CHAPTER 97: AN EYE FOR AN EYE

Saul's POV

The second I peel my eyes open, I instantly regret it. The light was blinding. It seeped into my eyes, threatening to take away my sight.

“Easy, Saul.” I recognize the voice as Caelen's. With time, I am able to adjust to the light and find Caelen sitting right beside me.

A groan leaves my lips as I sit up. And an even louder groan leaves them when I realize there is another bandage on my head.

My attention shifts to Caelen, who appears equally as battered as me. He has a large cut running down his cheek and a large bandage wrapped around his upper torso.

“Please tell me we killed that bastard,” is the first thing that leaves my lips as soon as the memories come flooding back into my mind.

“Yes, I did.”

My head snaps to the left side of the room to find Roman leaning against the wall with his arms folded above his chest. He has his eyes trained on the bed by his side, and I follow his line of vision.
