“This is not true! It isn’t me, Carson” she protested but she have already fallen into a big trap.
“Your mouth can lie but this picture will not!” he bellowed and threw the pictures at her which went flying on the ground. “For how long have you been cheating on me, Elissa?”
“Carson, believe me. It's not me! I would never do such a thing to you! She begged but it wasn’t of any use. She reached to hold his hand but he jerked away.
“How shameful! I knew you are filth!” Hera chimed in, pretending to be new to the truth. “How dare you cheat my son behind his back!” She stepped forward and forcefully grabbing Elissa’s arm, she made her face her. “Tell me, is that child in your womb that man’s?”
Elissa was aghast at what her mother-in-law said. “No! I-Its ours! It's mine and Carson’s” she defended herself and she placed her palm on her belly. “Carson, believe me. The pictures aren’t true!” she went on begging him. Seeing Elissa in such a pathetic state, stirred something in Carson’s chest. He refused to look at her and clenched his jaws hardly.
Elissa bawled. “How can this happen?” she cried. She looked down at the pictures, wondering who would frame her like this? She had no idea who that man was but even if she kept on protesting there wasn’t any use for that.
“Let’s divorce” Carson stated. Elissa’s face paled hearing the news and her mind went numb and cold. He met her eyes and repeated the words, “I want to end this marriage.”
Elissa couldn’t believe her ears. “No, Carson you cannot do this to me. W-we can resolve this, can’t we?” How naïve of her to still have hope for that.
Carson shook her head in dismissal. There wasn’t any room left for resolution and discussion. “But we love each other! How can you end this just in a blink?” she shouted.
“I do not love you anymore, Elissa. We are over.” No emotions, nothing. His hazel eyes held no emotions at all. It was as if he was doing a business meeting. It felt to her as if she meant nothing to her anymore.
“No! I don’t buy that! We took vows to love and cherish each other to the end!”
“Then you should have kept that in mind when you were hooking with that man behind my back!” he snapped at her.
Amanda walked towards him and slid her arm around his. “Don’t be mad” she said tenderly and acted intimate. Elissa felt like puking seeing the two acting close. Since when did these two start to get close and why was she not aware of that?
“I have called my lawyer. He has prepared the divorce papers and we only need to sign on that” he asserted as a matter of fact. Elissa was angry, pained, and traumatized. She felt like a fool who thought she had the best husband who doted on her dearly. Seeing him completely fine when Amanda brushed her fingers delicately on his chest, made her wonder about the time when he said that he hated when any other woman tried to be intimate with him other than her. She let out a bitter laugh and wiped her tears roughly.
“Is she the reason you are divorcing me?”
Without a change in his expression, he answered, “Yes. I love her.” Those words damaged her internally.
“Okay, I will sign the divorce papers.” What was the use of begging when he didn’t even love her?
Carson faltered a bit but regained his composure again. Clearing his throat, he said, “Good.” At that Hera and Amanda were on cloud nine. What they have planned was working! They both shared a knowing smile. Amanda tolled in between, “We love each other very much. Sorry but this wasn’t the way you should have found out.”
Elissa ignored her words completely. She felt like an outsider once again in this room. A sudden odd feeling that wasn’t able to comprehend. Now, she thought that there was only her and her baby.
However, Hera had different plans for that. “After you signed the papers, you will go to the hospital for abortion.” Elissa was staggered.
“No, I will not abort the baby!”
“Carson, tell her to abort the baby!” she ordered her son. Elissa had thought that no matter what, Carson wouldn’t be that heartless to abandon her own child.
Gulping and with a tensed expression, he said what his mother wanted. “You will go to the hospital for the abortion.”
“What?”
“You heard him. I don’t want you to have anything related to our family!” How could they be so cruel? Elissa’s heart and trust were completely shattered. She never thought she would have to see a day like this. “What are you waiting for? Go and sign the divorce papers.”
Carson sighed heavily and was the first one to proceed. Elissa mustered her leftover courage and went after him. Hera and Amanda walked after them, snickering among themselves about their successful plan.
The lawyer was already present in the living room along with the divorce papers kept on the rectangular glass table. The members took their seats on the couch and chairs. Elissa was trembling and tears wouldn’t stop flowing from her eyes. She felt tired and weak. Carson took the pen and without wasting any second, signed the papers quickly. At each paper he signed, Elissa felt her chest tighten to the utmost which made her unable to breathe. Carson was done and he shifted the papers to Elissa.
Elissa grabbed the pen with her trembling hand and read the words which were written boldly on the first page. DIVORCE AGREEMENT.
“Do it quick!” Hera urged with annoyance. Elissa signed and with that, the divorce was settled. From now on, they were no more husband and wife. From now on, she and Carson have no relationship. Now, Elissa was left with nothing.
“I will proceed this to the court. It will be done within two days” the lawyer said and took his leave.
“Take her to the hospital now,” Hera said. Elissa saw Carson curling his fingers into a fist sitting beside her. She peered her gaze up but instead of what she desired, she found the indifference on his face. Carson rose and told Elissa to come with him.
“Wait, I will come too” Hera articulated. She couldn’t trust her son at the moment. After all, she was carrying his blood and it wouldn’t take time for him to soften his heart. No one said anything and the four left for the hospital in the car.
At the hospital, Dr. Skyler was surprised and happy to see Elissa and her family but the moment she noticed her red and lifeless eyes, she wasn’t happy anymore. They came inside her cabin and demanded her abortion. Dr. Skyler was shocked at the request but didn’t dare ask anything. “The sooner, the better,” Hera added at last. Skyler frowned at the indifference of the members. “A-alright. I will arrange for the operation. Except for Elissa, you all are requested to go out.” Once they all left, Skyler came beside Elissa and asked, “What happened, Elissa?” She could see Elissa was trying to control her tears and kept her head lowered. “Dear, you can tell me. If they are forcing you or anything, please tell me.” Elissa grabbed her hand tightly and told her briefly about what happened. “I want to keep the baby. Please, please doctor helps me.” Dr. Skyler’s heart clenched in pain knowing about her situation. “Please, I don’t want to abort my child. Help me, doctor” Elissa begged her.
Skyler Jefferson lived in a medium apartment on the eastern coast of A city. She lived there alone. Her mother would always nag her to get herself a boyfriend but there hasn’t been any man that pleased her eyes, at least not romantically. It wasn’t that she was ugly appearance-wise, no she wasn’t. Skyler was beautiful, with shoulder-length honey brown hair, mesmerizing grey eyes, and hearty lips, she would easily get anyone, only that she wasn’t interested. When she bought Elissa to her apartment, she wasn’t sure how to take care of it. Elissa was disheartened, traumatized, and on top of that pregnant. She was afraid that her mental condition and stress would affect the baby. She lend her shoulder when Elissa poured her heart out all night. It made her cry as well. She had never experienced such a thing and she wished she never had to. Elissa was packing when Dr.Skyler opened the door. Elissa was startled at her arrival. Confused, Skyler asked, “Why are you packing, Elissa?” She put
Three years later, “Here are the documents you required, sir” Elissa kept the documents on the desk and waited for her boss’s command. Her boss was on the phone call and she thought she could come later but he asked her to wait. …I understand. I’ll be there soon.” Benjamin ended the call and turned his attention to Elissa with a smile. “Guess what?” “I am bad at guessing, you know that very well sir” Elissa replied assertively which made Benjamin chuckle. “We are going to city A” he revealed. Elissa almost choked on her saliva hearing the name of the city where she had lived before coming here to city B. Worried, Benjamin handed her a glass of water. She hastily drank the water and regained her composure. She couldn’t let him know about the horrible time she had over there. “Is everything alright?” he asked. Elissa nodded, lying that she was completely fine. “So what is the purpose of going there?” He leaned on the leather chair and with a smirk on his handsome square face, he
Elissa was hurrying to do her hair and makeup, in between muttering about Benjamin’s last-minute update about them going for dinner outside.Satisfied with her look, she exited the room carrying the clutch and went downstairs directly where Benjamin was waiting for her. Reaching down the building, her mouth formed in the shape of an O when she saw the Porsche car behind Benjamin.Benjamin was awestruck to see Elissa in that dress. Everything was simply perfect and the way she pouted her rosy lips and the widening of her brown orbs, made his heart flutter. He smiled and stretched his open palm forward for her to take.Placing her hand in his, she asked with amusement, “Your car?”“Hey, I am the CEO of the largest company at B, I do have some dignity” he joked making Elissa chuckle. He loved to see her smile and especially if he was the reason for that.“Shall we get going?”“After you” he opened the door for her and once she was comfortably seated in the car, he shut the car door and w
Hera paced around the living room back and forth, thinking in tension about the arrival of Elissa. She tried to call Carson but he wasn’t picking up her call. She hasn’t slept well the whole night. She was worried and anxious about the thought of Carson and Elissa getting back together. She couldn’t let that happen and so she asked one of her friend’s help to dig out where Elissa resided. It was a mere work of half an hour to find the location. Hera decided to meet Elissa and tell her to stay away from their lives.-Elissa was making herself a cup of jasmine tea when she heard the doorbell. Yawning, she went to open the door. She almost lost her footing when she the person she expected the very least. Hera stood in front of her with her eyes narrowed. Elissa sighed and kept her cool. She assumed she was here because of her encounter with Carson. Before Elissa could say anything, Hera snapped at her.“How dare you came back! Did you forget what happened three years ago?”Of course, sh
Hera forced Carson to take Amanda out for a dinner. He was not at all interested, not after the argument he had with Elissa this morning. However, he couldn’t say no to his mother and so went with Amanda to a random restaurant. But to his utter surprise, he saw Elissa smiling and talking with Benjamin. His eyebrows furrowed and he was suddenly very jealous. Amanda followed his gaze and saw Elissa. Her skin burnt at the sight of her. She thought with a grimace, ‘Why does she have to be everywhere?’Amanda didn’t want to eat here and most importantly did not want to let Carson meet Elissa. She was about to tell Carson that they should go somewhere else but he was already walking toward their table like an angry bull. Amanda gritted her teeth and cursed Elissa for ruining her night with Carson. She strode towards Carson and stood beside him. When her eyes met with Elissa’s, she threw darts at him. Benjamin warmly welcomed them to join upon Carson’s demand and having no other choice, Aman
Carson was doing his work on his laptop in his room when he heard a knock on the door. It was his mother. He asked her to come in. Hera came to talk to him about the engagement between Carson and Amanda. Carson kept his laptop aside and looked at his mother. “There’s something I need to talk to you about, son.”Hera wanted the two of them to get married soon. She wanted Amanda to be her daughter-in-law because of her identity as the mayor’s daughter. It would only benefit both the families and there would be no place for Elissa. “Carson, it's been months since the statement of the two of you getting engaged soon. When are you officially declaring her as your fiancée?”Carson was upset about the whole thing with Elissa that happened yesterday and he didn’t have the mood to talk about engagement. “I don’t want to talk about it now, Mom. I am going to the office” Carson said perfunctorily and took his jacket from the chair. Hera urged again but Carson was out of the room already. Hera le
Elissa let out a horrified shriek when a hand pulled her from her behind. "Shh, love it's me" Carson spoke in her ear, assuring her heart at ease. Elissa's heart was still racing. She turned to face and lightly smacked his arm. Carson laughed."I was scared" Elissa pouted and crossed her arms over her chest. She turned her face away from him and pretended to be mad. Carson smiled and pulled her closer to him from her waist. Elissa tried to keep a straight face but she couldn't help but smile at the way Carson's eyes gazed at her lovingly. He tilted her chin and leaned closer to give a soft kiss on her rosy lips. Elissa smiled and kissed him back. How could she be mad when he showered so much love on her?Pulling back, she asked, "You came early. Is your work over?" Carson pushed the strand of her hair behind her ear and nodded. "But I am still not done with mine," she said with a teasing smile.Carson gave a peck on her nose, making her heart flutter, and said, "I know. I will wait an
Elissa's heart was beating fast as she reached nearer to the Waverly building. She was feeling anxious because she would be confessing her feelings to Carson. Reaching the building, she took the elevator, going up the floor. On her way to the hallway, she met Lin who was surprised to see her but also glad she had come. They gave each other a nod, and Elissa went to Carson's office. She didn't care to knock and simply entered. Carson was on his laptop. Files and documents were all over the office. It was a mess. Elissa's chest rose and fell when she saw him in front of her.Elissa took steps towards him and stopped in front of the desk. Carson had no idea Elissa was here, but suddenly, he snapped his head up and saw her in front of him. It felt as if he was dreaming. When he wanted to see her the most, she was here. Was he hallucinating?“Eli?” he croaked, involuntarily rising from the chair. “Are you really here?”Elissa smiled wide, tears started to make her view hazy. She went to hi
“Elissa!”Elissa flinched, coming back to reality after hearing Benjamin's voice. “Yes?” she croaked, positioning herself correctly on the chair.“Are you alright? I called you twice” he said. Elissa nodded, saying she was fine but she wasn't. She was thinking about Carson. She was worried about the company situation. Although she did help him with the design, she still thought it wasn't enough. She had the urge to go and check if he was doing okay but she had been holding herself back. She knew how workaholic Carson was, and he wouldn't rest until and unless the work is over.“Anyways, we have a meeting at ten. You need to be present there as well” Benjamin added. As he was leaving, she asked him about Carson. “Have you heard about Waverlys Group and Co facing a tough time?”Benjamin's left brow rose in curiosity, wondering why she was asking him about it. “Well, yes. I do am aware.”“Is it bad? Will the company go down or what?” Benjamin was a bit surprised to see the desperate worr
“Mommy, where is Daddy? Why hasn't he come today?” Lia questioned the moment Elissa entered the apartment.“He didn't come?” she asked. “He must be busy with work, sweetheart. Don't worry, he will come some other day” Elissa tried to assure her daughter.“Will he leave us? Will he go to catch fish again?” Lia pouted, making a sad face.“No, of course not. He is only busy with work, love.”“Call him!” Lia demanded. Elissa didn't want to call Carson even if she too wanted to know if he was okay. Elissa refused, making an excuse that she shouldn't disturb Carson but Lia wasn't going to buy that.As they descended to the living room, Elissa gestured to her brother to handle Lia but he shrugged, saying, “She had asked me about for the whole day, eating my brain out. I think you should just ask that lad. Lia will calm down by then.”“Mommy, please! Call him!”“Alright, alright. I'll call him” she agreed at last. Taking out her phone from her purse, she dialed his number and waited for him t
Raymond House,“You are hurting me, Ben!” Georgina cried, trying to break free her wrist but Benjamin had grabbed her wrist tightly, dragging her with him inside of the house. He pushed her forward. “What the heck, Ben?” Georgina scowled, looking at him with questioning eyes.Harold and Diane came from upstairs when they heard the noises. “What is going on?” asked Harold, looking at Benjamin then at Georgina.“I told you Gina. Haven't I? If you dare pull and tricks again, I will never forgive you. I have warned you, haven't I?” Benjamin glared at her. He looked scary for the first time since Georgina had been with him.She gulped, flinching by his words. “You lied to me, Gina! Not only to me but also my parents!”“What lie?” asked Harold.“She is not pregnant! She was never pregnant, Dad.”Harold's and Diane's faces formed in the shape of an O. This was shocking. Georgina panicked. Everything was going to end. What should she do? She thought to herself. She knew she couldn't deny it b
Elissa watched Carson play with Lia. She had wondered if he would be a loving father when they were planning for a baby, and it made her smile that he actually loves Lia more than she thought.Elissa also wondered why he hadn't come to her apartment for three days. He always popped in her apartment with a stupid smile but when he didn't came the past three days, she thought that he might have given up or that something might have happened back in home or the company. Her daughter kept on asking about Carson all day but she doesn't even know why he didn't came. She resisted calling him. She didn't want to show she wanted him there, that she cared about his presence.Elissa didn't realize that Carson was looking at her as well, a smile playing on his lips. She blushed and averted her gaze towards somewhere. There was a problem with Benjamin going on as well, and she had assumed it was most likely Georgina.“Hi” Carson breathed in her ear, making her jump on her place. Seeing her horrifi
When Elissa went to notify Benjamin about her work, she noticed he was tense. His forehead was creased and he was in deep thought that he didn't realise she had come in. “Excuse me, sir.”Benjamin blinked, coming back to reality. “Oh, yes, well, what were you saying?” he asked, turning on his laptop.Elissa gave him the pen drive in which her presentation was saved. “The work is done. If you can check it and let me know if there are any flaws, I will correct it before tomorrow.”“Yes, sure. I'll let you know in an hour” he said, his eyes narrowed at the laptop screen.Elissa was telling herself that she should mind her own business, but she couldn't stop her mouth. “Is everything alright, sir?” she blurted.Benjamin looked at her and she saw something was bothering him. He was fighting whether he should tell her anything or not. “Some personal issues. Nothing serious” he assured her with a tight smile. Elissa knew he had lied but she did not press more. She took her leave, closing the
It was yet another normal day. Elissa was doing her work assigned to her inside her office when she got the call from Benjamin to bring her the file he needed. She grabbed the file she had kept on the file holder, and went to his room, passing the workplace.Just as she was passing by, she saw Georgina along with a woman who Elissa thought was in her mid forties entered from the elevator. Georgina met Elissa's eyes and they still harbored hatred for her.Elissa and Georgina were both going to the same room, which made it awkward. “Why are you going there?” Georgina asked in a rude way.“Sir has asked for this file so i am just going to give him that” Elissa said politely.“What's your name, miss?” asked the woman with a tight smile which Elissa knew was fake.“Elissa Williams.”Realization drawn upon that woman's face as if she knew who Elissa but was meeting her for the first time. “I am Georgina's mother,” she introduced herself. “Brittany.” Elissa had assumed that must be the case
Raymond Company,Elissa was nervous as she walked inside the Raymond company building. She felt as if it was her first day. It sure was. She was overthinking about encountering Georgina again. She doesn't want any rivalry. Yesterday, she gave her answer to Benjamin about joining back again, and he was elated. She hasn't told this to Carson, because why should she? She wasn't answerable to him in any sort of way. When she entered the workspace, all the employees had their eyes on her. Elissa felt awkward and smiled at them tightly. She made her way towards the CEO room, knocking on the door first before entering. When Benjamin had said to come in, she pushed the open inside and went in. Benjamin's eyes beamed instantly when he saw her. He smiled, “Good morning, Elissa! Welcome!”Elissa smiled tightly. “Thank you.”Benjamin was about to say something when the door burst open and Georgina came in. Her eyes narrowed when she saw Elissa. “How dare you come here again?” she scowled.Elissa
After Lia's surgery, Carson was visiting her more and more. Elissa was annoyed but at the same time she was happy to see her daughter glowing.“Look, I have you the permission to see her, but that does not mean you will come to live here” Elissa said. He was playing with Lia in the small living room and Elissa had asked him to follow her to the kitchen leaving Lia with Jonathan who was as annoyed as her.“You don't like me here?” the question made her gape. Was she not clear enough that day?“Yes, I don't, Carson. I don't think you should give Lia hopes that you will always be here, taking care of her and all. There is no chance–”“I was not bluffing about what I said on that day. I meant every word. I will always take care of both of you. Even if you don't like me - which is a lie - I am not letting go of my daughter or you. I have made that mistake before, I don't want to again.”Elissa knew she couldn't agree with him about this, so let it go and sighed. “Fine. Whatever. Buf you ar
