Skyler Jefferson lived in a medium apartment on the eastern coast of A city. She lived there alone. Her mother would always nag her to get herself a boyfriend but there hasnât been any man that pleased her eyes, at least not romantically. It wasnât that she was ugly appearance-wise, no she wasnât. Skyler was beautiful, with shoulder-length honey brown hair, mesmerizing grey eyes, and hearty lips, she would easily get anyone, only that she wasnât interested.
When she bought Elissa to her apartment, she wasnât sure how to take care of it. Elissa was disheartened, traumatized, and on top of that pregnant. She was afraid that her mental condition and stress would affect the baby. She lend her shoulder when Elissa poured her heart out all night. It made her cry as well. She had never experienced such a thing and she wished she never had to.
Elissa was packing when Dr.Skyler opened the door. Elissa was startled at her arrival. Confused, Skyler asked, âWhy are you packing, Elissa?â She put down the bag on the table and walked toward Elissa.
Elissa bit her lips and her eyes averted from left to right, wondering how she should explain. âM-my brother is coming to pick me up.â Skylerâs eyes widened in astonishment. She had no idea Elissa had a brother too.
Elissa was surprised too when she got a call from her brother an hour ago. The brother with whom she had lost contact years ago. Hearing his voice, she was overwhelmed and she couldnât help herself from sobbing. In that flow, she ended up telling him that she wasnât in the right state. He immediately asked her to pack her things and he would come to pick her up. Elissa was worrying the whole morning about how she would feed herself and her baby. she couldnât stay here and be a burden to Skyler forever. She was relieved to get the call from her brother, Jonathan.
Elissa told Skyler everything about how she hadnât heard anything from her older brother for years. âYou have helped me so much that I canât thank you enoughâ Elissa smiled. âI will surely repay you whenever you need my help, doctor.â
Skyler breathed a laugh. âI hope you will be happy and safe wherever you go, Elissa. I will miss you.â
A few minutes later, the doorbell rang.
Opening the door, Elissa was met with the familiar face she missed all these years. Her eyes got watery again when she saw her brother. âB-brotherâŠâ she hugged him tightly, her tears wetting his sweater.
Skyler stared at the man in front of her and she couldnât help but stare at him. She couldnât comprehend why her heart was fluttering at a time like this but she knew the reason.
Elissaâs brother was undeniably handsome, and maybe the most attractive. His hair was in the same color as that of Elissaâs, styled neatly with a few strands falling on his forehead. He glanced at her for a second and her belly flipped. Just for one second when their eyes met- blue to grey, she thought she almost lost breathing.
Jonathan chuckled, embracing her little sister after so many years. âI missed you too, Eli.â
Sniffing, she met his blue eyes and asked how did he get her number. âI remembered your number with my heart and I had assumed that you have kept the same number. And I was right. I am so glad I find you, Eliâ he smiled, bringing out the dimples on his face.
Elissa introduced her brother to Skyler. Skyler was awestruck and she shuttered while introducing herself to him. His smile was damn charming! âThank you for taking care of my sister,â he said with a smile. Skyler blushed and smiled back. Even his voice was smooth like silk.
âIt was my job as a doctor,â she said, shaking his hand. She then offered him a glass of juice but he politely declined to say they would be late for the flight. Jonathan carried his sisterâs luggage and said goodbye to Skyler. Later, they took their leave from her apartment. Skyler watched as they went to the black Mercedes. Soon the car was out of her sight.
Three years later, âHere are the documents you required, sirâ Elissa kept the documents on the desk and waited for her bossâs command. Her boss was on the phone call and she thought she could come later but he asked her to wait. âŠI understand. Iâll be there soon.â Benjamin ended the call and turned his attention to Elissa with a smile. âGuess what?â âI am bad at guessing, you know that very well sirâ Elissa replied assertively which made Benjamin chuckle. âWe are going to city Aâ he revealed. Elissa almost choked on her saliva hearing the name of the city where she had lived before coming here to city B. Worried, Benjamin handed her a glass of water. She hastily drank the water and regained her composure. She couldnât let him know about the horrible time she had over there. âIs everything alright?â he asked. Elissa nodded, lying that she was completely fine. âSo what is the purpose of going there?â He leaned on the leather chair and with a smirk on his handsome square face, he
Elissa was hurrying to do her hair and makeup, in between muttering about Benjaminâs last-minute update about them going for dinner outside.Satisfied with her look, she exited the room carrying the clutch and went downstairs directly where Benjamin was waiting for her. Reaching down the building, her mouth formed in the shape of an O when she saw the Porsche car behind Benjamin.Benjamin was awestruck to see Elissa in that dress. Everything was simply perfect and the way she pouted her rosy lips and the widening of her brown orbs, made his heart flutter. He smiled and stretched his open palm forward for her to take.Placing her hand in his, she asked with amusement, âYour car?ââHey, I am the CEO of the largest company at B, I do have some dignityâ he joked making Elissa chuckle. He loved to see her smile and especially if he was the reason for that.âShall we get going?ââAfter youâ he opened the door for her and once she was comfortably seated in the car, he shut the car door and w
Hera paced around the living room back and forth, thinking in tension about the arrival of Elissa. She tried to call Carson but he wasnât picking up her call. She hasnât slept well the whole night. She was worried and anxious about the thought of Carson and Elissa getting back together. She couldnât let that happen and so she asked one of her friendâs help to dig out where Elissa resided. It was a mere work of half an hour to find the location. Hera decided to meet Elissa and tell her to stay away from their lives.-Elissa was making herself a cup of jasmine tea when she heard the doorbell. Yawning, she went to open the door. She almost lost her footing when she the person she expected the very least. Hera stood in front of her with her eyes narrowed. Elissa sighed and kept her cool. She assumed she was here because of her encounter with Carson. Before Elissa could say anything, Hera snapped at her.âHow dare you came back! Did you forget what happened three years ago?âOf course, sh
Hera forced Carson to take Amanda out for a dinner. He was not at all interested, not after the argument he had with Elissa this morning. However, he couldnât say no to his mother and so went with Amanda to a random restaurant. But to his utter surprise, he saw Elissa smiling and talking with Benjamin. His eyebrows furrowed and he was suddenly very jealous. Amanda followed his gaze and saw Elissa. Her skin burnt at the sight of her. She thought with a grimace, âWhy does she have to be everywhere?âAmanda didnât want to eat here and most importantly did not want to let Carson meet Elissa. She was about to tell Carson that they should go somewhere else but he was already walking toward their table like an angry bull. Amanda gritted her teeth and cursed Elissa for ruining her night with Carson. She strode towards Carson and stood beside him. When her eyes met with Elissaâs, she threw darts at him. Benjamin warmly welcomed them to join upon Carsonâs demand and having no other choice, Aman
Carson was doing his work on his laptop in his room when he heard a knock on the door. It was his mother. He asked her to come in. Hera came to talk to him about the engagement between Carson and Amanda. Carson kept his laptop aside and looked at his mother. âThereâs something I need to talk to you about, son.âHera wanted the two of them to get married soon. She wanted Amanda to be her daughter-in-law because of her identity as the mayorâs daughter. It would only benefit both the families and there would be no place for Elissa. âCarson, it's been months since the statement of the two of you getting engaged soon. When are you officially declaring her as your fiancĂ©e?âCarson was upset about the whole thing with Elissa that happened yesterday and he didnât have the mood to talk about engagement. âI donât want to talk about it now, Mom. I am going to the officeâ Carson said perfunctorily and took his jacket from the chair. Hera urged again but Carson was out of the room already. Hera le
Elissa let out a horrified shriek when a hand pulled her from her behind. "Shh, love it's me" Carson spoke in her ear, assuring her heart at ease. Elissa's heart was still racing. She turned to face and lightly smacked his arm. Carson laughed."I was scared" Elissa pouted and crossed her arms over her chest. She turned her face away from him and pretended to be mad. Carson smiled and pulled her closer to him from her waist. Elissa tried to keep a straight face but she couldn't help but smile at the way Carson's eyes gazed at her lovingly. He tilted her chin and leaned closer to give a soft kiss on her rosy lips. Elissa smiled and kissed him back. How could she be mad when he showered so much love on her?Pulling back, she asked, "You came early. Is your work over?" Carson pushed the strand of her hair behind her ear and nodded. "But I am still not done with mine," she said with a teasing smile.Carson gave a peck on her nose, making her heart flutter, and said, "I know. I will wait an
Benjamin checked in the direction of Elissaâs workplace for the fifth time but Elissa was still not there. He thought that maybe she was running late and thought of giving her a call. However., her call went straight to voicemail and it made him worried. Elissa always answered her phone and it was also odd for her to be late. He thought to wait for another hour but when she still wasnât present, he couldnât just sit at the office. He took his jacket and left the office in a hurry to go and check on Elissa. He knew it would be awkward for Elissa to find him on her doorstep but he was worried for her. He drove his Porsche to her apartment building and went upstairs. He pressed the doorbell several times but Elissa was not responding. Benjaminâs eyebrows were knitted together and his anxiousness grew. He yelled her name but no response. Having no other options left, he banged open the door after several pushing. He was shocked to see Elissa lying on the floor of the living room. He immed
Benjamin gave Elissa gave a day off. Elissa didnât argue this time because she felt she wasnât ready to face him yet. Elissa was feeling better than before and did her pending work in her leisure time. Later, she got a call from Benjamin and she consciously accepted the call. Elissa felt awkward greeting him but Benjamin acted as if nothing had happened between them. âI would like your company to pick some things. Well, I needed to pick something to add to my house and since I am not really good at choosing items, I was thinking if you can give me a company?âElissa blinked and took her moment to answer. She was hesitating because she didnât want to give him any hope. âElissa, I know where I stand. You donât need to worry. I really need your helpâ Benjamin added, assuring her. Elissa heaved a sigh and agreed to go to him to the market in the afternoon.Elissa went to the market where Benjamin was waiting for her. He was in his casual wear so it was hard for her to recognize him in the
Elissa's heart was beating fast as she reached nearer to the Waverly building. She was feeling anxious because she would be confessing her feelings to Carson. Reaching the building, she took the elevator, going up the floor. On her way to the hallway, she met Lin who was surprised to see her but also glad she had come. They gave each other a nod, and Elissa went to Carson's office. She didn't care to knock and simply entered. Carson was on his laptop. Files and documents were all over the office. It was a mess. Elissa's chest rose and fell when she saw him in front of her.Elissa took steps towards him and stopped in front of the desk. Carson had no idea Elissa was here, but suddenly, he snapped his head up and saw her in front of him. It felt as if he was dreaming. When he wanted to see her the most, she was here. Was he hallucinating?âEli?â he croaked, involuntarily rising from the chair. âAre you really here?âElissa smiled wide, tears started to make her view hazy. She went to hi
âElissa!âElissa flinched, coming back to reality after hearing Benjamin's voice. âYes?â she croaked, positioning herself correctly on the chair.âAre you alright? I called you twiceâ he said. Elissa nodded, saying she was fine but she wasn't. She was thinking about Carson. She was worried about the company situation. Although she did help him with the design, she still thought it wasn't enough. She had the urge to go and check if he was doing okay but she had been holding herself back. She knew how workaholic Carson was, and he wouldn't rest until and unless the work is over.âAnyways, we have a meeting at ten. You need to be present there as wellâ Benjamin added. As he was leaving, she asked him about Carson. âHave you heard about Waverlys Group and Co facing a tough time?âBenjamin's left brow rose in curiosity, wondering why she was asking him about it. âWell, yes. I do am aware.ââIs it bad? Will the company go down or what?â Benjamin was a bit surprised to see the desperate worr
âMommy, where is Daddy? Why hasn't he come today?â Lia questioned the moment Elissa entered the apartment.âHe didn't come?â she asked. âHe must be busy with work, sweetheart. Don't worry, he will come some other dayâ Elissa tried to assure her daughter.âWill he leave us? Will he go to catch fish again?â Lia pouted, making a sad face.âNo, of course not. He is only busy with work, love.ââCall him!â Lia demanded. Elissa didn't want to call Carson even if she too wanted to know if he was okay. Elissa refused, making an excuse that she shouldn't disturb Carson but Lia wasn't going to buy that.As they descended to the living room, Elissa gestured to her brother to handle Lia but he shrugged, saying, âShe had asked me about for the whole day, eating my brain out. I think you should just ask that lad. Lia will calm down by then.ââMommy, please! Call him!ââAlright, alright. I'll call himâ she agreed at last. Taking out her phone from her purse, she dialed his number and waited for him t
Raymond House,âYou are hurting me, Ben!â Georgina cried, trying to break free her wrist but Benjamin had grabbed her wrist tightly, dragging her with him inside of the house. He pushed her forward. âWhat the heck, Ben?â Georgina scowled, looking at him with questioning eyes.Harold and Diane came from upstairs when they heard the noises. âWhat is going on?â asked Harold, looking at Benjamin then at Georgina.âI told you Gina. Haven't I? If you dare pull and tricks again, I will never forgive you. I have warned you, haven't I?â Benjamin glared at her. He looked scary for the first time since Georgina had been with him.She gulped, flinching by his words. âYou lied to me, Gina! Not only to me but also my parents!ââWhat lie?â asked Harold.âShe is not pregnant! She was never pregnant, Dad.âHarold's and Diane's faces formed in the shape of an O. This was shocking. Georgina panicked. Everything was going to end. What should she do? She thought to herself. She knew she couldn't deny it b
Elissa watched Carson play with Lia. She had wondered if he would be a loving father when they were planning for a baby, and it made her smile that he actually loves Lia more than she thought.Elissa also wondered why he hadn't come to her apartment for three days. He always popped in her apartment with a stupid smile but when he didn't came the past three days, she thought that he might have given up or that something might have happened back in home or the company. Her daughter kept on asking about Carson all day but she doesn't even know why he didn't came. She resisted calling him. She didn't want to show she wanted him there, that she cared about his presence.Elissa didn't realize that Carson was looking at her as well, a smile playing on his lips. She blushed and averted her gaze towards somewhere. There was a problem with Benjamin going on as well, and she had assumed it was most likely Georgina.âHiâ Carson breathed in her ear, making her jump on her place. Seeing her horrifi
When Elissa went to notify Benjamin about her work, she noticed he was tense. His forehead was creased and he was in deep thought that he didn't realise she had come in. âExcuse me, sir.âBenjamin blinked, coming back to reality. âOh, yes, well, what were you saying?â he asked, turning on his laptop.Elissa gave him the pen drive in which her presentation was saved. âThe work is done. If you can check it and let me know if there are any flaws, I will correct it before tomorrow.ââYes, sure. I'll let you know in an hourâ he said, his eyes narrowed at the laptop screen.Elissa was telling herself that she should mind her own business, but she couldn't stop her mouth. âIs everything alright, sir?â she blurted.Benjamin looked at her and she saw something was bothering him. He was fighting whether he should tell her anything or not. âSome personal issues. Nothing seriousâ he assured her with a tight smile. Elissa knew he had lied but she did not press more. She took her leave, closing the
It was yet another normal day. Elissa was doing her work assigned to her inside her office when she got the call from Benjamin to bring her the file he needed. She grabbed the file she had kept on the file holder, and went to his room, passing the workplace.Just as she was passing by, she saw Georgina along with a woman who Elissa thought was in her mid forties entered from the elevator. Georgina met Elissa's eyes and they still harbored hatred for her.Elissa and Georgina were both going to the same room, which made it awkward. âWhy are you going there?â Georgina asked in a rude way.âSir has asked for this file so i am just going to give him thatâ Elissa said politely.âWhat's your name, miss?â asked the woman with a tight smile which Elissa knew was fake.âElissa Williams.âRealization drawn upon that woman's face as if she knew who Elissa but was meeting her for the first time. âI am Georgina's mother,â she introduced herself. âBrittany.â Elissa had assumed that must be the case
Raymond Company,Elissa was nervous as she walked inside the Raymond company building. She felt as if it was her first day. It sure was. She was overthinking about encountering Georgina again. She doesn't want any rivalry. Yesterday, she gave her answer to Benjamin about joining back again, and he was elated. She hasn't told this to Carson, because why should she? She wasn't answerable to him in any sort of way. When she entered the workspace, all the employees had their eyes on her. Elissa felt awkward and smiled at them tightly. She made her way towards the CEO room, knocking on the door first before entering. When Benjamin had said to come in, she pushed the open inside and went in. Benjamin's eyes beamed instantly when he saw her. He smiled, âGood morning, Elissa! Welcome!âElissa smiled tightly. âThank you.âBenjamin was about to say something when the door burst open and Georgina came in. Her eyes narrowed when she saw Elissa. âHow dare you come here again?â she scowled.Elissa
After Lia's surgery, Carson was visiting her more and more. Elissa was annoyed but at the same time she was happy to see her daughter glowing.âLook, I have you the permission to see her, but that does not mean you will come to live hereâ Elissa said. He was playing with Lia in the small living room and Elissa had asked him to follow her to the kitchen leaving Lia with Jonathan who was as annoyed as her.âYou don't like me here?â the question made her gape. Was she not clear enough that day?âYes, I don't, Carson. I don't think you should give Lia hopes that you will always be here, taking care of her and all. There is no chanceâââI was not bluffing about what I said on that day. I meant every word. I will always take care of both of you. Even if you don't like me - which is a lie - I am not letting go of my daughter or you. I have made that mistake before, I don't want to again.âElissa knew she couldn't agree with him about this, so let it go and sighed. âFine. Whatever. Buf you ar
