Chapter 12

Abigail's POV

After the whole drama, Logan eventually released me from his grasp when he became satisfied that I had eaten enough. I stood up from his lap, completely flustered and almost consumed by embarrassment.

In contrast to how I was feeling, Logan just picked up his phone and continued scrolling as if nothing had happened.

I walked away from where Logan sat and sat down on one of the other chairs surrounding the large dining area. Not so long after that, Mrs Johnson walked in and cleared the table.

An awkward silence filled the room and a few minutes after Mrs Johnson walked away, Logan rose up to his feet and it was at that point I took in his entire outfit.

He wore a crisp, black dress shirt, with the sleeves neatly rolled to his elbows, accentuating his strong arms. His black trousers were tailored to perfection, creating a sharp silhouette. He had a wristwatch around his wrist and his hair was neatly styled.

He walked towards me, keeping his eyes fixated on m

Chapter 13Logan's POVWe spent a total of one hour, thirty minutes at the hospital and that was only because of the special VIP access. At the end of the whole process, it was confirmed that Abigail is healthy enough to carry a baby. And I was overjoyed. There are a few things that happened during this hospital visit and a few things I intentionally said to get Abigail's reaction, and I was surprised when she just let some of them slide. Was she catching feelings for me?For the sake of her mental health, I really hoped she wasn't because all I am doing now is just a process to kick-start my plans.I knew this was the hospital her mother was admitted in. But I was quite surprised when she did not request to see her mother. Maybe the whole check up process stressed her out, poor little thing.I stared at Abigail, who sat at the passenger's seat for a split second. She was really pretty and apart from the fact that I needed her for more reasons than just being a surrogate, she still se

Chapter 14Abigail's POVIt had been almost two hours since Logan dropped me off and left. And he wasn't still back. The most annoying thing is that he never mentions where he is headed to. He might be my client, but since we were going to be staying together for a while I at least deserved to know a bit about what he does.I was wandering aimlessly in the hallway as I didn't have much to do and Logan had placed those strict guards around so I wouldn't try anything funny again.I don't know why he thinks I might want to run away from the villa. Running away wasn't even an option for me because I still really needed the money that would be gotten at the end of the contract period.A little bit of freedom is all I ask and crave for. My phone buzzed in my arm and I lifted my arm up to check the name on the caller ID. My heart skipped a bit, due to excitement, when I saw that it was Gigi calling. I picked it up immediately. “Hi babes!” Came Gigi's cheery voice from the other side of the

Chapter 15Abigail's POVI felt an unsettling feeling at the pit of my stomach as I made my way down the stairs and still didn't find anybody in sight. Who could have been eavesdropping? Or was I just hallucinating? Those were the questions I asked myself. After observing the environment for a few minutes and still not finding any trace of someone being around there, I went upstairs and entered the room. Making sure to shut the door behind me.I lay down on the bed and shut my eyes for a few minutes. I opened my eyes a few moments later to the sound of footsteps and the clicking sound of something. I sat up and spotted Logan typing on the desktop that was on the table.“When did you get back?” I asked groggily.Logan paused for a moment and turned to look at me then “not so long ago. You were fast asleep when I came in” I nodded, “hmm” Since he claimed to have just come in a few minutes ago, he couldn't have been the person eavesdropping on my conversation with Gigi. That left me

Chapter 16Logan’s POVAfter Abigail's previous outburst, she decided to stick to sulking and even giving me the silent treatment. I completely understood how she was feeling about the whole thing but there are just some certain measures that needed to be put into place to ensure the success of the whole plan.Abigail somehow found a way to entertain herself, but her ‘way’ of entertaining herself was a distraction to me. She sat cross legged on the bed, popping on a bubble that suddenly appeared out of nowhere! Okay, I was probably exaggerating. But I don't remember having any bubble wraps in this room. “Can you stop that?” I asked, fixing her with a firm glare. She made eye contact with me for a moment and then resumed with what she was doing. Intentionally disregarding my polite request. After a while, the popping sounds ceased. And just when I was about to have an internal celebration that she had popped all that needed to be popped, the popping sounds resumed again. I groaned,

Chapter 17Abigail’s POV The rest of the day went better than expected. I actually enjoyed the attention Logan showered on me throughout the day. Deliberately putting his work to a halt. And I finally agreed to Gigi coming over and Logan agreed to not excessively monitor us whenever Gigi decides to visit. I woke up the next day, feeling refreshed and having a more positive outlook of this entire surrogacy thing. Yes, that was how easy it was for Logan to change my mindset just by giving me his time and attention. I quickly freshened up and put on high waisted jean trousers with a sweater vest and then I pulled my hair into a low ponytail. Soon after, I went downstairs and sat on the couch while scrolling through my instagram feed. My phone buzzed and a notification popped up on the screen. My heart skipped a bit when I saw that it was my mother’s weekly assessment mail from the hospital. I clicked on it, expecting to see something terrible but I was relieved when I saw that they h

Chapter 18Logan's POV“I can't wait to see how smoking hot she is—” Gabe was saying when I threw him a death glare. We were in the VIP lounge of Eli’s five star club and I had just informed them that Abigail would be coming over.“Come on, don't tell me you are catching feelings already” Gabe said, giving me a light slap on my arm.I grabbed his wrist, my nails digging into his skin and said, “I don't appreciate you talking about her in that manner”“Lover boy” Gabe drawled mockingly.I ignored him and picked up my phone. It had been over thirty minutes since I sent the driver over to pick Abigail. I wonder why she isn't here yet. By my calculations, she was supposed to be here by now. I picked up my phone and was about to call the driver when the door to the vip lounge opened and Abigail walked in, escorted by the driver.I was astounded when I took in her entire appearance. I suddenly regretted making that outfit choice, because it looked so perfect on her and that would draw the

Chapter 19 Abigail’s POV The night went by in a blur. There were a few show performances then slow dances and I even got to familiarise more with Gabe. I noticed Eli was a bit laid back and didn't even make an attempt to create any small talk like Gabe did. Of course, I can't forget the occasional glares that Logan threw at Gabe each time he came close to me or attempted pulling me in for a dance. I really appreciated the fact that Logan considered introducing me to some of his business partners— or friends like Gabe repeated multiple times. At first, I didn't like the whole idea of a club being the venue for the outing but with time I warmed up to it. I appreciated Gabe's energy and friendliness, it really went a long way in making me feel comfortable in no time and it also compensated for Eli’s brooding nature. Overall, last night was a refreshing experience and I would really appreciate it if Logan could come up with more outings like that. At least for the duration of

Chapter 20Logan’s POVI tucked my hands into the side pocket of my trousers, as I stood behind the large glass window in my office that offered a clear view of the bustling streets. This was the other part of my life. The not so shady or hidden part. I was at cyberion tech today. A company owned by my adoptive father, who over time I have learnt to view as my biological father. So, it was quite understandable why I was the head of the company. The sound of my office door alarm interrupted my reverie, and caused me to avert my gaze from the street. I watched as my clumsy receptionist shuffled in with a few jumbled up files in her arms. She couldn’t even make an extra attempt to appear tidy. The only reason I hadn’t fired her yet was because she somehow managed to earn my father’s trust and he was very fond of her. So, firing her will hurt him to some extent. “Sir” she called out as she dropped the files on my desk and sauntered towards where I stood. “You can speak,” I said, makin

Chapter 42Logan’s POVThe pregnancy was progressing well, everything was going according to plan and I couldn’t be more glad. Today my group had a meeting with the boss. By my group, I mean Gabe, Eli and I. As usual, I was up early. I had a cup of coffee before setting out but not after making sure to spell it out to Mrs Johnson that Abigail must not miss any meals and all meals must be given at the appropriate time. And of course, I didn’t forget to remind the guards of their duties too. I even went as far as threatening them. I opened a compartment in my car where I kept items needed for meetings like this. By items, I meant weapons. I pulled out a pocket pistol from the stack of weapons and slid it into the pocket of my trouser. The pocket pistol had to be my favorite weapon because of its portability and concealable nature. My phone buzzed with a notification from Gabe, ‘hurry up, butt head. We are running late’. I rolled my eyes at the newfound name, then pressed on the acce

Chapter 41 Abigail’s POV After the pregnancy was confirmed positive, Logan made sure to even double his protectiveness. If I thought his protectiveness earlier was choking then this was way worse. I really couldn’t go anywhere without a guard by my side. Yes, he even went as far as assigning a guard who follows me each time I go to visit my mother. I felt like my new found freedom was confiscated once again. Logan rarely took me along to events like he started doing recently. I was already one month gone, so I decided to visit my mother more frequently now. Before I start showing. As usual, Mrs Johnson prepared the meal I would carry along to my mother. I carried it along and began my journey to the hospital. In no time we arrived at the hospital and I instructed the guard to wait outside the hospital room while I went in to see my mother. I gathered enough fund with the support of Sebastien and I was able to pay for the surgery. The doctors were able to remove the tumor succe

Chapter 40Logan’s POVAfter the occurrence at the dinner party, the entire week was uneventful. I was surprised that I wasn’t getting any calls from my father reminding me to reach out to Camilla. I haven’t done that and I do not plan on doing that any time soon. A smile formed on my face as I recalled how responsive Abigail was on Sunday night. It only made me glad that I was able to please her in the best possible way. We were still awaiting the result of the pregnancy test that was carried out at the hospital. Today makes it two months since Abigail moved into the villa and it has been the best two months of my life so far. Coming home each day knowing I would meet her had to be one of my favorite parts of the day. I wish the result would come out negative because that would give me more time to carry out my plans effectively and also it would increase the months we have to spend together. The vibration of my phone in the pocket of my trouser broke me out of the train of thoug

Chapter 39Abigail’s POVLogan nodded, “I believe I didn’t stutter. The lady over here is my surrogate”Camilla’s father had a confused expression on his face, “Son, I do not understand. Why do you have a surrogate? When did this all happen?” Camilla’s father asked, then turned to give Logan’s father a confused look. Logan’s father looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here. “It isn’t what it seems like. My son got a surrogate when he discovered that Camilla couldn’t beat children” Logan’s father tried to explain. Camilla’s mother sighed, she also had this issue in her marriage. They also had a surrogate but unlike her daughter, she was fertile enough to contribute to the pregnancy. “Did you discuss this with my daughter before making this decision?” Camilla’s mother, Bridget, questioned Logan with a straight face. “Your daughter is aware of this. She isn’t just taking it well because she feels insecure. Not to mention, she was out of the country when I decided to get a surrog

  • Nine Months Surrogacy Contract    Chapter 38: outburst

Chapter 38Abigail’s POVJudging from the huge modern mansion that was in front of us, it was quite obvious that Camilla’s parents were wealthy and well to do. There were cars parked at each side of the huge car park in front of the house. Logan effortlessly drove the Mercedes in between two other cars and then stopped the engine. He stepped out of the car leaving me inside the car and a few seconds later the door to the passengers seat was open and he stretched out his hand towards me. “Come on” he said with a nod, gesturing for me to take his hands. I placed my small hands into his larger ones and he helped me out of the car. I held onto his hand to stabilize myself because I had on my feet a stiletto heel. As soon as I was able to stabilize myself Logan placed a hand under my chin and tilted my head upwards, “you’ll be fine, I promise. Just stay by my side” then he intertwined his arm with mine and we made our way to the entrance. The pleasant aroma of various dishes that were

Chapter 37Abigail’s POV As the day of the dinner party drew nearer, I found myself getting more and more anxious at the thought of how the whole event could play out. A part of me strongly believed Logan’s assurance that nothing would go wrong. But, another part of me still had the feeling that something was going to go wrong. “Umm… I wouldn’t be able to attend the dinner on Sunday” I said nervously because I was scared of what his reaction could be, but I just had to say it. We laid on the bed and Logan had his arms around my waist with my back leaning against his chest. I felt his arms tighten around my waist when he heard that. “What do you mean by that?” He asked, his hot breath fanning my cheek. “Unfortunately, I have an important place to be on that day. I just got notified today” I explained calmly, trying to sound as sincere as possible even though I was just making up a lie. “And what is that thing that is so important? Have you forgotten that we made an agreement?” Lo

Chapter 36Logan’s POVI watched as Abigail walked into the bedroom with a bright expression on her face. I could see that she must have enjoyed her outing with her friend, Gigi. She turned to face me upon noticing my gaze on her, “oh. You got back before me today” she said, then proceeded to drop her bag on the dressing table. “I sure did” I replied with a curt nod, not taking my gaze off her. I watched as she unbuckled her sandals and then carefully pulled them off before placing them aside. “How was your outing?” I asked, even though I knew the reply to expect.“It was really good! It felt really nice being able to see Gigi in a place outside the four walls of this villa” she said, “not that you haven’t been generous enough to allow her visit, though” she quickly added. “Hmm,” I said with a nod, “that’s good. So, where did you both go?” “We went to a restaurant in town,” she said, eying me suspiciously.I nodded. I like the fact that she was being so honest. I always know her w

Yes, you must be wondering if we were the only people in the restaurant this very day. The answer to your question is a big NO. My best friend didn’t just care if she drew attention to herself. In fact, she feeds on attention. I wrapped my arms around her gently in contrast to the firm hold she had around me. “I’m excited to see you too, Gigi” I said, giggling at her excitement. She finally released me and stared at me with her huge doe eyes, “I see Mr Logan finally permitted you some freedom from his confinement” she said with a smile on her face. “Yes, he did,” I said with a nod. “Come on!” She nudged me, “Give me details, how did you manage to convince him to grant you this freedom?” She asked, her tone giving off the fact that she was so curious to get an answer. “Well… more l

Chapter 34Helena’s POV My lips instinctively became upturned as I stared at the bundles of new notes in my arms. I wasn’t aware of the total amount yet but I could tell that it would amount to more than a million dollars, which was the agreed fee. I love the feeling that came with having tons of money. It filled me with some sort of joy. “It was nice working with you” I said with a sly smirk as I tucked the money into my black drawstring bag before putting it in my backpack. This was the job I did. This was the job that provided me with my daily income, and never have I regretted getting into it. “Well done. You did well” I was taken aback by that, for Gabe to actually praise me for my effort, it could only mean that I really did well. Far beyond whatever expectations they might have had. I nodded, “thank you,” then he walked away, I stared at his retreating figure till he was eventually out of sight. For some people, it might seem like the job I involved myself in was risky
