"I- I am wearing gl-gloves." Cole barely manages to get out. Rambling: "It's only cards. Tuck assured me they were sterile. He even brought me this bed-tray, so nothing touched the sheets…"

Vincent looks at his patient in silence. Shifting his gaze to the cards, which were set on a firm bed table, and Cole was indeed wearing latex gloves too…

With a deep breath, Vincent set the food aside. "Alright…" He speaks softly, the crease between his brows slowly disappears as he nears. "Let me take that so you can have your meal."

Cole glanced one last time, then set the cards down. The doctor seemed calm… at least that's how he appeared.

"Leave the gloves too." Vincent points with his eyes, to which Cole understood and discarded them. She watched as Doctor Lance took the table and set it with the other items. The halls are eerily silent, save the sound of squeaking wheels. Cole peeks to her left where there are doors. Each one they pass has numbers. Cole memorized them. She knew each number identified a patient. Transparent glass allows a view inside each unit. Some patients sleep, while others pace restlessly within the 30x30 unit. Anxious to get out. Cole was familiar with that feeling. She turns her head away, just as a patient starts heaving. Instead, Cole occupies her thoughts with the view of the night.
