NORA’S POV

Genevieve’s mouth fell open, her eyes widening in disbelief. “What?” she whispered, the word barely leaving her lips.

Tears stung my eyes, and I wrapped my arms around my waist as if trying to hold myself together. “It’s Sam’s,” I repeated, my voice cracking. “I found out the day you took me to the hospital to see Daniel.”

The shock on Genevieve’s face shifted quickly into anger. Her hands clenched into fists at her sides, and she stepped closer, her voice rising. “And you didn’t think to tell me?”

I took a step back, feeling the pain of her accusation. “I didn’t know how to tell you,” I said, my voice quivering. “Sam and I had just divorced, Genevieve. I was scared, confused. I didn’t want to risk him finding out, not when everything was falling apart.”

Genevieve’s shoulders slumped, her anger giving way to raw emotion. Tears filled her eyes, and she covered her mouth with her hand. “Nora…” she choked out, her voice breaking.

The soft hum of machines and the distant chatter of nurses offered some comfort, but it also left me alone with my thoughts.I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, my body still aching from the surgery. The nurses had reassured me that Zoe was doing well, her breathing steady and strong. I turned toward the doorway, expecting a nurse, but instead, it was someone I hadn’t expected to see so soon.Charles.He hesitated in the doorway, his sandy hair falling messily over his forehead, his suit jacket slightly too large for his thin frame. His blue eyes—uncertain and conflicted—darted around the room before settling on Zoe’s bassinet.Nora stood from her chair, her protective instincts immediately kicking in as she moved slightly in front of Zoe. “Who are you?” she asked, her tone firm but puzzled.“Charles,” I said again, my voice drawing Nora’s startled gaze. “This is Jacob’s son.”Nora’s expression shifted from confusion to shock as she looked at him. “You’re… Jacob’s…”His voice cracked, and he glanced down at his shoes before looking back at Zoe. “I’m sorry for intruding,” he said quickly. “I just…I wanted to make sure she’s okay.”Genevieve turned sharply from the window, he

I had to know she was okay. The NICU doors came into view, and I barely slowed down as I pushed through them. My breath caught as I spotted Sam and Genevieve, both bent over Zoe’s incubator.Sam’s large hand rested on the side of the incubator, his shoulders relaxed, a soft smile tugging at his lips. Beside him, Genevieve—stoic, guarded Genevieve—was smiling too, her fingers delicately tracing circles on the glass as if she were drawing strength from the sight of Zoe’s tiny, fragile form.Relief washed over me, so powerful that my knees buckled. • No Longer Yours, Billionaire Ex-Husband   Chapter 131

SAM'S POV The boy who stepped into my office wasn’t what I’d imagined. He was young, maybe thirteen, with sandy hair that fell into his bright blue eyes, and he carried himself with a quiet kind of confidence. His features—especially the sharpness of his jawline—were unmistakably Bennett. For a moment, I felt as though I were looking at a ghost of the Jacob I once knew, the best friend who had stood by my side before greed and resentment tore us apart.“Charles,” I greeted, keeping my tone even.He hesitated just inside the doorway, then offered a faint smile. “You can call me Charlie,” he said, his voice soft but steady. “That’s what everyone calls me.”The name put me momentarily at ease, and I gestured to the chair in front of my desk. “Alright, Charlie. Have a seat.”He moved across the room with deliberate steps, his hands fidgeting at his sides as though he wasn’t entirely sure of his welcome. I waited until he settled into the chair before speaking again.“What brings you here
