*Cali POV*

I gasp, my heart pounding as he explores my mouth. He whisks me off my feet while I hold on to his neck, pulling him down, refusing for our lips to part. This feels so good. He sits on the bed with me on his lap and intensifies the kiss. My hips instinctively gyrates over his groan, the friction on my sensitive button sending electric waves throughout my body. I want more, much more than this but he breaks off the kiss and rests his forehead against mine.

“Cali,” he murmurs my name, his deep husky voice making my already racing heart flutter.

He curses under his breath before I hear a knock next door and her honeyed voice fill the air.

His mate is here. He sensed her, that’s why he stopped. Even if I was stupid enough to give myself to him, she will always come first. It’s not his fault but it’s still hurts like hell. I get off him and motion with my head for him to go.
