From what she remembers, she had never given out her number to Lucas and she knew immediately that Daphne was behind him. She wondered what else Daphne had spoken to him about.

She did not reply to him after a few days, but he kept sending her messages every day since she would not take his calls.

She had wanted a meeting with Daphne to discuss the recent development but she had traveled back for work. She had put forth several calls to her, but they were never answered. It always went to voicemail.

One fateful afternoon, Daphne finally called.

"I think you should see Lucas," she said when they exchanged pleasantries.

"I don't know how Alex is going to take it," she said with a tinge of exasperation in her voice.

"If you do not feel anything for Lucas, then I suggest that you let him know early enough so you don't break him again," Daphne's voice sounded a bit mean. She rarely sounded like that.
