Isabelle’s Point of View:
“Wouldn’t you, Nicole?”
Confused, I turned around. It was obviously…
“You look different,” I suddenly blurted out, without another thought.
“Different good or different bad?”
“Neither,” I kept a straight face. “How do you know which name I had on my ID, Achilles?”He walked over to me and I tried to not flinch when he whispered against my ear: “Let’s talk somewhere else, shall we?”
I stepped aIsabelle’s Point of View:“So every fucking thing that happened between us was for a deal?” I interrupted him, my thoughts taking over my tone.“That’s not true, Isabelle—”“Shut up!” I shouted as I came to an epic realisation. It was not only the fact that he dismantled my life from the root, took away all the opportunities I had in my career, and made me leave my home country—but also that he seduced me and took my virginity—all for a fucking deal?“Is—” He stood up and took a step toward me, his hand stretching up in defence.
Achilles’ Point of View:“Anna,” I said as I grabbed her attention. She looked at me with a cold gaze, her eyes fixed with boldness and her posture serious. I hadn’t seen her in a while, but the last time I did—she wasn’t like this.“Achilles,” Her voice had also changed a bit. It seemed to be more mature, but not in sound—more like in tone. She was more confident. “It’s been a while.”“I suppose,” I replied. “Why are you here?”“Remember when you told me I had nothing of myself?” She took a dominant step toward me. “Well I wanna challenge you.”
Achilles’ Point of View:Reaching Tokyo happened faster than I had anticipated—and that might have something to do with the fact that I fell asleep for some 12 hours.Anyway, the better part was that I’ll probably sleep again for two hours when I reach there to get freshened up and then I’ll be done with the meeting. I just couldn’t wait to get it over with. It has been some time since I’ve enjoyed life.As the flight descended and then finally landed, I hurried out and grabbed my luggage, reaching out to my phone and calling for the cab to pick me up. Obviously, my father had already scheduled one to pick me up when I arrived—I only had to make a call.I went over to the cab and sat down, and he took me to the hotel room: also pre-booked.So after I was setted in my room, I took out my phone and saw a text from an unknown person.“You’ll have to pay for what you’ve done. Soon, Achilles, soon.” ~ unknown.I scoffed. It wasn’t my first time to receive a threat, I’ve had worse. These ar
Anna’s Point of View:As I saw Achilles walk away, I let out a breath of disgust. He wasn’t gonna get away with humiliating me and acting as if he were a God. I’ve had enough of this bullshit and there was only so long I was gonna stay quiet.Sure, he got to leave right now, but it wasn’t for long. He was gonna come back in a week and then, oh God help me, I will kill him.I will wipe that smirk right off his horrible face.“Anna, we should go,” I turned around and saw Oliver.I exhaled. “He’s gonna be dead, Oliver. I promise you.”“Hey, I get that you want revenge,” he kept a hand on my head and patted me, “But you should know your safety comes first. You know you have the very obvious option to let father handle it. He will vanish him out of existence within minutes. No one will find him, ever.”I shrugged my shoulder. “That’s exactly what he meant, Oliver. That my father can do it. I am not proving him right, okay?”“Well, that’s why I’m not stopping you from it,” He kept his hand
Isabelle’s Point of View:I was standing in front of my old house. Taking a deep breath, I walked toward the door and to my shock: it was indeed locked from inside. More so, I saw mom’s car in the backyard. She was definitely here, but why? Also, why wasn’t she picking up my calls? Why did she change her number? I was pretty sure she knew that I would know about her divorce no matter where I was. She didn’t even left me any messages before changing it.Well, I would probably know everything if I would just open the door and ask her. No matter what happened, I was pretty sure that she still loved me the same. I didn’t ever know what she thought of me and my behaviour in the last years while she was married to Mr Roman due to the same reasons — she became very quiet — but there was nothing I did that would make her not love me. I was her only daughter and she had loved me, in her own way. Even if she didn’t show it very often.I exhaled. Holding my breath, I rang the doorbell. As I rang
Achilles’ Point of View:I took a deep breath when I saw her. Even though I wanted to hug her, I held myself back. There were not enough words to express how relieved I was to see that she was okay. Maybe it was at this moment I realised how much she actually mattered to me.“Uh, you—um, you ok?” I asked instinctively, knowing it probably sounded stupid.“Is this a prank?” She asked, her face expressionless. “Cause I am not in the mood.”“No, it’s uh, can I come in?”“Well you’re already here, so…” she stepped aside and let me inside. I walked in and she closed the door, carefully not locking it.“You can lock it, you know. It’s a hotel, so your room—”“I know a thing or two about privacy,” She replied. “What do you want, Achilles?”“I know you wouldn’t believe me but, there’s uh…” I took a deep breath, “there’s a danger to your life. And this isn’t an excu—”“I believe you.”“Huh?” I involuntarily said. She exhaled and locked the door. After she came back toward me, she took out her
Isabelle’s Point of View:We had been driving for quite some time when I received a message. Hurriedly, I checked it out and it was indeed from him.“Shoot. You ran off? With that jackass?”Without any reaction from my side, I showed it to Achilles. As scary as it was that this person knew our every move, most of it was probably fabricated guess or just circumstantial opinion. And the last thing I needed to do right now was worry.“So you wanna go back?” Ace asked me.“Huh?” I asked before turning the screen toward me and saw he had messaged again.“Okay, fine. I give up. I’ll catch you later. Don’t run away now.”I exhaled. After thinking for a moment, I gave him my thoughts. “Uh, I don’t know. This is probably a trap.”“I suppose,” He replied. “But I don’t know, I mean, why would he warn us first if he wanted the surprise element? And if he doesn't, then it means that he genuinely wants us to go back to our lives, right?”“That makes no sense,” I said without thinking.“It actually
Achilles’ Point of View:This was crazy.I was going crazy trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Apparently, the message was now gone, and for some reason my father praised me—and this all happened while we had this crazy stalker on our backs who mysteriously decided to let us go?Amidst all this, another crazy thought hit me: what if my father was the one behind the threat and manipulation? Maybe he wanted to see if I could come back home to save Isabelle even if he was mad at me.Ah, that was probably a stretch.I par
