Charlotte's POV

As if kissing him in my presence wasn't enough, she even cupped his face with both of her hands.

I couldn't tell how I felt; my heart broke. It isn't as though I was in love with Alex, so why was I feeling this way? Have I been deceiving myself all this while that I wasn't in love with him? Could this feeling of betrayal that washed over me still be because of the marking? Then screw this mark I have on me, because I hate this feeling.

I watched as Alex stared down at her without saying anything, and I could only imagine one thing as his thoughts, the perfect lady to be his Luna.

I scoffed, and I guess I interrupted their moment because their heads snapped to where I was. I was quick to turn away from them, but I came face to face with Leo, who I guess has been standing behind me all this while.

I walked away from him and began heading out of the door, but a hand suddenly held my hand from behind.

I was pulled back, and just then I met their eyes, which were watching m

Charlotte's POVI groaned as the sound of the ECG machine kept ringing in my head, as if forcing me out of unconsciousness.I slowly fluttered my eyes open, but they immediately flew closed due to the sunlight that had almost blinded me.I turned in another direction, picked up a cushion, and covered myself with it, wanting to go back to sleep since my attempt to wake up was interrupted.I felt a presence behind me, which was followed by someone turning me back to the position I was in.I squinted my eyes but didn't open them, fearing that the sunlight might blind me this time.I couldn't even perceive the scent of whoever was behind me, and I wondered if the person didn't have a scent."It's okay now, you can open your eyes," I heard someone say, and their voice was also distant.I slowly fluttered my eyes open again, and this time I wasn't blinded by the sunlight. It seems they've pulled down the curtains to help me see.I couldn't see properly; I only saw the figure of a man who wa

Charlotte's POV"I don't feel like a she-wolf; I feel like my wolf is no more, and I've been hit by a truck," I muttered, my voice muffled by his chest as I stared down at my palm. I tried growing my claws out, but it felt like I was doing something funny because I couldn't grow my claws any longer. Tears ran down my face, and I sniffed as I stared down at my hand, but he pulled me back to his chest."Everything will be okay," he whispered, while I was quietly sobbing for myself. I don't know what had happened to me; all I knew was that my wolf was absent. He chuckled softly, his chest vibrating beneath me, before he lifted me into his arms and carried me to the bed and sat me on it. I kept staring at my hand silently. He had carried me like I was a weightless doll. I might pass out if I see myself in the mirror. Because of how weak my whole body felt, I knew I had emaciated. His hand wiped away the tears settling underneath my chin before he used his finger to raise up my face."Yo

The doctor tried to do what he could, but she had already slipped into a coma again. I doubt she stayed awake for an hour before she fell asleep again.I was watching through the CCTV camera in her room and noticed how she had been staring weirdly at the doctor.I ran out of the room when she began convulsing, only to be met with a heartbreaking sight. She was struggling, I knew, but given how weak she was, she couldn't conquer it, and I couldn't help either.Once again, I almost lost my mate for the second time.I bear the guilt of everything. Twenty thousand men, women, and children fell that day, all the people of the All Brown Pack. Not one member was able to survive," he read from the screen of his computer."Hmmm," I grumbled in thought, "What's the name of their Alpha?""Alpha Michael," he replied, and I slowly nodded. I was now catching up."Shit!" I slammed my hands on the table with a loud thud when I finally remembered the pack.I gripped my head in frustration, angrily standing up from the chair."Take it easy, man–""Don't ever say that to me!" I growled at him before striding to the window to get some fresh air."Out of every pack, why would that be her pack!? I've been curious to know her pack, but why that pack? Why couldn't she come from another pack?" I questioned in frustration. My head was throbbing. This just added to the problem I had to solve."She doesn't seem to
