Lucius' POV:

Nightshade Pack's location by now should be at the edge of the forest, although there is some distance, but they are supposed to arrive here by noon and they are not yet here.

My mind was still not at rest so I decided to go to Livia's quarters to quickly go through my instructions one last time before they passed by.

On reaching her room, I found her blankly out the window and I couldn't figure out what she was staring at.

“We'll be leaving soon for the battlefield. Make sure to remain indoors and under no circumstance should you cross the refinement of the villa.”

I sounded this warning to her, but it sounded more like a plea than a warning.

She didn't say anything but only nodded her head in response, she tried hard to avoid my gaze and lowered her head to avoid eye contact, and all I wanted to do was to assure her that I'll never let any harm come to her.

But just at this moment, I started hearing noises from outside the walls of the villa.

I quickly ran towa

Livia's POV: I couldn't believe my eyes, why would Lucius choose those women when he clearly knows that and his mate, couldn't he have just rejected them? I couldn't just stand by and watch these women take my mate from me, I needed to do something fast to stop him from laying with them. It seems there would be no need for a battle since the Nightshade pack already came to sign a peace treaty with the Crescent Pack, so going out to meet Lucius wouldn't be a bad idea… he said I couldn't leave the villa confinement, technically I wouldn't.. When he sees me, he may likely reject those women, I hope. I quickly rushed out of my room, through the stairs and in no time, I was already out on the pavement just at the entrance of the building. I stared deeply at Lucius, almost to the extent that I felt I could see his soul. He didn't seem to notice me at first and kept on chatting heartily with Alpha Roshan. Wait! Aren't I making a mistake? What if Alpha Roshan recognizes me from the

Lucius' POV: Having Livia drink with him? In that instant I was almost covered in rage, but in the next moment I pushed that rage back. I looked at Alpha Roshan's face pupils had some slight trembling, I know now he and I are not the time to tear each other's pretense. Thinking of this I glanced at Alexander, this time I saw him give me a reassuring look, my heart instantly understood, then I looked at Alpha Roshan's face and put on a smile. "Of course, Livia you drink well with Alpha Roshan, do not lose my face!" After saying that I walked straight towards the far guest room with those two beautiful women in my arms. The people at the party were partying and the sounds gathered like boiling water, but the sounds only bored me. I waited until I got to the bed in the guest room and sat down, my mind was filled with the figures of Livia and Alpha Roshan, whose movements made me feel overwhelmingly prickly. Although I had instructed Adrian before, and there were many Crescent Pa

Livia's POV: Lucius was held up by them? This sentence is like a lightning bolt in my heart sparks. My whole person suddenly became incomparably sober, alert to the extreme, the mind inside some thoughts are disappearing, now is not the time to be sad. Nightshade Pack people why drag out Lucius, what other purpose do they have? When I thought of this, a lot of doubts suddenly appeared in my mind, why would Nightshade Pack people suddenly appear unannounced to make a sudden friendship with the Crescent pack… thinking about it now, this was exactly the same way they got to destroy my pack. My heart suddenly felt a burst of fear, then directly finished the wine in front of me, so that I became just as drunk, looking to the servant not far away and my voice also became blurred. "Wine ...... pour me some more wine! I want to drink ......" With that servant coming towards me, I noticed out of the corner of my eye that Alpha Roshan glanced towards me, then continued to speak softly to

Lucius' POV: Where did Livia go? My eyes went towards the front little by little, but there was no Livia anywhere, Adrian and Alexander were having a drink with Alpha Roshan, and the seat where Livia was supposed to sit was empty. My heart suddenly became very heavy, like a boulder inside my heart, while a cold killing intent appeared in my eyes. If anything happens to Livia, I'll tear Alpha Roshan, the bastard, apart with my own hands even if I have to tear off my disguise! I hid my body once again in the shadows of the building and quickly explored my surroundings, my eyes barely missing every corner, and soon I was away from the feast. Where was Livia, where the hell had she been hidden? I felt as if I was burning with anxiety. I searched the parlor area, the kitchen, and the place where the Nightshade warriors are to stay, but found nothing. Just when I was about to lose my mind and start killing, I suddenly heard a familiar voice. "Where's Lucius...where's he gone!" It

Livia's POV: Those Nightshade Pack wolves didn't make a move. I was relieved to see that they didn't do anything, then I shook my body and shouted randomly with my mouth, pretending that I was in a drunken frenzy as I wandered around towards the surroundings. "How did Livia get so drunk, now what do we do?" "Let her be quiet and take her to rest, hurry up and catch up with her." At this time the voices of the two Crescent Pack warriors rang in my ears, followed by the sound of footsteps coming from behind as they tried to catch me left and right. They didn't know that I was pretending to be drunk, but I couldn't waste such an opportunity to be taken by them. I ripped their arms away hard and continued to wander towards the surroundings, then felt the traces around me with all my might, looking for where Lucius was. "She won't let us grab it, why don't we use some force?" "You're crazy, Livia is Alpha Lucius' lord's maid, we have to do our best to keep her safe, what if we hur

Lucius' POV: "Lucius, something's wrong! Alpha Roshan has got his wolves ready to attack our Crescent Pack!" When Livia's voice reached my ears, I could hardly believe what I was hearing, and all the doubts I had about her disappeared. He must have expected that I would gather all my elites here so that he could take this opportunity to attack my Crescent Pack! If I hadn't learned such information, I'm afraid the Crescent Pack would have been attacked by them without even knowing it, and when their attack was complete, they would have revealed their claws to us next! Alpha Roshan's smiling face appeared in my mind, and the anger inside my heart became more intense. This guy didn't just approach my Livia to get her to drink with him, he actually made such an intention, I really want to tear him apart right now. I glanced towards Livia, this time she was a huge credit. I looked at her face with some redness. It seems that some of the wine did not make her completely drunk, but a

Lucius' POV: "All warriors do not be afraid, although he is Alpha Lucius, but he is only one person, the woman next to him is not much of a threat, we are far outnumbered than them!" This fierce voice also carried some sinister inside, a giant reddish brown wolf who was a little stronger than the other warriors came out, his brown was not pure with some scars, I could tell in an instant that he was the Gamma of Nightshade Pack. I continued to look around and found that there were some other warriors of Nightshade Pack coming from other directions, all the roads were almost blocked by them, it seemed to become very difficult to kill out from here. My face became even colder, the power brought by the wolf jewel made my killing intent even more passionate, I want to tear all these guys who are in the way! "All of them!" At this time, with a command from Gamma of Nightshade Pack, those Nightshade Pack warriors around us rolled towards us like a wave, and I roared in anger, and my sh

Livia's POV: Before I could continue my attack, the wolves behind me had rushed up, and unlike the one that pounced directly, they stood in three separate positions, and I felt there were three simultaneous attacks coming towards my body! The sound of air being cut in my ears, three sharp claws blocked almost all the directions I could dodge, I adjusted my posture with all my might, but still one of the sharp claws landed on my body. A wound instantly appeared on my left shoulder, and the intense pain made me more conscious. My hind legs instantly shot up, and the next moment I was in the middle of two warriors, biting directly into the throat of one of them. A hard feeling came inside my mouth, I bit through this warrior's throat with all my might, but I felt the one behind me already lunging towards my body! Damn, these warriors are too strong, with my current training results I can't resist their siege! I felt some bitterness in my heart, the wind behind me was like the wind

Livia's POV: Pregnancy was not easy. That I realized as my stomach grew and I became more and more worried. I worried about all the things that could go wrong during childbirth. I did not want to die, I wanted to be there for my child. Besides the worry and fear, there were my moodswings. I had to say that Lucius was very patient with me and I felt bad for him sometimes. I even felt bad for Ylva and Lydia who had to endure my outbursts. Adrian followed me everywhere as Lucius made him my personal guard and once in a while I would yell at him as well. Sometimes because I just wanted to and sometimes for no reason at all. Well, that's what happens when you don't get enough sleep because your stomach is in the way, when you constantly feel hungry and when everything feels uncomfortable. “Lydia, Ylva I do want you to work for me anymore. Bring someone that I won't feel bad yelling at. Like that maid Jessica or anyone I don't like.” I said feeling really bad for my moodswings. “No My

Lucius' POV: “Good morning.” She smiled while tucked under the sheets. “Good morning,” I said, turning so that I lay facing her. “Aren't you late? It's almost lunchtime.” She said. I groaned, not wanting to think of anything else but laying in bed with my mate. “I don't want to leave.” I admitted, reaching for her under the sheets. She was still naked. Good Lord. I wanted to touch her all over again as I remembered her bare body. I always thought she looked beautiful but now she was exquisite. She was fuller, more radiant and alive. She was ravishing. “Not again, Lucius.” She beamed at me. I was touching her under the sheets, enjoying the feel of her. “Why not?” “Because I need to be able to walk.” “Oh, but I would rather have you in bed all day.” I joked. Although it was partly true. “You never get enough, do you?” she shook her head at me. If only she knew. I thought. Livia sat up on the bed and then swung her legs down. “Oh God! She groaned, startled. “What?” “Nothin

Livia's POV: Lucius stiffened and the room went quiet. I could hear my own heart race and it felt like forever before he said, “what did you say?” “I said you will become a father soon,” I told him a bit louder and with more confidence. Slowly, Lucius took a few steps back and then turned away. Oh, God! He was not happy. Hopping down from the table I went to him. I put my hand lightly on his shoulder. “I understand if you are not happy.” Never having a relationship with his parents and what he went through growing up, could explain his reaction. “Happy?” He turned to me carefully and grabbed my arms. “I am not happy Livia. I am lucky. You make me the luckiest man on earth even if I don't deserve it.” I could see a mix of emotions in his eyes. Happiness, sadness and worry. “You deserve every bit of it,” I assured. “And you would be an amazing father.” His hands slid up to my face, holding it gently. “Livia, you are a blessing in my cursed existence.” I didn't know whether to

Livia's POV: When I woke up I'm the morning Lucius was already gone. I scolded myself for not telling him I was pregnant. I knew I was worrying for nothing and that the news would probably make him very happy. After getting dressed I decided to look for him immediately. I went straight to Lucius' office, there I saw him engrossed in the papers in his hands. I cleared my throat to capture his attention. Lucius put the papers down on the table and stood up before looking at me. “Did you already miss me, wife?” He smiled. “Am I disturbing you?” I asked walking over to him. “No, bit you are distracting me much.” He said letting his gaze rake my body. I did nothing to prepare myself so that he found me distracting despite everything, made me confident. Lucius tilted his head to one side and studied me even more closely. “Did you gain some weight?” He asked and my confidence went out the window. “I am not sure,” I mumbled. “You look…” his eyes darkened. I knew that gaze and it brou

Livia's POV: I am pregnant, I am pregnant, I am pregnant. I kept chanting those words to myself everyday. I could still not believe it. How do I tell Lucius? It haven't even been up to two weeks since the incidence that claimed his life, would he be happy to have a child in this mess? He had never said anything about wanting to have a child ever which made me a bit concerned. Somehow I felt that he wouldn't be thrilled. I tried to imagine his reaction in my head several times but I couldn't figure out what his expression would be like. “Ylva… I am pregnant,” I told her as she prepared me for the night. Ylva stared at me through the mirror. Her eyes twinkled with both surprise and happiness. “My Lady…!” She exclaimed after she opened her mouth several times but was not able to say anything. “Can… I hug you… once?” I blinked a few times in surprise. I and Ylva had been very close, closer than with Lydia it she had never asked for a hug before. The only time she hugged me was when

Livia’s POV: I felt as though a storm had struck me. My whole emotions was in a mess. The heartbeat that I heard against my ears were crisp and loud. The urge to press my ears deeper to his chest grew in me, wanting to make sure I wasn't wrong and my ears hadn't lied to me. I didn't want this to be a dream or the sweet illusion that had been repeating in my subconsciousness. When his voice slipped to my ears in the most sweetest way, once again a wave of emotions washed my entire heart. My tears filled the rim of my eyes and tears slowly dribbled uncontrollably from my eyes. I slowly lifted my chin up, looking around to feel his hand around me before my emerald eyes finally met with Lucius' deep red ones. “I'm sorry, did I make you wait for long?” He asked as though he hadn't died, as though I hadn't killed him and as though it has only been an hour of our separation, when it had been more than 12 hours. 12 hours might be a mere few hours to others, but not to me who bore the guil

Livia's POV: My emerald eyes turned wider, glint of red appeared on my eyes that the serpent didn't miss. Reaching out my hand, I tried to manifest Elise when the serpent began to shake its body, causing large ripples and waves to tower over me. I looked at the upcoming waves as it was about to devour me hungrily. The waves spread wide like a mountain, wanting to eat me alive. My eyes flared brighter with hint of redness as I raised my hand out of impulse and was surprisingly able to create a barrier wide enough to cover the boat from being consumed by the waves. While I was surprised that I still haven't discovered all what I could do with my abilities, I wanted to breathe out in relief, I realized it wasn't the end as the serpent had quickly arrived behind me, rushing towards me. I clicked my tongue, pushing myself on the other end of the boat and ducked down as the serpent was about to take a taste bite on me. During the fight, the creature didn't help me. Instead he continued t

Livia's POV: A single boat coasted towards the shore, at the side where I stood. On the end of the boat was a creature who was cloaked in black. Its body was shorter than mine as his back was hunched forward. From underneath his cloak, his black bones hands held the wooden paddle on his hand. Though his eyes was covered, I could feel it moving towards me as if he knew I needed to cross this deadly river. “You… are coming to the boat?” The hoarse voice of the creature was shrilling and there was a delay in his first words as if his tongue was having a difficulty on speaking quickly. I nodded my head before putting my feet on the surface of the boat. As I went onboard, the creature looked at me. No words exchanged, but I could see his displeasure, “Soul… give me.” “I won't be fully crossing the sea to the abyss,” I answered, “And only crossing the sea to the abyss would I need to pay, don't I?” The creature huffed to show his annoyance but he didn't reply as I was correct. I felt empty as a part of me now became lost, Elise, my wolf had been quiet and hadn't let out a sound since the minute Lucius gave out his last breath. I had prevented Adrain from coming along in order for me to gain full concentration. I went deep into the forest till I hit to the spot where the old oak tree was planted. I couldn't remember the last time since I came to this part of the forest. The oak tree which stood in front of me now which I had named ‘grandma’ was my solace and healing place when I had no one, but Lucius came along and he became more than just a safe haven for me, he became my paradise and I planned spending every moment of my life in his embr
