MIRABELLALucas stared at me in surprise and I could tell that my confession had taken him off guard. I crossed my fingers hoping that he was going to respond in a positive way, however, after a few minutes he smiled. That smile really unnerved me because what I had said wasn't in any way funny, it was exactly how I felt."Is this a joke?" he asked. "I don't joke when it comes to matters of the heart," I replied. He got up from his seat and I instantly followed suit. "Please, before you say anything, just know this, all my life I have only cared about one thing and I've been so passionate about it and that's my books. I've always wanted to excel in school and be the best and I'm actually one of the best in my college. I'm a go-getter, I am someone who knows what I want and I go for it. I'm saying this so you understand that I am clear-headed and not confused about anything. This is the first time in my life that I feel this way. Mr. Lucas, I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't do any
MIRABELLALucas had just claimed my lips for the second time when his secretary pushed open the door to his office, apparently forgetting to knock. We instantly let go of each other and turned. My cheeks were completely flushed and my heart was beating very fast. Lucas squinted his eyes at his secretary and a look of surprise flashed across her face before she apologized and quickly shut the door behind herWe turned our attention back to each other and Lucas stared at me for a while before saying, "this was a mistake." "No, it wasn't," I argued. "It was my first kiss and it was as amazing as I'd always imagined it will be. I gave you my word that I will leave after the kiss so I'll do just that."He kept staring at me and as I spoke, I picked up his phone from the table while desperately hoping that it was not password protected. I sighed in relief when I successfully opened his dialer and without wasting any time, I typed my number into his phone and dialed it.I took out my phone
NOVAI sat across from Aiden, staring at him with a feeling of joy. After our classes today, he asked me out to dinner. I asked him about Ella, considering the fact that he had earlier convinced me she wasn't such a bad person. I noticed that she had missed some of her classes, which was unlike her, and he told me she wasn't feeling too well. I thought about getting her number to call and check up on her but realized we weren't at that stage yet. I just wished her well instead. We ate, drank, and talked about a lot of stuff. I got to know more about his family, like the fact that his mom was late. We were similar in that aspect, and I noticed he was more open toward me. This was the third time he had asked me out on a date though but he was yet to make his intentions open before me. Other than being extra nice, he hadn't said anything about his feelings for me so I decided to take matters into my own hands, perhaps he was afraid or needed a nudge. After our date, we noticed it was
ELLAI woke up late in the morning, having spent the night imagining how my date with Lucas would go. When I was ready for school, I left the house and walked toward where I parked my car. I saw Cameron standing beside my car and laughed. Did he think that I had forgotten what happened the day before? He stretched out his arm, holding my favorite chocolate in it, and said, "I am so sorry about yesterday. Please have this as a peace offering."I stared at the chocolate for a while and smiled. "You are lucky I am in a good mood; otherwise, you would have found your way to school today or let Mom drop you off.""Thank you," he said and got into the car. As usual, I dropped him off at school before going to mine. After my class, I noticed that Nova was staring at me. I smiled at her, and she walked over to where I was sitting and said, "Hi Ella, how are you?" Everyone around us was surprised because they knew how deep our enmity ran."I'm fine," I replied, "thank you very much for aski
LUCASAs I watched Ella get into her car and drive off, I smiled happily to myself. Tonight went really well, better than I had expected. I knew I had fallen too; I had fallen for her. She was such a sweet girl, full of life and so adorable. She had no idea how much effort it took for me to hold back tonight. I was actually looking for common ground between us; something fun we could do together. I could not remember the last time I went swimming though; it wasn't really a hobby for me. It was something I probably did once in two years but it was an opportunity to spend time with her, so when I heard her say that swimming was her hobby, I instantly took advantage of the opportunity and told her it was mine too. With that, I was able to arrange another date. This time, we will meet as a couple and I was so badly looking forward to it. As I drove back home, I kept thinking about how I was going to tell my daughter, Nova that I was now in a relationship. Since we were both open to
ELLAI watched Lucas silently as he said to Nova, "Let me talk to you later, darling. Yes, I wanted to tell you at the right time. I'll introduce you to her, soon."I knew Lucas was talking about me and when he ended the call and came back to meet me by the pool, he cupped my cheeks and asked, "What happened? Why is your face suddenly so pale? Please tell me, my love."I sighed, "Actually, Lucas, I haven't been completely honest with you.""What have you hidden from me?" he asked.I stared at him for a while. I was looking into his eyes but I couldn't read what was there. In the end, I decided not to say everything. I didn't know how Lucas would react if I told him the truth and I'd be devastated if I lost him."I already know your daughter," I said to him. "After I fell for you, I did a little digging, and with both your last names similar, I was able to find out that Nova, who is in the same class as I am, is your daughter.""Really? he asked.I nodded."Do you have a good relations
ELLAI did my best to prepare for my test, which was coming up in two days. However, I was distracted. Thoughts of Lucas filled my day and made it difficult for me to focus. But then, when the day came for me to write my test, I was still able to do well—not as good as I would have done if it were the old me, but pretty good enough.Nova had become even more friendly. She smiled at me that Friday since we both had our tests on the same day. Aiden also came around, but I didn't get the time to talk with him. After our test, Nova was all over him. At this point, it was obvious that something was going on between them. But for reasons best known to him, Aiden didn't want to tell me. I let it go because I believed that eventually, he was going to talk about it.That Friday night, I could barely sleep. I was filled with so much excitement as I knew that I was going to spend the next day with Lucas. Despite how busy he was, he still made out time to call me every night before going to bed.
NOVAI got ready and left my house in the morning. I didn't want to leave before my dad came back, so I waited for him after getting dressed. Aiden had said it was okay for me to arrive early in the morning, so that was what I did. After my dad came in, I hugged him, made small talk with him, found out how his trip went, and then drove out of the house to meet with Aiden. I was so excited because I believed that something was going to happen - something to make us much closer - because I noticed that Aiden rarely took the initiative. When I arrived at his house, Aiden was incidentally alone. His dad had gone out, and there was no one else, so we had the house all to ourselves. He seemed happy to have me there. He hugged me and welcomed me into his house. We sat for a while in the living room while he said he wanted to freshen up. When he came out, he said he baked a cake for me. Although I hadn't made any special requests, he had still put in the effort to do something nice for me.
