Chapter 6

Caroline woke up late in the afternoon. She had no intention of going to work because she would have to see her parents again. Her whole body was exhausted, and she just wanted to sleep all day.

She closed her eyes as there was a knock on the door. Pretending to be asleep, she involuntarily bit her lip at the delicious smell of food. She opened one eye and glanced at who brought the food for her. Her brow furrowed as if it was someone different than usual who delivered the food. She scrutinized the young man in a black suit.

"Breakfast in bed, My Queen!"

Caroline clenched her teeth upon seeing Miguel holding a food tray. There was a hint of teasing in the young man's voice.

"Get out! I'm not hungry!" she snapped at him, her eyes fixed on the food.

"I won't leave unless you get up and eat the food prepared by your cook," Miguel firmly stated as he walked toward her bed.

"Perhaps you've forgotten that you're just a personal bodyguard and have no right to enter my room!" Caroline retorted.

"With all due respect, Ma'am Caroline, your father says you need to come in now. He mentioned some reports still need your attention," Miguel respectfully conveyed, placing the food tray on the bedside table. "Please come in, Mrs. Cristy."

The maid, Mrs. Cristy, quickly entered the room. "Sir Samson has been calling for you earlier, Ma'am Caroline..." the maid mentioned, bowing her head.

"Tell Daddy I'm not going in today!" Caroline ordered.

Miguel's jaw tightened. He couldn't believe the way the young lady was treating the mansion staff. She showed no respect for the elderly.

"Will you get up or should I ask your parents to block your ATM cards?" Miguel threatened, knowing that money was what motivated the young lady.

Caroline squinted her eyes, glaring at the young man. This was her weakness. She was afraid of losing the one thing that brought her joy—having money.

Miguel took out his phone to call the girl's father. Samson had been calling his daughter repeatedly, but her phone was off.

"I'll call your father and—"

"Fine! I'll get up already! Damn it!" Caroline shouted and quickly got up.

"Looks like you're obedient after all," Miguel teased, returning his phone to his pocket.

He secretly smiled, realizing how quickly Caroline believed that he would call her father. He had caught Caroline's fear of losing money and being scolded by her father again.

"Have something to eat before you take a shower. After you shower and get ready, we'll leave," Miguel instructed.

Caroline pursed her lips and glared at him. "I'm not hungry, okay!"

She then entered the bathroom in annoyance after Miguel and Mrs. Cristy left. She had to go in because she had reports to finish for her parents' company where she worked.

After studying, Caroline's parents immediately brought her into the company. She was tasked to head the Finance Department.

"Did you eat the food?" Miguel asked when Caroline got inside the car.

The girl didn't answer. She didn't know how to interact with the young man after what happened. Her bodyguard took her virginity.

Caroline closed her eyes, pondering how she would forget about the man she would be with every day. She bit her lower lip as thoughts of their encounter flooded her mind. The way he thrust and moaned. It wouldn't leave Caroline's mind.

"Are you okay?" Miguel suddenly asked, noticing the girl's silence and lip-biting.

Caroline opened her eyes and glared at Miguel. He was looking at her seriously. She cursed inwardly. She shook her head while holding onto her temples. She needed to find a way to erase him from her mind.

"I need to get rid of him." She repeated to herself over and over again.

Miguel grinned and averted his gaze when Caroline didn't respond to his questions.

"So, now you're acting like a princess? Making a scene while—"

"Shut up!" Caroline yelled in irritation, cutting off Miguel before he could finish his sentence. "Drive quietly. Don't talk to me!"

Miguel remained silent. They traveled in silence on the way to the company.

Caroline quickly got out of the car after Miguel parked. She didn't wait for him to open the door for her. She hurriedly walked into the company, with the young man following behind.

The female employees couldn't help but notice whenever Caroline and Miguel passed by. The girl couldn't help but glance back at the man following her, who was also looking at her.

"Yes, Ma'am? Is there a problem?" the young man formally asked her. Caroline glared at him before continuing towards the elevator.

Miguel smirked discreetly as the elevator doors opened. They quickly stepped inside. As the elevator doors closed, he swiftly took the girl's wrist. Caroline's eyes widened as she stared at the hand of the young man gripping hers. Miguel pressed the button for the tenth floor, where Samson's office was located.

"Let me go!" Caroline protested, trying to pull her hand back, but Miguel's grip was too strong.

He faced Caroline. "Do you have a problem with me? You've been glaring at me since earlier. I'm just doing my job properly, I hope you can also get along with the people around you."

Caroline took a deep breath and forcefully withdrew her hand. "It's none of your business how I treat you. You're just a mere personal bodyguard, so don't act like we're close."

"Miss Caroline, you may be forgetting that I signed a contract with your parents. One of the clauses is to assist you in interacting properly with others."

Caroline shrugged, "I can't believe this."

The elevator chimed as they reached the tenth floor. Miguel stood up straight and followed the girl as she walked ahead.

"Wait here. You're not allowed to enter Daddy's office," Caroline said, quickly closing the door on Miguel.

Miguel sat on a vacant seat outside Samson's office, waiting for the girl. He looked around, observing the employees' actions.

"Good Morning, Sir Alexander!" the employees greeted as Caroline's suitor arrived.

Alexander didn't acknowledge the greetings from the employees. He was known by all, and they were intimidated by him, even though they knew he was slowly changing for Caroline.
