I thought about getting her number to call and check up on her but realized we weren't at that stage yet. I just wished her well instead. We ate, drank, and talked about a lot of stuff. ELLAI did my best to prepare for my test, which was coming up in two days. However, I was distracted. Thoughts of Lucas filled my day and made it difficult for me to focus. But then, when the day came for me to write my test, I was still able to do well—not as good as I would have done if it were the old me, but pretty good enough.Nova had become even more friendly. She smiled at me that Friday since we both had our tests on the same day. Aiden also came around, but I didn't get the time to talk with him. After our test, Nova was all over him. At this point, it was obvious that something was going on between them. But for reasons best known to him, Aiden didn't want to tell me. I let it go because I believed that eventually, he was going to talk about it.That Friday night, I could barely sleep. I was filled with so much excitement as I knew that I was going to spend the next day with Lucas. Despite how busy he was, he still made out time to call me every night before going to bed.

NOVAI got ready and left my house in the morning. I didn't want to leave before my dad came back, so I waited for him after getting dressed. Aiden had said it was okay for me to arrive early in the morning, so that was what I did. After my dad came in, I hugged him, made small talk with him, found out how his trip went, and then drove out of the house to meet with Aiden. I was so excited because I believed that something was going to happen - something to make us much closer - because I noticed that Aiden rarely took the initiative.When I arrived at his house, Aiden was incidentally alone. His dad had gone out, and there was no one else, so we had the house all to ourselves. He seemed happy to have me there. He hugged me and welcomed me into his house. We sat for a while in the living room while he said he wanted to freshen up. When he came out, he said he baked a cake for me. Although I hadn't made any special requests, he had still put in the effort to do something nice for me.
