Restaurant.
Lennox scanned the menu but nothing caught his gaze, Vince waited patiently as the server fidgeted beside them. Lennox motioned the server closer, pointing at what he wanted. The server left, grateful to be out of their presence."You're making everyone uncomfortable with your scowling. Stop ruining a dinner we haven't even started yet"."I'm not scowling, I'm just tense today".A small grin tugged on Vince's lips. "Why? Did you fight with your girlfriend or what". Lennox flinched, his gaze fixed on the champagne flute, and jaws clenched. "I think I should leave, I don't have an appetite anymore" he got out, proceeding to stand before Vince reached out to stop him. Lennox remained seated, watching Vince's features tighten as he got serious, his fingers that were clad with expensive diamond rings running through his hair in frustration."It's been six years Lennox, I thought you'd be better now, haven't you moved onHe did leave his door open when he was not in the office. Sophia smiled, entering his office with a bag filled with the items that she had gotten to add more color to the office. The space of the room never ceased to amaze her, and the view from the window was spectacular, if only he left the shades up. He had a closet beside his desk which was insanely cool, the sliding door was decorated with a dark leafy pattern. Sophia couldn't resist getting a peak. She pushed the door open, taking stock of the neatly arranged shirts, suits, shoes, and other accessories. He should move into his office, cause I don't see why he has a house anymore. She shrugged the thought off, bringing out a disposable smoothie cup filled with strawberry smoothie_just because she wanted to piss him off, but make him happy at the same time, she arranged his files, dusted the furniture then placed the small flower pot with a cactus on his desk. Why a cactus? Because he was a prickly ba... Sophia stopped herself
BOARD ROOM.Lennox was in a sour mood, hence why he found the littlest reason to lash out at any discrepancies that cropped up in his manager's report. It didn't sit well with him that he had been genuinely happy for a moment when he deserved to be sad all the time, he also didn't like the low-profit margin he was seeing in their monthly report."You're telling me this is all we have so far, no increase at all this month" he directed at Jonathan."Sir Lennox, this year, I mean to say that the midyear sales are usually this low, because of the heat, people don't feel the need to explore, travel or try new things, they prefer to stay home where it's more comfortable, hence why they don't patronize our business". Jonathan replied, looking to the others for support."Are you going to give me such a cheap excuse, because of all the things I expected, it was not that. People don't want to buy our items?" He scoffed, his hard gaze cutting at Jonathan. "Need I remi
Lennox stepped into his office, stopping in his tracks as he noticed that everything had been cleaned and arranged. A strawberry smoothie graced the center of his, with an energy bar. The review of the financial reports was placed neatly on his desk, she had highlighted all the important details making it a lot easier. He looked around for the phone he had smashed, searching the waste bin but coming up with nothing. He stepped towards his desk, picking up the paper underneath the smoothie.Dear sir.Don't worry about the phone, I already got a new one. The smoothie is to make your day brighter and enjoy the additional snack. I already reviewed the report, so that's cleared off your schedule for today. Have a nice day sir Lennox Ray".Your assistant.Lennox read and read it again, remembering the day before, how he'd shouted at her and smashed her phone. He felt horrible, even tho he'd been at breaking point, his head on the verge of exploding, he shouldn't have taken his anger out on
Andria's Apartment."Let's face it you all, we are stuck with bossy jerks, gosh, damn it all". Bianca said, wriggling her legs under the sheets which covered the four of them. A large bowl of sweets and chocolate took the center space.Sophia stuffed her mouth, chewing as she spoke. "Yeah, Len just pisses me off every second of the day. I mean I am being extremely nice to him and he didn't even have the courtesy of saying sorry, it's a freaking nightmare".Sana tugged at her hair. "Oliver wants me to get him a freaking girlfriend, or else he's going to get me fired, by not taking the competition seriously, you'd think he might value his work even just a little bit, but he doesn't, what can I do girls".They all listened to her whine, before Sophia flopped back, looking at the ceiling."You'll have to get him a girlfriend then".Bianca shook her head, pulling Sophia into a seating position."Hell no, don't do it, Sana, you know how Oliver breaks up with his girlfriend, he's so heartles
Lennox ran his fingers through his hair, messing up his hard labor of making it slick and straight. He hadn't been sleeping well, not when thoughts of what his new assistant would be up to the next day plagued his mind like a virus. He'd come to anticipate a surprise whenever he stepped into his office, so he was shocked when he saw his empty desk.Did she quit already? Was it because I didn't apologize for her phone?. He questioned himself, ruining his hair further in frustration. He didn't want to care, wasn't this what he wanted, her leaving because she couldn't take it anymore. It was, but he felt awful. He almost sighed in relief when the door opened and she stepped in with her blinding wide smile, her eyes shining at him. He found it hard to breathe for a second. "Good morning sir Lennox, you must have been surprised because I didn't come in earlier right?" She asked excitedly, as she waited for him to answer."I wasn't waiting for you," he said, avoiding her gaze, he tried not
Oliver's thighs bounded excitedly as he sat waiting, he couldn't quite believe how fast it was that his assistant managed to get him a girlfriend, he just hoped she wouldn't be as boring as the last one."What's taking her so long, I don't like to be kept waiting, or is she planning to bail on me," he said gasping. No one ghosted Oliver Leo, this was unacceptable, he thought as his gaze darted to the door. He checked his watch, an hour had passed. He glanced up from his watch as he heard footsteps approaching his table, then froze as time seemed to come to stop.Beautiful... Red heals a white dress that made her look like an angel, a silver necklace that rested on her smooth pale neck, almost like a caress, sleek blond wavy curls, and the face of his assistant Sana.He jerked, leaping from his seat in surprise. "Sana, what are you doing here, and you look different, are you meeting someone," he asked, looking around at the few people that occupied the restaurant.Sana smiled, then st
Here we go again, Sophia thought as she ran after Lennox to tell him his next schedule even after countless times he'd told her not to. Lennox approached the elevator, Sophia caught up with him, then pressed the elevator open button for him to get inside. Sophia turned to go take the stair but the warm hand wrapping around her wrist had her breath hitching, as she whirled to face him before her gaze dropped to where his hands held her. He seemed to realize the contact and he jerked his hand to his side, avoiding her gaze as he cleared his throat."You can ride the elevator with me" he stated and Sophia almost threw a fist in the air after getting over her initial surprise. She stepped in, glancing at him from the corner of her eyes as the elevator closed. Sophia pressed against the wall as the elevator suddenly became too small to house the man who seemed to suck in all the space around him, she felt as if there was something about him that tugged at her, pushing her to want to get c
Sophia gasped tumbling back on her ass as Lennox's eyes blinked open. In a moment of sheer panic, she crawled towards the side of the bed, lying low and wishing that the floor would swallow her, or at the least merge with her.Lennox squinted drowsily, his eyes drifting around the room before he flopped back on the bed in exhaustion."You won't let me have even a peaceful sleep, will you" he muttered, messing up his hair as he got comfortable.Sophia held her breath, staying still even when it felt like her heart was about to burst out of her chest. She berated herself for keeping the camera flash on without even realizing it. What if he decided to use the restroom, he'd have to put his feet over the side of the bed, the same side she was on. Sophia shook her head, as she started crawling towards the door, she was almost there when her leg hit the table where an array of beautiful vases was displayed, she stared wide-eyed as one of the vases tethered, then fell over with a loud crash a
*****Lennox smiled as he got the door for Sophia who rolled her eyes at him."Careful" he added, once she stepped out of the car and Sophia groaned, her lips forming a pretty pout."Gosh, people would think I got slashed on my leg and not my wrist" she complained and Lennox pulled her closer."I'm going to spoil and pamper you whether you like it or not. If it were up to me, trust me you won't be walking anywhere" he said and Sophia smiled even tho she was trying to frown at him."What are you going to do, carry me everywhere," she asked, her eyes dancing with amusement."Yes!" He answered promptly and she laughed, the sight and sound of it a balm to his heart that hadn't stopped racing in panic from the time he'd rushed in to see her bleeding out to death."Hey!" She called, touching his cheek and he gazed at her, watching her smile. "Stop thinking about the bad stuff. I'm here, with you and I'm not going anywhere"."You swear it," he asked, smiling and relaxing."Cross my heart and
Sophia gasped awake, her gaze hazy as she desperately tried to fight Jenny off only to realize that no one was trying to kill her. Sophia winced as she twitched her wrist then groaned low in her throat as she forced the fogginess that clouded her eyes to dissipate. The faces of her friends met her clear vision and she flinched again."Jesus! You three really need a lesson on personal space" she got out in a raspy voice and her friends exhaled, the worry disappearing from their gaze as they laughed."You scared the crap out of us girl. We thought you'd gone into the light and was done with us humans on this other side" Bianca said and Sana groaned."You're going to just blurt that out just some minutes after she opened her eyes"."Stop being so serious, I was just kidding" Bianca defended and Sana's hackles raised further."You both, I'm fine. I think it's too early for you two to be arguing over my ass when I don't even have the energy to play the devil's advocate" Sophia said with a
The first slash of the blade through Sophia's wrists had her head reeling in pain and she could barely get a chance to scream out her horror, when Jenny dove in with the blade again, the cut so swift and deep that it tore through the zip ties that held her in place and she watched helplessly as her blood spurt out, casting streaks across Jenny's face and soaking her front dress.Jenny pulled back sharply as the door flew and Lennox stood there, breathing hard and clutching at his rib, his eyes scanning the room until they rested on Sophia. His eyes widened in horror as they settled on her slashed wrists, then they swiftly came back to her face. He made to move towards her but Jenny rushed around Sophia, and pressed the knife to her throat, the action alone freezing Lennox in place as he glanced from Jenny to Sophia's and then back to Jenny."Don't take a step closer Lennox." She got out and pressed the knife harder against her throat when Lennox took a step forward. Sophia didn't kno
Sophia gasped awake as cold freezing water connected with her face making her jerk in her bonds before she even noticed that she was tied up to a chair. On impulse, she tried to loosen the ropes as she shook the water out of her bleary eyes, her eyes seeking for the person behind the assault.Sharp fingers suddenly bit into her chin as she was grabbed and forced to gaze up into the crazed eyes of Jenny who was smiling smugly as she inspected her handiwork."I quite love this shocked look on your face Sophia, you have no idea how much it pleases me that you look so helpless right now" she drawled out, turning her chin from side to side before shoving her head back abruptly.Sophia glared, hating the woman with every fiber of her being. "What are you trying to do? You won't get away with this".Jenny was in her face in a heartbeat. "Is that what you think pretty face because that's exactly what is going to happen. I warned you to stay away from Lennox but you thought I was just some cli
Lennox winced as he tried to open his eyes. His head felt it was splitting in on itself but he didn't care about it as he forced his eyes open and glanced around the room, his eyes searching for Sophia as his gut clenched in a surge of panic, his heart beating erratically against his chest in fear.Lennox pushed himself off the bed and tumbled to the floor, wincing as the injection attached to his vein got yanked out. He groaned as the room darkened and spun around him.Hands clutched around his waist and someone was lifting him until he was laying on the bed but he refused to lay down, he couldn't give up, not when he had not seen Sophia yet so he shoved at the person blindly and the individual let go of him and stepped back. Lennox took in a deep breath and calmed down enough for his vision to clear.Lennox stared at the man in the room, recognizing him as one of his father's bodyguards. The door opened and his parents walked in."Where is Sophia?" He asked, his throat raw and his v
Markus pulled Lennox out of the car, grimacing when he saw that he'd hurt him more than he'd intended. Jenny rushed to his side, her skin sickly pale as she stared at Lennox."Oh my gosh, you fucking killed him" she cried as she tried to get a reading on his pulse."He's not dead, he's just unconscious right now and I'll take care of it if you stop fussing over him for just a second" Markus gritted, hating that Jenny was interfering with his job. Jenny glared at him, the veins on her neck bulging in her anger. "Don't fucking tell me what to do. The plan was to kill her and not Lennox"."Will you shut your fucking yapping! The paparazzi could be here any minute so get your behind moving" he shouted and Jenny flinched as he pulled her away from Lennox. "Now go and make sure that the girl is still breathing".Jenny glared at him but did as she was told then frowned when she noticed that Sophia was still breathing, even tho the blood that was streaming down her face almost made her conc
"I saw the news just now and I'm just going to tell you not to read the nasty stuff they're writing, cause those people are just a bunch of crazy, jealous low life nobodies who are angry that you got such a hot guy like that when they couldn't," Vivienne said and Sophia laughed, smacking her hands against her face."That is like a lot of insult Mom, and I'm so happy that it's because of me.""Of course! You're my girl. If I was there, I'd have sued every one of them for defamation of character." She told, her gaze serious. "I'm sure you would have, that is if you didn't stab them in their faces first"."I've always had a very nasty temper" she agreed laughing then her gaze softened. "Are you alright dear. I know Lennox is handling everything but are you doing ok".Sophia nodded quickly. "More than ok. I'm really happy"."And that's all that matters. I'd have rushed down immediately this madness started but there's been some problem at the airport"."Mom you don't need to come... Just
Lennox watched as Sophia paced around In his Mansion after he'd explained everything that happened to her. He hated seeing her agitated and witnessing how she'd almost gotten hurt because of him made his heart squeeze. If he'd gotten there any later than he had... He didn't dare think of what might have happened because it made him see red. His parents were another problem and the threat his father had made kept messing with his head every time he glanced at Sophia. Would it be better if he just... He groaned in pain, hating the very thought of letting Sophia go. He couldn't do it. No matter what happened, he needed to fight, fight for her even if it cost him his life.Soft hands grazed his cheek and he flinched, his gaze refocusing on the present and the breathtaking woman who stood in front of him."I'm here Lennox, so you should stop worrying. Everything is going to be alright. I mean once I work my charms on your parents, they'll be on your throat to marry me" she joked, attemp
Sophia stared through the window at the people walking around the front of her house, her brows creasing as she tried to place them. Her neighborhood never had that much traffic, and people didn't just Invade other people's space just for the heck of it, especially since it was still too early, so who were they and why were they holding gadgets. The shrill sound of her phone had her jerking back in shock."I seriously need to change that ringtone, my God!" She muttered to herself as she picked up the phone and answered the call. "This better be important Bianca"."Oh, it's fucking important alright. I know y'all were keeping your relationship low profile but you both just got outed big time and the reporters are swarming everywhere.""What?!" Sophia sputtered, then looked closely at the people moving around In front of her house and what they were holding were definitely cameras.Sophia frowned, her brains firing in different directions. "Hello, are you still there. Sophia" Bianca s
