CHAPTER 116: BAD SAUL

Meredith’s POV

“Sorry, I guess I will come back some other time,” Saul says before clearing his throat. He turns on his heel to leave, but then I hop off the counter and go after him.

“Wait!” I say, and his feet come to a halt. He turns around, and the look in his eyes saddened me for some reason. “You weren't interrupting anything. Right Caelen?”

When I looked over my shoulder, Caelen did not look like he was buying the idea. His chin was clenched, and the annoyance was evident.

I suppose it was to be expected considering that we were seconds away from ripping each other's clothes off. And now here I am, disregarding his feelings as though they were nothing.

I really am not a good person.

Caelen tears his gaze away from mine, and judging by the way his jaw clenched, I could tell that he was stopping himself from saying what he really wanted to.

“Yeah,” is Caelen's only response before turning his attention to the food on the gas.

Great.

Now he's mad at me.
