Carrie and I had already made our presence known at the Gala, and even the main organizer had seen us, albeit not in the most pleasant way. It was clear that it was time to call it a night, so Carrie wasted no time in leaving the event.

The night had ended on a sour note, something that was far from what I expected. My anticipation in Jerick’s words was a person wanting to hurt Carrie physically. Turned out, that Jerick was referring to an emotional pain that was more than I could handle at this point. He hadn't mentioned any names, but I couldn't shake the feeling that the Alpha I faced was the one he wanted Carrie to be protected from.

In the car, Carrie looked frustrated and disappointed. The mood was heavy, and there was an uncomfortable silence that was hard to ignore. I couldn't help but worry about how upset Carrie seemed.

I wanted to ask Carrie about the mysterious man who had caused her such distress, to make her feel better, and to wipe away the unpleasant expression

JesseAs I stepped outside and ventured into the woods, a whirlwind of emotions consumed me. I tore my clothes apart, letting my frustration and anger rise to the surface. With a fierce growl, I embraced the transformation, shifting into my wolf form mid-air, and raced back to Silverfang. It was the place where it all began, where the seeds of deception were sown, and the place where everything would be put to an end.A burning fire of anger smoldered within me, remembering how I had endured for eight long years because of a single lie that had turned me away from the life I should have been living now.The memories of that fateful day flooded my mind, and remorse gnawed at my heart. Jerick's last words before he disappeared flooded in my head, haunting me. "I should have known," I muttered to the wind, acknowledging the gravity of my past mistakes.Jerick had made a painful sacrifice for the sake of Carrie and his pack, swallowing his pride and placing his trust in me. But instead o

Jesse“Liar! That’s not true! Take back what you said! Take it back!” Kelly was hysterical. She kept on cursing and shouting vile things at Robert. Her chest was moving up and down, with a mixture of fear, anger, and nervousness illuminating her.“I am not lying!” Robert retorted. His eyes glistened with tears of regret. “It was you who put us into this mess, and yet you were not ready to defend us like you promised. You used us as your pawns to do all the dirty work for you. You know what? I used to admire you. I actually believed that you could be a better Luna than Lady Carrie, but I was wrong. You didn’t care for Silverfang. You didn’t care for us. You only cared for yourself and your title!”“I said, SHUT UP!!!!” Kelly growled. Her razor-sharp claws started to appear, with her fangs now visible in her mouth. She was about to launch at Robert but hesitated until the last minute when she looked at me.I felt like I was put in a trance. The gravity of the situation was too much to

JesseI fulfilled my promise to Robert. Though it fell short of the dignified send-off typically reserved for the officials of our pack, I still allowed his wife and son to pay their respects. They organized a proper farewell for him before they faced the consequences of his actions. The rest of the wolves under his command met a similar fate.In contrast, Kelly's body was cast out beyond the pack's boundaries. I refused to permit her body to be cremated or buried. Instead, I left it to the scavengers to do as they wished while her father remained imprisoned, awaiting trial. I heard that most of the guards relentlessly punished him, seeking retribution for the numerous wrongs he had committed against them. I couldn't care less if he perished there; he had it coming, anyway.

CarrieAs we sat around the table inside the Alpha packhouse, the atmosphere was filled with warmth and love. The room was softly lit, creating a cozy ambiance that perfectly complemented the happy family gathered for dinner. The wooden dining table was large enough to accommodate the three of us comfortably, with enough space for hearty, home-cooked dishes prepared by Jerick himself.Jerick had stepped into the role of Liam's father figure since I gave birth, and it warmed my heart to see their strong bond. Liam affectionately referred to him as "Dada," a testament to their love. I felt fortunate to have my brother by my side during this journey of motherhood. It was during these moments that the Alpha packhouse truly felt like a home.As we sat at the table, Jerick patted Liam's head and asked, "How's your day, Liam?"Liam's face lit up with joy as he eagerly shared his adventures. "Today we had a contest, and it was super exciting.”I couldn't help but smile, relieved that my son h

CarrieKnowing that Jesse would visit us in Silverfang, I woke up early the next morning. I hurriedly got ready before Jesse was due to arrive at lunchtime. I packed our things, including some items for Liam, but when I told him it was time to go, he hesitated. Liam refused to put on his shirt, whining about missing his training class."Mommy, I don't want to go. I can’t miss the training class today. We will go on a hunting trip today with the rest of the class. Can't we just go on another day?" he pleaded.I didn't want Liam to stay any longer at the pack house. Jesse could appear at any moment, and I didn't want him to see my son. So, I thought of a plan."Don't you want to spend some time with mommy? Did I do something to upset you? Do you hate me now?" I asked, with puppy eyes, while pleading with Liam to come with me.Liam saw my sad face and felt bad. “It’s not that, Mommy. I would never hate you.”“Then, why don’t you want to spend time with me? You know how busy Mommy is, and

Carrie"Does Jesse know?" The question hung in the air, heavy with unspoken emotions. My heart raced, and I could feel the knot of anxiety tightening in my chest as I met Nancy's gaze.My throat was dry and constricted with the weight of the truth. I knew this question couldn't be avoided, so I swallowed hard before responding to Nancy's question."I have no plans of telling him," I admitted, the words feeling like stones in my mouth.I could see the sadness in Nancy's eyes, a mix of concern and confusion. Her expression revealed the complexity of the situation and the struggle she had to understand why I had kept Liam a secret for so long. Her unwavering support for our relationship had always been clear, and this revelation was challenging her deeply."But why? Jesse deserves to know. He is the child's father." Nancy's voice was filled with genuine concern, and the desperation in her eyes mirrored my own inner turmoil."He revoked his chance of being Liam’s father the moment he tur

JesseAs I drove towards the Blackmoon pack, my heart raced, and my grip on the steering wheel tightened. Thoughts of Jerick and my past mistakes filled my mind, creating a storm of emotions inside me. JesseShock and shame enveloped me as Jerick's words pierced through the room, recounting the horrors they had endured. "Do you even understand the helplessness I felt when you turned down our pleas?" As Jerick spoke, his face contorted with anguish, his voice laden with emotion. His eyes held a profound hurt, and with every step, it was as if his soul bore eternal scars from the pain. It was a gut-wrenching revelation that my actions had caused this much pain and anguish."No, you wouldn't understand," Jerick continued, his voice tinged with bitterness. "You didn't even consider what my team and I went through to reach Silverfang that day. You dismissed us like a swarm of worthless flies."The magnitude of my wrongdoing washed over me, and I felt a deep sense of remorse for the pain I had inflicted on Jerick and his pack. My silence was a testament to the realization that there was no defense for my actions, only the heavy burden of guilt and shame to bear.My mind revisited the tra

Jesse I was preparing everything for Liam. The time had come for him to return to Blackmoon after spending some time with me in Silverfang. As I gathered his things, a touch of melancholy washed over me. Our time together had been an incredible experience, and now it was coming to an end. "Make sure you don't forget anything," I reminded him. Liam nodded, a bright smile on his face. It had been two years since our battle with Corey, and we had all returned to our peaceful lives. My life had transformed into a colorful and joyous one since Liam had entered it. Carrie had finally agreed to let me be part of their lives as a co-parent with Liam. I had been making up for lost time and bonding with my son, and even the Silverfang pack celebrated his arrival the first time he set foot here. Jerick, although he hadn't forgiven me completely, was now civil and warmer with me. He had expressed his approval of me being in Liam's life despite everything that had happened between our packs, an

Jesse I followed Ex-Beta Corey's instructions and arrived at Skull Valley alone, determined to do everything to save Liam. I knew the risks of facing Corey and his rogue army, but I had no choice. My heart pounded with a mix of fear and determination as I ventured deeper into the desolate valley. The moon hung low in the night sky, casting an eerie glow over the rocky terrain. I had to navigate carefully to avoid any unwanted confrontations. The wind rustled through the dry grass, and a chill ran down my spine, making me feel more vulnerable than ever. Finally, I spotted Corey standing near a gnarled tree, holding Liam tightly. Our eyes locked, and a tense silence hung in the air. “Mr. Morris!” Liam shouted, making Corey twitch slightly on his side, silencing him with a tightened grip. I clenched my fist seeing this. “Don’t you dare hurt him!” I shouted back. “I did your bidding. Now, release the boy at once and face me!” Corey shouted with a smirk, "You're a fool, Jesse. Coming

JesseThe day had come for me to face Corey. I stood before the mirror, adjusting my shirt, trying to steady my nerves. I'd been in many battles before, but this one was unlike any other. This time, I had to confront my enemy with an unknown disadvantage, and I needed to find a way to succeed, or else I would lose my son before he even knew I existed. We had decided to stay in the Astoria pack until the day of the confrontation. I was in the room that Alpha Christian had provided as my temporary chambers, mentally preparing for the impending war. Running away was not an option this time.As I tried to gather my thoughts and find the courage I needed, I heard a gentle knock on the door. I knew my mother had come to check on me by her gentle voice. She had been trying to engage me in conversation, sensing the weight of the situation, but my mind was preoccupied, and I had ignored her repeated attempts. She entered the room with some supplies for my journey, her concern and love evident

CarrieThe tension in the room was palpable, like an invisible storm cloud hanging heavily in the air. As the troops wisely decided to make their exit, their footsteps echoed in the silence, and the atmosphere grew even more charged. Alpha Christian and Jerick left as well, their absence leaving us alone to confront the emotional turmoil that had long been simmering beneath the surface.Nancy hesitated, her eyes brimming with tears. An unspoken concern was etched across her face, a deep worry for what might transpire in the room. However, her reluctance to leave was overridden by my firm determination. I could feel her trepidation, her desire to stay and protect, but this was the moment for Jesse and me alone."I think this is the time for Jesse and me to face our past," I finally broke the silence, my voice quivering with a mixture of resolve and anxiety."But, Carrie—"I locked eyes with her, silently pleading for her to trust my judgment. JesseI asked the question, desperate for an answer that Carrie wasn't giving. Frustration boiled inside me, and I raised my voice, demanding the truth from her."Answer me, Carrie! And don't you dare lie to me! IS LIAM MY SON?!"But all I got from Carrie were sobs and heavy breaths, and I needed answers urgently. As I leaned closer to her, a strange sensation began to infiltrate my mind. It felt as if an invisible hand was delving into the recesses of my thoughts, attempting to convey a message. This eerie and disconcerting sensation hinted at a presence trying to communicate with me, yet its source remained unclear. It dawned on me that it was a connection attempting to breach the boundaries of my consciousness, and the realization hit me like a thunderbolt. It was a mindlink, a rare skill possessed only by high-ranking wolves."A mindlink," I muttered, and the others in the woods exchanged glances. Gene pointed out that it might be Corey.Without wasting a moment, I shouted urgentl

I clutched my chest, desperately trying to calm my racing heart and regain some semblance of control. I attempted to convince myself that my son was okay and that nothing bad would happen to him. But who was I kidding? Liam and his friend had been kidnapped by an unknown wolf, and the likelihood of him being hurt in the process was a one-in-a-million possibility.“Liam! Liam! Where are you, sweety? It’s Mommy! Liam!”Desperation consumed me as I called out Liam's name in the woods. The thought of Liam being alone and vulnerable in an unfamiliar place tore at my soul. He was the last person Liam and Jaxon were seen with before they went missing.""Another kid was involved?" Gene remarked, his voice tinged with surprise.
