether it's in current times or still in the past. Thanks to all those who have read and subscribed so far.
The sun was setting and the Demons with us were still coming back with groups of men and women, we could hear faint screams while the portals were still open, but then there was a familiar scream, one that was similar to mine. There was a Vampire Weretiger in the A****n, and he or she was pissed. The portals closed and it was silent. "Inform everyone that the trials are finished." I told one of the other Alpha's. "You all are to pick from whoever stays till the next day." He nodded and I left, leaving a few Warriors behind. May the gods and goddesses protect the Alpha and those still in the A****n. I ended up going to a nearby village before sending a letter out to my Stripe saying that I needed all available doctors and warriors. We were going into the A****n to bring back the group of men and women that were in there. Hopefully with all of them alive. It was dark by the time demons showed up with the warriors and doctors. I put us into groups before we all
Three weeks of sleeping out under the stars, and we were still following the Wisps. Others had joined us, when they found out we were going to look for the Alpha; Hoping that's where the Wisps were leading us. We were going on week four when the Wisps stopped right next to the river. You could see dolphins in the water. One swam our way, jumping out of the water as it turned into a young man."You must be looking for the Alpha, those feral Werejaguars took?" He asked, while looking at Nevara, who also happened to be a Werejaguar. "You are from a shadow here in the Amazon?"She shook her head no, with a smile."Argentina, but my ancestors are from here." She told him, as she looked at the other dolphins that were staring at us, keeping an eye on the young man. "You all are Encantados, right?"He nodded as he looked at the others."Have any of you been in the Amazon before?" He asked, focusing back on us."I have," I answered; He gave me a loo
