I dropped my gun and fell to the ground. I looked up at the armed men and then back at Dom. I checked his pulse. My eyes closed as I realized he was gone.

"I'm so sorry, Dom. I didn't mean to. I didn't know this was your line of work," I whispered, taking his hand. "I'm so sorry..."

I turned when I heard Rene's voice. I quickly wiped the tears forming in my eyes and picked up my gun.
