My grandmother.

She looked so kind and caring, but I also had so many questions.

Like why now?

After all these years, why come and find me now? How did she know I was here? This was so messed up for me. My whole mind was about to burst with unprocessed information.

“Come on now, let’s go for a walk. We can talk.” She said, and I looked to Alex for assurance. He gave me a nod and took my hand. We went out to the main grounds, where it was peaceful, there were not many others around, and Alex led us to a small patioed area with deck chairs and a table with an umbrella to shield us from the burning sunshine.

The birds chirping away in the treetops and the distant sound of children playing in the play area made me smile.

“Let me start by saying I am sorry for the sudden intrusion. My name is Ethel. You are my granddaughter; my daughter is your mother. Many years ago now, you were just a baby, and you were taken from us.” She started to say.

Alex’s POV I left Victoria with Ethel and asked Helen to monitor them closely. I had to make an important phone call and did not want to be disturbed unless it were an emergency. The fact that Victoria's grandmother had come onto the scene changed everything. I was devastated for my mate that she had gone through so much. Did it bother me that she had witch blood pumping through her veins? Not. I loved her with every ounce of my body. One day very soon, she would be my Luna and carry my pups. Picking up the phone, I rang Edward, one of the elders and informed him of my problem. I would not allow that pack to go on and get away with treating their members so ill. I could not imagine myself running such a poor pack and treating any one of them in that disgusting way. To say that Edward was not happy was an understatement. He shared the same disappointment as me. No way would I allow Eliza to become my Luna, especially no

I was still processing everything in my mind when I got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around my wet body. I then wrapped a towel around my wet hair and stared at my reflection in the mirror. I felt so lucky that I was no longer at that horrible pack house chasing after everyone else’s wants and needs—no more cleaning and worrying about when I would next get a meal or a beating. Alex was the most fantastic mate that I could ever want. He was my best friend growing up, and I hated when he was taken from me, but I thanked the moon goddess that he had come back to me and saved my life. The thought of him being paired with Eliza as chosen mates made me want to throw up; she did not deserve him. He was mine. The fact that my grandmother had appeared out of nowhere and I was being told all these things about my past made me full of many questions. Those that I had believed to be my parents? Who were they? Had they been the ones w

To say I was furious was an understatement. How dare this filthy she-wolf appear on my territory and try to belittle my Luna. Victoria was worth a million of her. Did this Eliza genuinely believe I could love her and reject my mate? Her father tried to sell her off to me; he was as foolish and disgusting as his daughter. “He was with me the other night.” Eliza suddenly screamed with a giant smirk on her stupid face. Everyone fell silent. I looked from Eliza to Victoria. The way she looked at me made my wolf whimper with such pain. There was no way that she could believe that crap. “What?” I heard Victoria whisper, her voice shaky and weak. “Victoria, please calm down. She is nothing. She is a liar.” I gasped when I saw her beautiful eyes flash amber and then black, her skin turned pale white, and she waved her arms around her, chanting some words like she spoke a different language. I turned to Ethel help

Victoria’s POV I woke up in bed wondering how I got there. I did not recall anything. My mind was just like a blank canvas. The door was knocked, causing me to jump out of my skin. “Good morning, beautiful Victoria. How are you doing?” Alex. I laid back in the bed and felt my body at ease as I realised it was him. He made me feel safe. I liked to be around him. “What happened?” I frowned as he came over and gently touched my forehead. I felt nothing but realised a plaster was across my head. “You fainted, and your head hit the ground. The doctor said that you were going to be just fine. Victoria, do you recall the conversation beforehand?” He rested his eyes on me and pursed his lips together, waiting for me to respond. I shook my head and shrugged my shoulders. “No, I don’t remember?” I sighed, wishing that I could remember whatever it was that he was talking to me about. “Ok, let me explain.” He took my hands in his an

Alex’s POV I hated that Eliza had been on my land and dared to frighten my mate, my Luna. Who did she think that she was? Did she believe that I would choose her over my fated mate? Stupid fool. Now she had escaped with the help of some joke within my pack. She would be sorry; they all would. That was a promise. How dare anyone treat me like a fool and go behind my back like that. Once my men had found her, she would deal with me. Eliza would never be Luna material. I would die for my mate and my pack. She was nothing to me, just a crazy whore. “Ethel, what do you suggest?” I asked my mate's grandmother as we entered my office and sat down to discuss things while Victoria rested upstairs. I had my beta go and check on her regularly; I liked to ensure that she was ok. Well, I..” Ethel started to say, but my mind was suddenly elsewhere. “Alpha, Victoria is not in the bedroom, and her clothes are gone.” My beta came through the mind link to

Victoria’s POV I woke up with a start and realised I was surrounded by darkness, reaching for the lamp on my bedside table. I was shocked to find it not there and toppled out of bed, causing a harsh growl from the other side. Alex? It did not sound like him, and it certainly did not smell like him. Panic began to set in, and my mouth went dry as a desert. Where was I? I hoped and prayed that I was not back in that horrible pack house that Alex had rescued me from. He was my mate. My hero. “Get back into that bed.” I heard an unfamiliar voice demanding of me and then footsteps as he exited the bed and came to my side. I was still lying on the floor, trying to understand what was happening to me. Then I felt two big strong arms pulling me up, and I was thrown back onto the bed as tears started to brim up in my eyes. I had no idea who this was and why I was there. Alex was

Victoria. I feel sick. How could these crazy lunatics think I would be so good for them? I mean, I don't even know them, but not only that, I'm far too young to be carrying a pup for myself, let alone anyone else. The only pup I would be carrying is that of mine and my mates in the future. I look around the room and wonder if I can squeeze out from the little window. I don't have much time before Daryl or even Stacey returns to check on me. I have quietly thrown my legs over the edge of the bed. I managed to get up. Nervously walking over to the window, I see a balcony. My heart is beating like crazy in my chest, and I feel the urge to get out and run as fast as I can, never come back. I need to find my way back home, back to my mate, my Alex. I was trying hard not to scream as I felt myself falling off. I would hit that ground, knowing it would hurt like hell. Shut my eyes tight and wait. Slowly, I opened my eyes. I looked around and notic

Eliza’s POV That stupid grandmother of Victoria. Meddling old bag. She had to poke her nose in and try and destroy my plans; nope, I was not going to allow that to happen. Who did she think that she was? Well, I would soon get her out of the way forever. Luckily my good friends had helped me to trick the silly out bat, and now she was temporarily out of the way. My friend Shane knew some crazy wizards who would do anything for a bit of money. Silly fools. I was not quite sure what I would do with her yet, but for now, she was not a problem. Suppose it wasn’t for her getting in the way. None of this crap would’ve happened. She is the one to blame, after all. Alex just needed to be reminded that I was his better choice. Not some scabby lower-than-low tramp like Victoria. What could she possibly offer someone? She was nothing, whereas I was perfect. With my looks, my high rank of being the daughter of an influential and well-

Victoria’s POV I heard a gentle tap on my door and immediately knew who it was. I smiled to myself, feeling excited to see Alex. As I opened the door, I was greeted by his charming grin. He looked dashing in his suit and tie, with his hair perfectly slicked back. I couldn't help but stare at him, captivated by his appearance. My grandmother had hinted that something special was in store for me, and I had been given a stunning red dress that hugged my curves and fell elegantly to my knees. “Victoria, would you like to accompany me for a meal?” He asked, and I nodded eagerly. “Of course, Alpha Alex.” I took his arm, and we went down the stairs and out of the pack house. As Alex and I made our way to the car, I could feel my heart racing with anticipation. I had no idea where we were going, but I knew it would be something special. I glanced over at Alex, who was beaming with excitement. He took my hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze, and I felt a wave

Alex’s POV It has been two days since I took out that alpha. Two days of bliss, and I had never seen my mate so relaxed and happy. He was gone from our lives, and nobody and nothing would come between us again. Cleaning up the aftermath had been horrifying, but the pack was already beginning to look like it had before. I had unfortunately lost a fair few of my warriors in that attack, but it made the rest of them even more on high alert. It would not be easy, but this pack would keep their heads high. Victoria and I were strong, and our pack would be rebuilt. We would be more assertive and ready to take on anyone who dared to cross us. Victoria’s grandmother, Ethel, decided to stay a while at the pack, which was more than fine by me. It was lovely to have her here. She was helping me to do a few things to surprise Victoria. Zane had gone back to the coven since his grandfather had decided to leave. Victoria had no idea that today would be her pr

Victoria’s POV As I approached the pack house, I was shocked by the state of it. The outside was just as bad as the inside, and it was clear that we had a lot of work to do to bring it back up again. But I knew that we could do it. We were a strong pack, and nothing was going to stop us. Alex was a significant alpha, and I felt so proud of him. Despite everything that had happened since we found each other again, he was still strong. I loved him so much, and I was determined that we would never be separated again. My grandmother stood beside me, looking so sad at the state of the pack house. I knew that we had to put things directly, but when I saw Alpha Evan looking back at me, I froze on the spot. I felt like the worthless little omega that I had grown up believing that I was. "Oh, hello again, Victoria!" he chuckled, making me feel sick to the pit of my stomach. "Lovely to see you again," he added sarcastically. Alex growled, clenching his fists into

Alex’s pov Even though I feel pretty weak right now, I won't give up. I know that I need to find Victoria and keep her safe. I asked Zane to take her to safety, but now that I can smell her scent, I'm unsure why she's back. Maybe she didn't want to leave me alone. Perhaps she wants to help me fight. I'm not sure, but I'm determined to find her and keep her safe. I'm being cautious as I move through the area. I don't want to be caught off guard by anyone who might be waiting to attack me. I'm using all my senses to stay alert and aware of my surroundings. I'm listening for any sounds that might indicate danger, and I'm watching for any movement that might suggest someone is nearby. Despite my injuries, I'm still the Alpha of my pack, and it's my job to keep everyone safe. I won't let anyone hurt Victoria, no matter what. I can feel my strength returning as I get closer to her, and I know I'll be able to protect her no matter what. My Wolf was stirring, sensing tha

Victoria’s POV Something inside me suddenly snapped, and I do not know what it was, but it was as if I had finally woken up. “Victoria, No!” He yelled. “Get lost; you are crazy,” I growled, finding this newfound strength and confidence to shove him away from me. Zane wobbled backwards, and I took that split second to turn and run. “Wait!” He shrilled angrily as he scrambled to get back up from the ground. I was not going to wait around for him. No chance! I knew fully that Zane wouldn’t let me go that easily, but I continued. I remembered the words and shouted them, closing my eyes and jumping into the air. Everything went black, and suddenly I was back. Back at the pack house. Everything was in ruins, blood splattered everywhere, and I was gobsmacked. Tears filled my eyes, and I could not bare to look anymore. What if Alex was amongst all these lifeless bodies? Eliza had caused all of th

Victoria’s POV Alex! I woke with a start and looked around me to find I was back at Zane’s. I could not be here. What I needed was to be with my mate. Alex. He needed me, and yet here I was. “Zane!” I yelled, throwing the covers off me and shouting for him. I was so mad that he had got me back here. I wanted to go back to the pack house. Nobody was around, and that made me even more annoyed. Where the hell was he, and where was everyone else? Suddenly I was pulled into a room and found myself face-to-face with Zane. He pushed me against the wall, and in a second, I felt his lips brush against mine. What was he doing? Zane! I pushed him away and screamed at him to leave me alone. What did he think he was doing? He knew full well that I had a mate already, and that was not going to be taken lightly. He was crazy. I did not feel anything for him in that way, and we were only friends, nothing more.

Victoria’s POV Zane gently put me down and shook his head. “I don’t understand why the portal isn’t opening. What’s going on?” He sighed helplessly and confused. I licked my lips and pushed my hair from my eyes, looking around and feeling glad we had lost those creeps. I would happily have kicked their asses into next week. Who thought they were to come and order any of us about and on another alpha's land? Daryl was insane. His mate was suitable to get away from him, even if it meant she died. I tried not to tear up at the thought of Stacey taking her last breath when she had just been trying to help me. “Victoria ?” I looked up, surprised. Zane was staring at me with his eyebrows raised. “Yes?” I mumbled. “Are you ok?” I nodded but avoided his gaze. I knew that we needed to get the hell out of here befriending Daryl came looking for me, but I didn’t want to leave Alex again either. “Alex wanted you out of the w

Victoria’s POV In a minute, the whole fire was put out, and I took a deep breath. Looking over my shoulder, I saw Zane gazing ahead at the pack house with his grandfather beside him. They were deep in conversation, and I knew it was them that had used a powerful spell to put the fire out. Alex came rushing out all red-faced. “Thank you. You saved my pack.” He rushed to Zane and Jacob and fell to his knees, thanking them repeatedly. “Maybe you will see that your prisoners are freed.” I felt sick as a horrible feeling washed right over me. Daryl. How did he get here, and who told him we were here? My eyes darted across to that wretched alpha and his poisonous Luna. It had to be one of them. “And who the hell are you to order around like that? I think that you will find that this here is my pack. I make the rules around here.” Alex leapt up and growled in the face of a smirking Daryl. He did not seem intimidated by Alex whatsoever. I h

Eliza wanted to sacrifice herself for her family. I was unsure if this was some trick, but she seemed emotional and upset. I wasn’t sure if she saw the wrong in her actions, but it seemed like a good start. “No, you will not do anything such thing.” Her father screamed furiously, rattling the chains bound him to the metal barrier. I realised that it was the wolfsbane preventing them from being able to shift into their wolves. I would have whipped their arses and ripped them into pieces limb by limb if Zane’s grandfather had not stepped in. This was my pack, my land and my life. I was not about to be taken for a fool. They were going to regret ever crossing me. “Let her speak.” Victoria touched my arm gently, sending bolts of electricity through me, and she smiled up at me with their big wide eyes of hers. Oh, how I had missed this girl. My beautiful mate. “I want to know what you have to say for yourself.” Victoria turned to Eliza and said.
