I really wanted to get away from the pack. I realised that I was wrong before. I should have left the pack when my father told me to. I was deep in thoughts regretting.
Suddenly I heard a knock at the door. It was locked from outside so I was wondering who it was.
The door opened afterwards and Zaden came to my room. Finally after a long time I met Zaden who was like a family.
"Oh Ella! I heard everything. I am sorry, even though I promised your father that I would take care of you, I couldn't even meet you when you needed a family. But you are not alone anymore. Whenever you want to leave this pack, I will help you. I said this before, you remember? " he asked.
"Yes, I remember," I replied.
"Do you want to leave now?" he asked again. "I can get you out of this pack tonight."
"Yes, please!! Help me," I pleaded.
"Okay, stay alert. Tonight I'm getting you out of this pack," he said and quickly left.
My wolf couldn't feel any love neither from Zen nor from Alex. Lexa was rather annoyed. She wanted to get out of their sights. Far from their loveless desires.
I was sitting on my bed looking at the woods from my window. I had already lost my family and closed ones. The sapphires were everywhere out there.
Uncle Zaden had just returned from our alliance pack. He surely knew the ways to safely get out of the woods.
But still my heart rate was increasing due to anxiety. "What if we get caught? He may end up being a rogue for trying to save me,'' I thought."Or what if we get caught by the sapphires in the woods? They will either kill us or torture us to the level where death would be the escape," I shivered thinking.
I couldn't continue thinking the worst case scenarios. "I killed so many of them. If they find out about my dad and what I did in the woods," I couldn't even think properly about the consequences that I would have to face. "Will I be safe in the town? Living with the humans?"
I was dipped in my thoughts while suddenly my door opened. And this time there was no knock. It was locked from outside and two wolves were guarding me. Uncle Zaden used his rank power to enter. I thought it was him again. I looked at the door curiously when Zen entered.
"What are you doing here?! You are not supposed to get the permission to come here," I quickly got up from my bed and asked angrily.
Due to Alex's mark, I wasn't feeling the bond between us properly. But still I was getting his fragrance. It was taking time to erase our bonds properly since we were actual mates. Also my wolf didn't accept Alex as its mate. She didn't feel the love that she was craving from him.
"Do you think some mere guards can stop me from coming here? " he replied mockingly.
He came closer and almost whispered, "That bast-d! How dare he to touch something that is not his!"
He leaned forward and caressed my face while brushing the hairs from my forehead. "I bet you felt disgusted," he said again.
"To be honest," I shoved his hand away from my face. "I'm disgusted at this moment. Can you please leave?"
He gritted his teeth in anger. I completely ignored him. He grabbed my shoulders and squeezed them. I wasn't afraid of his glare.
"And also because of this mark, Alex can tell that someone else is trying to make a move on his marked one. Do you want the Alpha to know about this? He will probably kick you out of the next alpha's throne," I threatened him wishing that he would leave. I wanted to be alone.
He controlled his desires and backed. After that fight in the woods, an excellent wolf who was the master of self control seemed so lost. As if he was totally out of his character.
"My bad. I didn't realise what I was doing," he said calmly. It seemed like he was ashamed of what he just said. He quickly left the room without any words.
I sat on my bed again. The possession of the wolves was the real challenge. It was why my wolf was protesting. Lexa wanted a bond filled with love and care.
''He still looks down at me. It is just he can't accept the idea of seeing his mate becoming someone else's,'' I thought.
And about Alex? I didn't even know what he was thinking. Humans or wolves? angels or a devils? I laughed a bit by myself. Not even the earth itself could resist his beauty. His ego was hurt when I rejected him. If I had said yes today, I wonder if he would even bother to take the step of marking.
I was just waiting for the sun to set. Finally the moment came. After the sun was completely set I heard light knocks at my door. One of the guards came in and whispered that uncle Zaden was waiting for me at the end of the Valley. He was working under uncle Zaden.
I needed to reach there by myself. But it would be a trouble if Alex or Zen had sensed my presence.
But the guard told me that they were attending a pack meeting. He suggested me to shift in my wolf form and leave through the roof. I was sure that if I could shift properly that time, jumping out of the roof wouldn't be a problem. Then I would be able to avoid the chance of getting seen by anyone in the pack house. But shifting was the real challenge.
I took deep breaths. I tried my best to shift. But failed a couple of times. We didn't have time. So the guard grabbed me and jumped from the roof. I was scared beyond anything.
I was about to scream but his hand prevented me from doing so. I was surprised how they managed to jump from such heights without even shifting.
I reached the valley where uncle Zaden was waiting. We crossed the border without anyone noticing.
Uncle Zaden took a safe route through the woods where the sapphires weren't having any bases.
But somehow Alex and Zen felt that my wolf was getting away. They went to my room and found out that I was gone. They took a few wolves with them to find me. The incident after that was a total mess.
Because of them coming out in the woods, the sapphires got the track of us as well and also they attacked.
It was a total massacre, I was running away from the pack. But they fell in trouble chasing me. They got attacked by more than ten groups of the sapphires. They were strong enough to fight all of them but they were not in thier right senses at that time because of me getting away. Instead of saving themselves and fighting back, they continued to chase me.
They were blindly following my fragrance in the woods. My pace was nothing like them. They would reach me anytime. On the other side the sapphires were chasing them.
It didn't take too long. They caught up to me. Uncle Zaden had to slow down because of me. When they came and blocked my way, uncle Zaden faced them. He was trying to give me the chance to run away. He was preparing to even fight them if needed.
But the sapphires caught up as well. And we had no choice left but to fight them together.
A intense fight began. We fought together. Since I was in front of their eyes, Alex and Zen gave their full concentration in the fight. And it was easy as pie for them to win.Obviously we won. Alex and Zen tried to get me back with them in the pack again. But uncle Zaden stopped them. Since we were almost at the end of the woods, uncle Zaden ordered me to leave alone.
But while leaving I saw the alpha himself coming there to get Zen and Alex. Zen and Alex would have followed me till the end. But the alpha also ordered them to let me go.
While leaving I heard a few of alpha's words. He was talking to Zen about choosing the right mate. He was the key to the spring. Without a strong vessel it would never awaken. I wonderer what that was about. But I ignored and ran as far as I could till the end of the woods.
After all these troubles, I safely managed to get away from the woods. In fact the alpha let me run away. He was totally against the idea of me being the luna. So letting me run away was a part of his plan as well.
After running for hours I finally came out of the woods in a river bank. I saw a farm on the other side of the river that was flowing.
That was the area from where the human territory began. I didn't know how to cross the river. I couldn't swim. But I decided to cross it anyway. And without thinking, I jumped on the river.
But the wave was so strong that I was almost drown. With my blurred vision before drowning completely, I felt like I saw a man on the other side of the river. He was painting something. I tried to shout for help. But water entered into my respiratory system and I lost my consciousness.
The next thing I remember was right after I came back to my senses. I was inside a cottage. The man saw me drowning. He saved my life. I was really thankful to him for saving my life.
He was a very good looking young male between 25 to 27. He was an artist. I took a look at the place. It was surrounded with arts every where. Beautiful and unique pieces every corner in the house. The man was warm and kind. He was taking care of me without any questions.
He made me a coffee and then sat beside my bed after I woke up. He awkwardly smiled at me and waited for me to finish the coffee. I was feeling much better after drinking the coffee. It seemed like he had a lot of curiosities going on in his mind.
"How are you feeling right now?" he asked.
I tried to bow in my semi sitting position.
"I can't thank you enough for saving my life and for your kindness," I said awkwardly. I never talked with a human before aside from my mom. She taught me about all the etiquettes and human cultures though.
"Ah,you don't need to thank me. Actually I wanted to ask you something," he said again.
I gulped. I was worried if he was going to ask me my identity.
"Last night I tired to get rid of your wet clothes. Though I didn't take out everything and also tried my best to be modest. But I noticed something. The scars on your hands, they healed by themselves after a while. I mean, they just faded away. This doesn't happen to a normal human," he said very calmly and then looked into my eyes.
"Look, don't be afraid. Since I have grown up in this farm, I have often met people from the other side of the river. I know the people who live there in the woods are not humans," he said slowly. "Are you one of them? Did you ran away from your home?" he asked.
I guessed he knew a lot about the wolves. Besides I needed help to survive. And I had no choice but to believe him. So I decided not to hide anything from him.
I told him everything briefly. He was a good listener and a kind hearted person. He listened to every details with curiosity. He was amused.
For the first few days I was afraid of him because I told him everything. He might have had a bad intention. Also I was not feeling safe there at all. Since he said that he had met with the people from the other side of the river, so wolves from my pack or other packs could be here anytime. They would obviously feel my presence here.
The guy was not a bad guy after all. His name was Edward. After a few days he suggested that I should move on to the town.
But I was afraid. Afraid of going to the human cities and town all by myself. He volunteered to come. He took me as his responsibility.
After that there was a long journey that we took together with holding each others hands
A journey full of his careful nature, a journey full of how he helped me to get through all the troubles of hiding myself, a journey full of how he stayed up the night while I was crawling in pain due to the marks on my neck, a journey full of how we started to grow feelings for each other,a very rational one.
How simple yet wonderful he was. How we managed all the troubles of running away from cities to cities. How he finally proposed. How I started to feel the marks on my neck was becoming lighter day by day. A journey full of how we became each others habit, a journey full of love and how we got married and how he never complained about anything and always supported me.

It was a beautiful sunny day. We were living in a small countryside. We bought a small house there. Since Edward was an artist, we carefully chose the best place for landscapes. We were living our happily married life.
We woke up together in the morning. After having breakfast he came to the yard with his art supplies. On the opposite side of the yard there was a very beautiful small forest, it was not a forest actually. A bunch of big tress and different kind of flowers growing here and there.
I did the laundry and came to the yard to let the clothes dry. The bite marks on my neck had lightened a lot. It was hardly even visible. But it was still there. It never faded away. Also I had two marks actually. Zen's that small pierce on my skin that night also left a mark. Not a visible one but it was also there. After so many years I couldn't feel anything about them anymore.
I almost forgot about that life. I thought I was finally out of that past.
But for the last few days I was not feeling well. A weird sensation was always there surrounding my mind the whole day.
That morning, suddenly after so many years I was feeling strange. I was having an ominous feeling.
I looked back at Edward. He was so focused in his painting. He looked so handsome when he worked like this. Just by looking at him I felt so warm.
Dad was right. Edward was the one for me. I finally found him. I kept my hand over my stomach. I rubbed it with love. I felt so happy.
Suddenly a strong breeze hit me. My face became pale. My hands were trembling. This feeling. I was afraid to look back. This couldn't be happening. To lessen my pains, Lexa my wolf chose to be in an eternal sleep. So I couldn't get the tracks when they were chasing me. I slowly turned back.
A few feet afar I saw two figures standing there. A gorgeous man in white, and a handsome one with black hairs, two familiar faces, Alex and Zen.
They finally found me. Their eyes were fixed on me. A smirk appeared in Alex's face. Zen's face was full of jealousy. Their eyes slowly followed where Edward was still doing his painting.
I quickly turned back. Edward was so focused on his painting that he didn't even realise their presence. A wolf's obsession never dies, I remembered.
I turned back and screamed from the top of my lungs, "Edward, Run!"
My breath was getting heavy. A sweet smell was hitting my olfactory nerves making my head dizzy. Strong arms were preventing me from going near Edward. He was struggling on the ground, a strong, big white wolf above him pinning him down on the ground, keeping him away from coming towards me.My senses were fading, my eyes were getting heavier, Edward's screams were now barely reaching my ears. I wanted to help him, I wanted them to stop. But my peripheral nerves were losing their abilities. Slowly I fell on the arms. When I finally got back my senses, I saw a beautiful artwork on the ceiling. It was so aesthetic and surreal, sophisticated furniture surrounding the room. Beautiful white curtains with rich embroidery on them. I was still feeling drowsy. I was not being able to remember exactly where I was. Suddenly my senses hit me all at once. I quickly got down from the king sized bed. I looked outside through the window.
I was born and brought up in this pack. From a young age I realised that I was different. I knew that I was not strong like others in my pack. But my father being a royal always saved me from being treated as one I never wanted to be facilitated over others. But my mom and dad used to always give their everything to protect me. Even though my father was a person of morales but even he couldn’t excuse himself from the fatherly love. I was always so distant from the pack responsibilities that I started to believe that there was nothing that this pack needed me for. In the past few years with Edward, I felt loved, I felt wanted, important. I spent my days well. But he made me realise one thing that I wasn’t born just to be judged by someone else's scale. I had my own role to play in this life. All the past memories were flowing in my head like a reel. I was moving forward to the throne. Everyone in the hall mov
I saw someone's hand grabbing the butt of the knife and pulled it out from my arm. I screamed in pain. I was bleeding heavily. The whole hall went silent. Everyone was shocked. I was again forced to get up. I looked into the person who just attacked me and was still grabbing my injured arm right where I was bleeding.A very beautiful girl with ocean blue eyes, matching her pale white skin and pitch-black long hairs were touching her knees. Her clothes were ancient-looking. That white piece of clothing that was wrapping her whole body was making her look like a goddess from an ancient myth. But her action startled everyone. Even Zen was taken aback by her sudden behaviour."Claire! You are going too far. Leave her hand, " the oracle ordered."Tsk- How dare you to put your filthy hands on my mate, you b! tch?" she asked ignoring the oracle."Mate?" I asked back confusedly. My arm was hurting like hell. She was still applying p
When I came out of the hall, I finally got the chance to pay attention to my surroundings. Surprisingly I wasn't being held as a captive anymore. The constructions had changed so much in the past few years. But there were way more people outside than I imagined and it was quite clear by their attires that they weren't from this pack.Even though no one was with me to put cuffs on my hands but there was a feeling of continuously being watched. Guessed I was a prisoner after all.And so looking for Alex still made sense more than trying to free Edward by myself. Besides all the people were moving busily. It seemed like they were preparing themselves for a festival.Alex had vanished without a trace. I never saw him after that morning's little argy-bargy."I guess he is only good at appearing in exasperating moments," I thought."Hey, you girl! Keep that bottle away right now!" A man with a flabby stomach came out o
Claire and the brunette girl shifted into their wolf forms. The intense fight commenced shortly. The enthusiasm of the fight was encrusting the whole arena. The mystery that everyone appeared to know was still encircling my mind. If the other packs were fighting to have the position of the luna in our pack, then there had to be some sort of significance. The loud cheering pierced through my eardrums, hitting my vestibules so hard, making me lose my equilibrium. The ruthless, crude blows of claire placed lethal injuries on the other wolf's body. The brunette retaliated, not wasting a second. The crowd cheered from both sides. My state of dizziness made me fall back to my knees. Ed strived to come to me, panicking. However, he got impeded by the strings. On the other side, Alex stood by me, dumbfounded. "Are you alright?" Alex questioned, rapidly kneeling by my side, getting anxious. "What happened? Are you feeling unwell? I can take you to the Alpha's room till the fight ends, you
The winning trumpet broke the awkward silence in the arena. The officials from the brunette's pack stared at their precious lady's corpse with widened eyes. A satisfactory smirk appeared on Zen's face. Claire climbed the stairs to the Luna's sacred throne. But an unrelenting groundhog day was awaiting that no one fathomed. "You people killed her!" suddenly one of the officials from the brunette's pack cried out. Claire halted midway. The man's outrageous scream drew everyone's attention. "You.Killed.Her," the man said, getting enraged. "She asked for it," Claire answered calmly. There was no change in her expression as if killing the girl was nothing. "Actually, no," Claire said again, beckoning."You people asked for it. You refused the proposition in the first place." Claire came down the stairs, standing before the man."Was it you who planned it? " Claire mysteriously asked the man, leaning and bringing her face close to the man. The guy appeared unprepared for her questio
"I can help," I said. Everyone stared at me in disbelief. "How?" Zen questioned. "Not gonna save your ass to get killed," I answered calmly. Zen stared at me coldly, clenching and then unclenching his fists. "You will not die," Zen said, attempting not to illustrate his annoyance. "Neither will he," I said, pointing to Edward. "You are not in a position to deal," Zen said, staring at me bitterly."You neither," I retorted calmly. "Either we all die here, or you can take the deal and live." I was aware Zen would break. The sound of the war drums was almost at the door. The entire pack was in chaos. There was nowhere to run and Zen was required to act rapidly. Fighting back was not even an option. "Why should I trust you?" Zen asked, clenching his fists. "What sorcery can a weak breed like you offer?" "You are wasting your time, Zen. She is only good at getting people killed. Do you believe a weakling like her can do anything?" Claire interrupted, attempting to manipulate Zen
Sounds of brutal confrontations and growls were coming from outside. The palm over my mouth stifling me was slowly withdrawn. Edward was right in front of me. However, he was calm. I turned back to come face to face with Alex. We were in a sort of cave that appeared to be hidden within the bushes. "Why are we here? Is it inside the pack? I never saw this place before," I stared at Alex and said. "We are in the pack. But no one knows about this place. You are safe here for now," Alex said. "What is your intention behind bringing us here?" I inquired Alex skeptically. "He helped me before," Edward said. I turned to Edward and then to Alex, getting confused."Can anyone explain?" I asked. "Zen sent an assassin to kill me last night," Edward said. "What? Why would he do that? He was aware I wouldn’t cooperate with them if something bad happened to you," I said."They planned to kill you as well," Alex said. "They decided to apply force if needed. They didn’t need Edward or your co
"What do you want?" I coldly asked, sharply staring at Claire. Claire only smirked. Her wicked smile annoyed me to the core. "How did you get out of the pack house so fast?" I asked again, skeptically. It was barely a few hours since we left the pack. The war didn’t appear like it would come to an end so early. If my pack attacked from the pack house according to the plan, it would still require Claire more than hours to catch up to my speed, unless she followed me at the same time I left the pack. However, I couldn't comprehend how was that possible. I saw Claire entering the pack house."I appreciate your strategy," Claire said, chuckling. She continued, "That was cunning, I must accept. Even though you saved the pack from the massacre, do you think the pack is foolish?" Claire smirked again. On the contrary, I was completely quiet with Edward standing behind me. "You can fool the pack. You can fool Zen. But not me," Claire said."I don't think I have anything left to expla
"Shush," Alex hushed, placing his index finger over his lips. The cave had opened into the woods on the other side, just above the tunnel that we used. The war hadn't concluded. The intensity of it made the ceiling of the cave shake violently. After walking for a while, we discovered the exit, covered in thick bushes. Alex began to move them to the side rapidly. Edward and I helped him to make it fast. As far as I could fathom, we were just outside the pack wall that was destroyed earlier. We came out of the tunnel, in an open space. The sky was covered with dark clouds. The moon wasn’t visible, making it even darker. We looked back to find the sea of blood, and the corpses lying on the ground. The entire scenario appeared as an absolute horror. "You need to leave," Alex said calmly.I only nodded. "Take care of her," Alex turned to Edward and said. "Thank you so much," Edward said. "I doubt I could save my wife alone if it wasn't for you." "Now, hurry up," Alex said, ignorin
