Ivyrose’s POVWe drove in silence all the way back to the hotel. Gareth took off my blindfold once we reached Manhattan. I figured it was a good one hour from that villa to when I heard traffic again and wondered if they blindfolded my bodyguards too. When we were near the hotel, I could hear his deep sighs and had to keep myself from crying again. How could I love such a monster? How can he be my Gareth yet also Ricardo Sanguin the mob lord— Heir to the mafia throne. How can I accept what they do? How can I be with him knowing the things I saw? Oh God why do I have these kinds of decisions to make? My mind hurt from all the questions that wanted to be a priority. The car stopped and Gareth touched my hand, making me jump and bringing me back to reality. “Rosie? Are you scared of me?”“No.”“Are you okay?”“Yes.”“Are you mad at me?”“No.”“Rosie, please. Talk to me.”“I…have to go. I need to think.”“I understand. Do you want me to take you up?” “No. I’ll call you tomorrow, okay? I
Ricardo Sanguin’s POV The paparazzi shouted our names while the flashes of their cameras blinded us once we were outside the majestic theater. Ivyrose buried her head on my chest as we walked fast toward my car. I wrapped my arms around her and I've never felt more powerful than at that moment. I was finally able to protect her. I finally had the power to be worthy of her. Amids the shouting and pushing, one guy slipped on mine and Ivyrose's bodyguards. He rudely blocked our way to get a good shot of Ivyrose as she tried her best to hide her face. My blood boiled and my hand automatically pulled out the gun in my chest vest and pointed it on the center of his forehead. People shouted as they backed up. The man trembled and wetted himself, begging me not to shoot. He let his camera fall on the ground and stomped on it himself. “I’m so..sorry. I have kids. Please. Just trying to get a good shot.” "Ga—Ricardo. Please." Ivyrose said and I put the gun away, taking her to my car. "W
Ricardo Sanguin’s POVIvyrose Foxworth didn’t know what was coming for her. My sister Hannah and my mom took her to the spa after our lunch. At first she declined saying she wanted to help me with packing, but then when I told her to go, she couldn’t keep saying no. When I got to the mansion, Seb, who I hadn't seen since we left New York, was already there. “Is everything ready for tonight?” He asked me as we hugged. The dark circles in his eyes were bigger which always meant he was stressed.“Yeah. Everything is perfect.""Good." We let go of each other and he stretched his arms up, yawning. "By the way we have to talk about New York.” “Later. I don’t want my mood ruined before tonight.” Seb’s tone told me it wasn’t good news.“Okay. I’ll go lie down and order a red head. I’m fucking tired and stressed out. You want one?”Seb chuckled when I shook my head, smiling unbelievably at him. “I’m joking. I know you’re never touching another woman ever again, Romeo.” “Ivyrose is more t
Ricardo Sanguin’s POVWhile Ivyrose went to the restroom with the wives of my college buddies, I went out to the cliff again, feeling the need for some fresh air. As I lit my cigarette, my hands trembled, when I thought of what I shared with Ivyrose a while ago. "Hi. Paco. You were right. I finally have her back. I've asked her to marry me and she said yes. Can you believe that?" I wiped the tears that pooled in my eyes. "I miss you, buddy. I fucking wish you were here right now. I'm really sorry. I'm sorry. GOD. I'M SORRY…" I sobbed as scenes from my past after we moved out of the Foxworth mansion all resurfaced. "It's okay. Death is better than this fucking disease, man so shoot!" Paco shouted. "Do it. If you want me to respect you and call you my son, fucking shoot him now! You need this to harden your heart. You don't need friends. You only need money. You only need me, Gareth. That's how you'll survive this world and be as powerful as me one day." Gerardo Sanguin whispered in
Christopher’s POV I woke up and immediately felt bad, smelling puke. My puke. It was on my face— some dry and some still slimy. It was all over the bathroom floor where I was lying face down. I groaned and tried to get up only for my hands to slip on the floor, and my face fell with a thud. “Ow. Shit.” I moved my hand upward and used the bowl to lift myself up. The bowl had puke, poop and god knows what and I gagged when it all swirled together as I flushed it. Groaning, I reached for and held onto the sink, and filled it with water. The bathroom spun around me and I gagged, my fresh puke mixed with the sink water. "Fuck. Fuck. Fuck."I pulled the stopper and waited for everything to drain, regretting drinking a whole bottle of vodka on an empty stomach again. Three days straight was my new record. My reflection showed a long haired, thick bearded man with really dark circles under his eyes—white shirt that looked like I wiped my shit on. I felt so sick. My stomach ache kept makin
Christopher’s POV“One more shot. Come on. What harm could it do, huh?” The woman said, yet my vision started to blur. “No. I uh I need to get a cab. Bye. Nice talking to you…uh…”“Rebbeca, silly. We’ve only been talking for three hours now.” she chuckled. ******I blinked for a second and the next thing I knew, I was in a cheap hotel room that reeked of rat poop. “Wait. How do you know what rat poop smells like?” Hailey interrupted me. We were sitting in Lance's car in the parking lot near Times Square and the three of them were eager to know my darkest secret as if it was some sort of movie. “From the orphanage I grew up in, happy?” “Sorry. Please continue.” *******“Wait. Rebbeca. I can’t do this. I have a girlfriend. Wait.” Rebbeca started unbuttoning my pants as I lay on the bed, the whole room spinning around me. “Stop. NO!” I pushed her but she only laughed. My arms felt like jello and I couldn’t even feel my feet. I closed my eyes, resting my head on the pillow and lost
Hi, everyone. First of all I want to apologize for making you all wait yet again. I'm really really really sorry. As usual my personal life got in the way of me finishing/editing the final chapters, plus I made the mistake of giving my brain a deadline so of course it rebelled and didn't work when I had about 1-3 hours free time (just staring into a blank screen). Now I'm finally re-reading the book to check for errors and then I can finally upload the last few chapters and then have my editor mark it complete. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all again so so so much. Your gems, chapter comments and 5 star reviews have made such a positive impact on my writing journey. Godbless and Hope you are all doing great. Love, KM
Ivyrose’s POV I watched my dad’s nostrils flare as one of Ricardo’s men checked his chest and the rest of his body for any weapons or recording devices. Gareth smirked when our eyes met. We were thinking the same thing: The powerful Rex Foxworth submitting and swallowing his pride just so he can see me again. "Seriously?" My father said when Nestor patted his crotch area. When he saw me looking at him, he gave me a weak smile which disappeared the moment Ricardo put his arm around my shoulder. For someone so rich and powerful he looked so weak and tired. I sighed when I thought about how I refused his calls while I was having the time of my life in Italy. My mother kept telling me he was worried sick about me, but I couldn't bring myself yet to forgive him. Now guilt coursed through me with how much he's aged in a month and a half. My mother was just standing there, waiting uncomfortably. “That’s enough, Nestor. Let them through.” “Was that really necessary, Sanguin?” My dad sa

Ivyrose’s POV“A year ago it was all over the news how New York was finally Mafia free. The Mafia Dons and all their goons, along with all corrupt government agents were either all put behind bars or killed in the biggest entrapment in history, thanks to the genius of billionaire Christopher Stanford. He made a program that could hack…”Gareth turned the TV off before he jumped into the bed with me. He tickled my feet and I kicked and screamed for him to stop in between fits of laughter. I was just randomly changing channels when Christopher’s face showed up and I got curious. It was his interview for a talk show.I knew what it was going to be about. Gareth told me how, after I disappeared, Christopher fought with him and they almost killed each other before he listened to Gareth about where I really was. He asked him to help defeat the whole mafia system by taking out all their paid allies. Of course when everything was done, Gareth disappeared and gave Chris all the glory. Accordi
Ivyrose’s POV It felt good to be unknown. I loved how I could walk the streets and people didn’t have any idea who I was or would judge me for my sins. Being off the grid in the city of Kuta in Bali, was the best decision I ever made. I lived in a rental cottage that’s only big enough for four people, but I couldn’t be any happier than living in all the mansions in New York. Sometimes I felt so all alone and scared that I liked to think that Paul and Ivan were secretly living a few houses down the road and were still watching over me, trying their best to be invisible, ordered by Gareth to give him peace of mind that I was safe. The market fruit vendor, Mr. Uwir, who also happened to be my neighbor, handed me a plastic bag full of mangostenes and we exchanged small talk until eventually it ended with him inviting me to attend his granddaughter's birthday party the next day. I accepted in a heart beat when I heard she was the same age as Harmony. I missed the two of them so much, bu
Ricardo Sanguin's POV The sound of the gunfire right in front of me rang sharp and cost me my hearing. I saw Ivy drop the gun on the floor and kneeled right after, crying. For a few seconds I was lost in the suddenness of everything that transpired, thinking I got shot by Rex. With my shaking hands I hurriedly unlocked the chain from my foot and ran to Ivyrose. I hugged her as we both sat there and cried with Nestor and Rex’s bodies on the floor, their blood pooling around us. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m sorry, Rosie.” I repeated, again and again. I don’t know how long we sat there, crying and me asking for her forgiveness. I felt like someone was squeezing my heart so tight, making it almost impossible to breathe. If not for the warmth of her body as she hugged me tight, I would’ve gladly wanted death to take me too. But I couldn’t leave her. I needed to protect her, especially now that Rex was truly dead. “Gareth? Please take me out of here.” “Okay, Rosie. Hold on.” I got up firs
Ivyrose’s POV I tried calling a million times today again, but Hailey and Hudson's phone only kept ringing. My heart pounded in my ears wondering if anything happened to the three of them. "It's been two days since we last talked, mom. All I know is I woke up Christmas morning and I was alone. Only a voice message from Gareth that he has to go away for two days with the padrino and he asked me to stay here and to trust him. Shit. I hate not knowing. You know me, mom." "Oh honey, I'm sure they're just doing some couple soul searching therapy thingy. Leave them alone and stop worrying. You'll get wrinkles. And as for your husband, what can you do, but trust him, right?" she laughed and hung up the phone before I could even reply. In the background I heard a man's deep voice calling her sugarplum. I shook my head and threw my phone on the bed when my call to Gareth’s phone still went to voicemail. Something wasn't right. Hailey would never leave like that. I paced around our bedroom
Ricardo Sanguin’s POVVilla de Sanguin was once again filled with laughter because our little Harmony would not sit still. She and Seb were playing tag inside the living room, the old man was having the time of his life running after an almost two yr old you would never imagine him to be a stone cold killer.Ivyrose and Hailey were in the kitchen helping the cooks prepare our dinner. Hudson was sitting near the fireplace staring at it as if hypnotized by the dancing flames. “Dinner’s ready.” Ivyrose said, standing by the door. Harmony ran to her in panic because Seb was going to catch her. She stuck her tongue out at Seb the moment Ivyrose lifted her in her arms. Everyone, especially Harmony, laughed when Seb pretended to cry like a baby for losing tag against her. The five of us sat around our smaller round table and made small talk while eating the delicious homemade ham and chicken pasta. Ivyrose suddenly fell quiet and when I asked her what was wrong she just said, she missed h
Ivyrose's POV I put the two dozen outfits I picked out for Harmony on Hailey’s shopping cart. It was a beautiful Sunday on the day before Christmas, and we decided to spend our day off hanging out together. The three of them agreed to spend Christmas in our mansion instead of in their house in Staten Island. "Boss, that's too much. She's—." "Really still with the boss? Why do you keep forgetting we're partners with the flower shops now?" "I'm just used to calling you, boss. Feels weird to suddenly call you Ivy." "Rosie." "I thought only Gareth could call you that." "What? No. Only the people closest to me can." "Aww I love you, Rosie." Hailey said, hugging me tightly. “Thanks for spoiling that little critter of ours.” “Of course. I’m her fairy godmother, remember?” I said and we chuckled. "Besides you guys are my only family now that mom's so busy with her boy toys in Millan." I said and we chuckled. “Did she ever tell you what she and your dad fought about?” “Nope. Sh
Ricardo Sanguin’s POV Live in twenty minutes, boss. After I read the text, I tossed my phone on the other side of the bed and held her in my arms as she slept peacefully. My beautiful Rosie. She had her head on my chest and I caressed her hair. Ivyrose moved in her sleep, got off my chest, and laid on her back. It was already seven in the morning and I knew she was waking up, so I started playing with her nipples through her silk pajamas until they hardened and she moaned. “Mmmm. That’s always the best way to wake up.” “Really? Close your eyes again. I wanna try something else.” “Okay.” she giggled and closed her eyes when I kissed her cheeks. “That’s great too.” “How about this one?” I said as I pulled down her silky pants and panties, parted her legs and started licking her folds going to her clit. “So if I keep my eyes closed you’ll think I’m still asleep and you’ll continue that to wake me up, right?”“Right.” I chuckled and continued to pleasure her while my hand wen
Ricardo Sanguin’s POV "Ricardo! No! But why?" Rex squinted, adjusting to the light. "You've had your ass kicked for a month and that's all you have to say to me?" I chuckled. I looked at the mighty Rex Foxworth and felt tingles of happiness all over my body. He looked like a homeless man in a dirty torn tux who’s been mugged at least a hundred times. His fingernails and toenails were all gone, pulled out by Seb while I watched him scream and asked what he did to deserve it. The buttons of his inner dirty white shirt were open and his chest had cauterized wounds of different sizes and shapes. "What do you want, Ricardo? The company? Don't hurt Ivy. I'll give you the company. I'll give you everything you want." "Everything I want? But don't you see, Rex? I do have everything I want. Ivyrose is the CEO of your company and you are here as my prisoner, but the cherry on top— that woman whom you said could never be mine, she is my wife now. Here watch this. We fucked right on your
