Chapter Fifty-One - The Luna

Tori’s POV

It felt as if my heart was being torn apart, piece by piece. Fran was innocent, yet I’d wondered, as had Calvin. I could see the speculation in his eyes. His expressions were becoming as familiar to me as my bestie’s and I knew there was something wrong.

My catch up with Ellie was brief and concerned mainly with the state of Naomi’s health. Then she took me to her locker and changed into street clothes before she drove us back to the packhouse.

“You are still coming tonight, aren’t you, even though you’ve found your mate of choice?” I teased her.

“If I must.”

I knew she was self-conscious about how she looked in a long dress and wanted to put her at her ease. She needed to shine sometime, which was what I told her.

The Beta delivered the Alpha’s summons in person. I kicked off, saying, “Why didn’t he just text me?”

“He’s forgotten your new number.”

The mobile he’d bought me was yet another reminder of him. I knew a mind link was out of the question until I officially joined
