Chapter 3 Thaddeus

Thaddeus's POV

I stand outside the pack house, holding Noah as we wait for the caravan. I looks around, watching Xander and his warriors interact with some of the members that are slowly creeping out of their homes. Not everyone here is bad. But most of them are.

I can see some standing behind a tree while peeking out at us. I can tell they're curious, they know their Alpha is dead. They're trying to figure out whether we mean them harm or not... If we are here to save them, or their next nightmare.

But amongst those are also the ones that we're unsure of. Unsure which side they are on.

Are they good people? Were they just doing the job they were told to do because their Alpha told them to?

Or did they agree with what was going on and participate in all the horrible acts?

These are the warriors that we were fighting, The ones we didn't kill but surrendered.

They are the ones that are now walking around and smiling as they walk up to us, and thank us for killing the Alpha.

I watch Xander and my lead warriors try to feel them out. Trying to determine if they're good or bad.

After a few moments, I realize the little fella in my arms isn't trembling anymore nor is he whimpering.

I looked down but I couldn't see his face. So I reach in and pull his head up. His head was limp in my hands and his eyes were closed. My stomach dropped, I focused on him, listening to see if I could hear his heart beating. I let out a breath of relief when I heard it. For a moment, I thought the little guy didn't make it.

But it turns out he's just sleeping.

I brushed the hair back, out of his face as I look at the poor little kid in my arms. How could anyone do this to a child?

If I would have saw this kid first, I would have never killed the Alpha the way I did. I would have brought him back to my pack, and threw him in the dungeon then slowly kill him.

I look over and roll my eyes,

"Xander!... Knock it off!"

I yelled to my stupid Beta through the link. I watched him practically jump out of his skin before backing off and away from the warrior girl he was just hitting on.

He turns around, and faces me as he scratches the back of his head.

"What?... Can you blame me? Dude, She's freaking hot!"

"Xander, if you don't learn to keep that damn thing in your pants, I swear to goddess you're going to catch something!"

"No I won't and you know it! We're werewolves and STDs don't exist for us!"

This idiot said with a smirk on his face as he walked up to me.

"And only someone like you would be thankful for that! Stop dipping that stick in everything that smiles at you!"

"I don't dip it in everything that smiles at me!... I haven't dipped it in you and you've smiled at me a million times!

This idiot said causing me to let go of this little guy with my right hand so I could smack him upside his head.

"Ouch!" He said, whining as he rubbed his head.

"You're lucky I'm holding this little fella here or it would have been a lot worse!"

I felt relieved when I saw the row of vehicles coming up the drive.

Finally, we can get the hell out of this hell hole.

"Were you able to find anyone who's capable of holding this place down until an elder gets here?"

I asked Xander, who was supposed to be doing that job, not flirting with pact members.

"Yeah apparently that guy over there with the red hair has beta blood.

Although he never was one, and neither was his dad. But I figured it'll do until the elders get here."

Xander said, making me groan and roll my eyes.

Crap!... I thought as I looked at the person Xander just pointed out.

"Marcus and Zendaya, can you come here?"

I said through the link, moments later they both walk out of the pack house.

"I know you guys aren't going to like this, but I need you to to stay here and hold this place down until the elders get here.

Also if you could check around and see if those poor souls that are peeking around those trees over there want to come with us.

Not these idiots right here, the ones that are out there hiding and afraid to talk to us. Those are the ones I'm concerned about."

I watched Zendaya scan the tree lines, I watch her face soften as she starts to spot the scared faces peeking around the trees at us.

"I've got this alpha, I'll report back to you a little bit later."

She gave Marcus a peck before making her way toward the tree line.

She's the perfect person for this job. She's a fierce fighter, she ought to be since she's mated to my lead head warrior.

But she's also a very kind and gentle person with a huge heart.

I watched the line of SUVs pull up, my warriors began moving toward the cars with an omega in their arms. I look around and I'm floored at how many omegas there are. I've never seen so many in one location before.

There has to be over 20... That's a lot! And the sad thing is, they were all abused.

I know three of them have a good home, and once they overcome everything they went through, they'll be happy. The two who have found their mate from my pack,

And this little guy in my arms. I don't know why, but something inside me is pulling me to him. Something is telling me that I'm the one who has to take care of him.

Not that I think he's my mate, it's more.... Like he's family, like a little brother.

I've already decided that I'm the one who's going to take him in and care for him as if he was my own child.

I will fix this broken soul.

Noah is definitely a minor Omega that was severely abused.
