Caelum was instructed to stay with me in the room. I was wounded and seriously injured, since I didn't want to reveal my powers. If it was a rogue who threatened me, I would pounce on such, my abilities being revealed notwithstanding.

The time elapsed within a twinkling of an eye and my wounds healed before I could even raise my head. It was getting to the brim, when Alpha Thane wanted to sleep with me, as he kept saying he would devour me, if I didn't concur.

My heart was pounding heavily, even though my wounds were all gone. What of the wounds inside? Lachie went missing. Angus wasn't any close to me, neither did he know how to reach me and rescue me from the Thane Wrest pack.

Immediately, a thought flickered through my mind, making me sit properly. My eyes crossed Caelum's face straight away, and I turned them away instantly.

“Why did you turn your face?” Caelum suddenly asked, ushering me into an unfading amazement.

“Why won't I?” I shot back, sighing and rolling my head to p

I never knew Angus was close to my side, in the room where I was, until I walked out to the Alpha who had summoned me. “Woman!” Alpha Thane addressed me, grinning to start speaking bluntly. “Do you know the harm you are causing us in this place?” “I do not know.” I replied instantly, shrugging repeatedly as I folded my arms afterwards. “Nights over numbers of nights…” Alpha Thane continued, “I wasn't able to sleep only because of you.” “Huh.” I sighed, shocked and disgusted at the Alpha. “Now, tell me…” Alpha Thane let out.“What?” I interposed, hitting the tip of my nose to shun further disgust. “We are in public right now, and I want you to be sincere with yourself.” Alpha Thane resumed his speech, breathing threat at me with repeated sighs. “You must be plain and direct, if not, I will consider you as the Future Luna and crown you in no time.” “Then, you become the mate Luna to Alpha Thane!” Ewen's voice followed, as he suddenly walked to the spot. “I hope you enjoy each oth

The door kept dangling at a slow pace until a gusty window came blowing from an unknown direction, making the entire building shake. My sleep was cut short by the rumble, so I tried to change my position. As soon as I lifted my eyes up, I realised everywhere was dark, darker than the night. I recalled that the night had already elapsed and even midnight had passed. But, the wind was now casting another dark cloud over the atmosphere. By my side was Angus, his face beautified with something like a smile, still asleep though. I was shocked, but since he wasn't awake yet, I quickly decided to summon my ghost mother. “What's this?” I said to myself, grumbling as though someone was actively listening to me. “You can actually tell with time.” My ghost mother's voice interrupted me, scaring me. “Let me know when exactly you've been here.” “I can't remember, mother!” I voiced back, shaking my head. “The pain is more than what I can endure…” “But, I passed through it too.” My ghost moth

“Ellie!” Angus exclaimed, his voice suddenly arousing a gasp from me. I turned around to see where he was speaking from, but I was shocked at what I found out. The clouds were wrapped with darkness but the ground was clear, illuminated by a strange light which hid amidst the sky. I was baffled at this and almost thought I was in another trouble. I left my position, trying to find Angus's whereabouts. As I turned my head to a side where I thought less of, I saw Angus’s feet right at the tip of the roof and I was taken aback. “What are you trying to do?” I asked, blinking my eyes as I secretly dropped a Whiskey bottle into my bag. “Nothing much.” Angus replied, shaking his head to be calmed from his fatigue. He was sweating profusely, but I noticed he didn't care more than save me by quickly drawing me to himself. “But, is there a bird you're aiming at?” I asked him another question, my arms crossing into each other very slowly. “When did you start hunting for birds, Angus?” “Stop

As the light almost disappeared completely, I pierced my hands into it and landed on a tarred floor. I made it, but looking for Angus was another mountain to crush. I didn't feel free with the passers-by immediately. I only kept ogling at them as if I desired something big from them. Before I could drift my head to check another direction for Angus, someone tapped me at my back. It was Ronan.“Hey, Ellie!” Ronan exclaimed, his voice coming with an echo of excitement. “I have been waiting for you. I am happy you scaled through.” “Angus and…” I stuttured, my hands down since I didn't know what to reply with. “Lachie, right?” Ronan questioned me, nearly making me want to hug him. I was hoping he would say he had found Lachie, so I was sighing repeatedly. “Are you fine?” “Yes, I am.” I replied. “Have you found Lachie?” “I have.” Ronan responded, exhilarating me instantlyI jumped up in amazement and mirth, and grabbed Ronan's hands, so we could go and see my baby boy. Meeting my mate and my handsome boy as well, Lachie, made me glad again. I was already dreaming about a happy home of ours. It was as if I had transcended to an unknown world, when days passed over days with mirth filling the atmosphere of each of them. I was excited to see that everything went on well in the new pack Angus was building up. My face twisted at the sudden disconnection of the power which had already revived the electronic appliances Angus bought in the new house. It was a great moment of enjoying modern ways of life, and so the power supply made the house a very active one. “What's wrong, mom?” Lachie asked me, speaking gently with a soft voice of his. “The power had an issue,” I replied to him, holding a part of his smooth chin. “So, the electric cables have to be sorted out, soon.”“Okay.” Lachie answered me. I never expected another life to be, apart from the times I enjoyed together with Angus, even though we often did it in that dangerous zone called Arleta.S

“Hand over the phone to me.” Angus instructed me, as he walked into the sitting room. “He just cut the call.” I said, sighting Angus immediately as he entered. “Honey, you are back.” “Yes, dear.” Angus replied, a kind of eagerness wrapping his voice. “But, you should have sent Lachie to reach me. I wasn't far from you guys. I would have preferred to speak with him.” “Honey, is he the same Caelum?” I asked Angus, hoping to hear a negative response from him. Perhaps Angus would say no, I didn't know. “Yes,” Angus replied, suddenly bursting into an uncontrollable laughter. “Caelum is a repentant wolf.” “How?” I asked. “Can you ever believe Caelum is your brother, and that he is ready to give up on Alpha Thane now?” Angus voiced, ticking his teeth on the tongue to emphasise the wonder. “I have actually found out many secrets about him and Thane Thomas, as well.”“Unending secrets amuse me, but…” I interposed, wiping my face with a handkerchief. “Turn the fan back on.” Angus blurted

“Don't utter a word.” I heard from a distance, my eardrums pumping in amazement. Lachie had already fallen asleep, so I had to lay him in a cot and place him in the underground room, reserving the thought that it was very risky. It was Angus's voice I heard, and I flinched, moving from a direction to another. In no time, I saw a sudden appearance of something like a phantom, becoming clearer according to the tick of the clock. “Wait…” I muttered to myself, a sigh following immediately. “Don't be afraid.” My ghost mother said, her eyes consciously blinked at me. “I have come with a good news.” “What is it?” I asked her, turning my head towards her, my mind calmed by her presence. “It is time to take revenge.” My ghost mother revealed, holding a piece of stick up in the air. “Mom, on who?” I asked her curiously, raising my eyebrows. “Do you mean Alpha Thane's pack?” “Not really on his pack.” My ghost mother whispered in return. “I have now been empowered to join you in the fight.”

Exactly one and a half week later, close to when my ghost mother said Alpha Thane would be weakened, I noticed strange things happening. I heard the news late, but it was still ongoing and waa deeply affecting the Thane Wrest pack. “I thought you knew earlier.” Angus said to me, as he gulped up hot tea in a glass. “I would have told you. I'm not sure you are even aware of Mary's final disconnection with the Thane Wrest pack.”“Mary…?” I asked, out of sheer amazement at Angus's words. “How is she connected with the pack before now?” “Take a sip first.” Angus requested, passing the glass cup to me. “Okay.” I answered him, my mouth sweeping everything in the cup. “Oh, you added sugar, honey?” “Yes.” Angus replied, smiling. “How did you know?” “Don't I have a tongue?” I blurted in return, my voice lowered at a strange buzzing sound. “Honey, be careful.” Angus cautioned, his eyes clearly fixed at me, as he turned backwards and opened his both hands right away. “Watch out for those b

Moonlight and clearing reigned, as even now the full energy of the ancient tree coursed through me. Visions were mercifully bright and elegant, telling secrets of our pack's history and destiny. It stirred awe and wonder in me, as my brain tried to process the weight of what I had learned. Deep breath, to chill out the racing thoughts. I clearly knew that I had to share it with Angus and our advisors to let any meaning sink in, but for now, I may just stand in the serene clearing. Suddenly, silence fell apart with the rustling of leaves. Turned alert on high senses, a figure showed from the shadows, eyes sicked upon me with an unnerving intensity. Then close, I was shaken by the shiver that raked my spine again as he took a step closer, facial features still hidden by darkness. "Scream caution. Protect. Our pack."It raised wide hands, preparing to defend, were it needed. Another step forward and I could make out a little of their features - shape of face, general outline of eye

I lay down softly on the ground and began to look around for the fight. The Thane Wrest pack was powerful, but I was not to be defeated. With one smooth move, I tore into the wolves, closing my fingers around their mouths to rip out their teeth. They howled and snapped as they stumbled backward, trying to shake out the confusion.I attacked quickly, bringing down wolf after wolf. But with each kill, the gnawing sense of caution appeared to grow stronger. I didn't want to kill those wolves. They were forced to fight just as my pack members were. A moment's hesitation was all the Thane Wrest needed to rally. The wolves were breeding practically unlimited. I realised the need to do something fast. "No killing. I wonder why we cannot just settle this fight between us!” The wolves stopped their growls but looked at me with frightened but firm eyes. I knew I had to do something or be swamped.Breathing a little harder, I bound my mind and unleashed a blast of my power. The wolves were knoc

I stood there tall in front of the Thane Wrest pack. My feet were suspended above the ground, and my voice rang clear through the clearing, being reflected back off the trees. "I am here for peace, with an offer for a treaty that would end the bloodshed between our packs." The tension was palatable, the pack members exchanging casino glances. Some looked away; others looked at me with a blend of curiosity and hostility. I met them unwavering. Then from the throng, a tall figure strode forth. There appeared a frown on Alpha Thane's face and in the process, it widened in rage. "You're nothing but a fool, don't you know?" he shouted at me, spitting on the ground, his tone wrapped with scorn. "How can just walk in here and demand that we sign a treaty?" I grinned; my gaze was fixed on his. "I don't demand Alpha Thane; I propose. I'm willing to negotiate terms." Alpha Thane's face grew even darker. "The only term I'll accept is you becoming mine." I laughed, filling the clearing with

CHAPTER 76 It was the first day of the full dark moon and I realised it was just counting. The moment meant for the war with strange beasts and we, the wolves had just started. I was seated with Angus, my wolf mate and what he could only do was caress me. "Angus!" I calmed him down, looking at him closely. "Why aren't you concerned about what might suddenly happen?" "When I am horny?" Angus reacted strangely, rolling his tongue lustfully. "I shouldn't be any concerned, my love.” "Angus, this isn't the time for your lustful desires!" I retorted, pushing him away gently. "We have a war to prepare for, lives to protect!" He chuckled, his golden eyes gleaming in the dim light of our den. "And what better way to protect lives than to ensure the continuation of our pack, my Luna?" He reached for me again, but I stood up, my patience wearing thin. "Angus, be serious!" I growled, my wolf instincts rising to the surface. "The dark moon brings out the worst in those creatures. We need

The following day was sweet, as well. But, I felt no change in my body. My wolf didn't come out of my body. I wondered but the feeling of sleeping with Angus, my husband that night was too sweet. Angus reached me, as if knowing each of my thoughts. "Are you ready for an outing in Arleta. Shall we go to a nearby bar?""Hmm, what of Eric, your friend?" I asked, concerned."No." Angus objected. "He can't be with us, seeing our tools. I will fuck you right there too.""Okay." I replied, firmly agreed to Angus as I kept staring at him. "I want doggy..." I purred, rubbing my body against his, feeling the familiar heat rise within me. He chuckled, a low, rumbling sound that vibrated through my core. "As you wish, my love. But first, let's have a drink, shall we?" He took my hand, his touch sending shivers down my spine. The anticipation was almost unbearable. I knew that tonight, under the Arletan sky, with the taste of alcohol on our lips, we would unleash a passion that would leave us bre

"I don't see you," I said, my heart pounding in my chest. "This isn't funny, Angus."A low growl reverberated through the air, and the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end. It wasn't Angus's voice, and it definitely wasn't human. The sound seemed to come from all directions, making it impossible to locate its source. Panic began to set in, and I spun around, desperately trying to find something familiar in the shifting shadows. Then I saw it. A pair of glowing eyes, burning like embers in the darkness. They were fixed on me, and I felt a primal fear grip me, paralyzing me in place. The growling intensified, and a dark shape began to emerge from the trees. It was large, muscular, and covered in thick fur. Its teeth were bared in a menacing snarl, and its eyes held a wild, predatory gleam. This was no ordinary animal. This was something else entirely. Something terrifying."Angus?" I whispered again, but I already knew it wasn't him. This creature, whatever it was, had taken his pl

At a nearby restaurant called Klingon bar, where Angus usually visited since we got here, in order to have some fun, and take his mind off worries, he stood and watched around, hoping he would meet Mr. Kenneth, who was his new adviser. As usual, I was around him to ensure he was doing well and nothing bothered him much. I stayed with Sarah, his friend at the bar. It had been two hours, Angus hadn't even heard of the man. Several peeping through his window didn't work, especially when he found out from Sarah that the man had travelled for a tour. Angus yawned. Sarah offered him a chair as usual, but not with any soft drink. He called her, talking to her as if he was joking. "Sarah! Won't you offer me a drink at least? I trust you for the delicious… orange juice." "Hmm…" Sarah returned, her response conveying the same thought as Angus's. "I think we have a small extra here, I'll be back soon." She entered to get one cup for him and arrived so quickly with a straw neatly pierced in i

It was a snowy day. Nothing happened yet. Suddenly, Angus's voice broke the silence. I was in the study room, overhearing Angus's complaints. "God!" Angus howled, not speaking to anybody, but to himself. "It's high time I found a job in this strange land. Why should everything be unclear?” "Perhaps New Hawkshire wasn't meant for you…" Mr. Cooper retorted, as he appeared suddenly from the dining room. "Oh, you are here, sir…" Angus whimpered, almost bowing. “What's the meaning of that?” "Keep it right there." Mr. Cooper reverted, his mind clearly rejecting Angus's greeting, and angry, because of the words he heard him say earlier. "Are you reporting me to God, or what? Whatever…! Just make sure you secure a job, and shamelessly make your own money, at least for once…" "Money?!" Angus interrupted him, almost rudely. He was getting frustrated and at that particular time, I walked in. "Dad, what's wrong again?" I questioned Mr. Cooper, who played the role of my father due to his w

Since we found ourselves in another land, we weren't settled yet. What bothered everyone mostly was the war.Angus sighed, waking up to the usually dull atmosphere, his mouth effusing cold breath as of an idle person. He didn't have any work to do, not even a reasonable duty. "Hi, Mr. Cooper!" He greeted the man he called his father-in-law, who had accommodated him in a family house. "Hope you slept well, Angus?" Mr. Cooper returned, closing and opening his eyes intermittently to shake off some dust off his face. "Yes, sir." Angus answered, hoping to escape and go outside to perhaps walk around. He feared Mr. Cooper's threat, especially whenever he was angry and was pointing at him, hurling potent words at him. "Come over…" Mr. Cooper interposed, not letting Angus move a step. "Have you ever seen the person you love today? Let me start from there." "Oh, sincerely…" Angus replied, trying to snub the right response. "But, she hasn't woken up.
