NOVAI sat across from Aiden, staring at him with a feeling of joy. After our classes today, he asked me out to dinner. I asked him about Ella, considering the fact that he had earlier convinced me she wasn't such a bad person. I noticed that she had missed some of her classes, which was unlike her, and he told me she wasn't feeling too well. I thought about getting her number to call and check up on her but realized we weren't at that stage yet. I just wished her well instead. We ate, drank, and talked about a lot of stuff. I got to know more about his family, like the fact that his mom was late. We were similar in that aspect, and I noticed he was more open toward me. This was the third time he had asked me out on a date though but he was yet to make his intentions open before me. Other than being extra nice, he hadn't said anything about his feelings for me so I decided to take matters into my own hands, perhaps he was afraid or needed a nudge. After our date, we noticed it was
ELLAI woke up late in the morning, having spent the night imagining how my date with Lucas would go. When I was ready for school, I left the house and walked toward where I parked my car. I saw Cameron standing beside my car and laughed. Did he think that I had forgotten what happened the day before? He stretched out his arm, holding my favorite chocolate in it, and said, "I am so sorry about yesterday. Please have this as a peace offering."I stared at the chocolate for a while and smiled. "You are lucky I am in a good mood; otherwise, you would have found your way to school today or let Mom drop you off.""Thank you," he said and got into the car. As usual, I dropped him off at school before going to mine. After my class, I noticed that Nova was staring at me. I smiled at her, and she walked over to where I was sitting and said, "Hi Ella, how are you?" Everyone around us was surprised because they knew how deep our enmity ran."I'm fine," I replied, "thank you very much for aski
LUCASAs I watched Ella get into her car and drive off, I smiled happily to myself. Tonight went really well, better than I had expected. I knew I had fallen too; I had fallen for her. She was such a sweet girl, full of life and so adorable. She had no idea how much effort it took for me to hold back tonight. I was actually looking for common ground between us; something fun we could do together. I could not remember the last time I went swimming though; it wasn't really a hobby for me. It was something I probably did once in two years but it was an opportunity to spend time with her, so when I heard her say that swimming was her hobby, I instantly took advantage of the opportunity and told her it was mine too. With that, I was able to arrange another date. This time, we will meet as a couple and I was so badly looking forward to it. As I drove back home, I kept thinking about how I was going to tell my daughter, Nova that I was now in a relationship. Since we were both open to
ELLAI watched Lucas silently as he said to Nova, "Let me talk to you later, darling. Yes, I wanted to tell you at the right time. I'll introduce you to her, soon."I knew Lucas was talking about me and when he ended the call and came back to meet me by the pool, he cupped my cheeks and asked, "What happened? Why is your face suddenly so pale? Please tell me, my love."I sighed, "Actually, Lucas, I haven't been completely honest with you.""What have you hidden from me?" he asked.I stared at him for a while. I was looking into his eyes but I couldn't read what was there. In the end, I decided not to say everything. I didn't know how Lucas would react if I told him the truth and I'd be devastated if I lost him."I already know your daughter," I said to him. "After I fell for you, I did a little digging, and with both your last names similar, I was able to find out that Nova, who is in the same class as I am, is your daughter.""Really? he asked.I nodded."Do you have a good relations
ELLAI did my best to prepare for my test, which was coming up in two days. However, I was distracted. Thoughts of Lucas filled my day and made it difficult for me to focus. But then, when the day came for me to write my test, I was still able to do well—not as good as I would have done if it were the old me, but pretty good enough.Nova had become even more friendly. She smiled at me that Friday since we both had our tests on the same day. Aiden also came around, but I didn't get the time to talk with him. After our test, Nova was all over him. At this point, it was obvious that something was going on between them. But for reasons best known to him, Aiden didn't want to tell me. I let it go because I believed that eventually, he was going to talk about it.That Friday night, I could barely sleep. I was filled with so much excitement as I knew that I was going to spend the next day with Lucas. Despite how busy he was, he still made out time to call me every night before going to bed.
NOVAI got ready and left my house in the morning. I didn't want to leave before my dad came back, so I waited for him after getting dressed. Aiden had said it was okay for me to arrive early in the morning, so that was what I did. After my dad came in, I hugged him, made small talk with him, found out how his trip went, and then drove out of the house to meet with Aiden. I was so excited because I believed that something was going to happen - something to make us much closer - because I noticed that Aiden rarely took the initiative. When I arrived at his house, Aiden was incidentally alone. His dad had gone out, and there was no one else, so we had the house all to ourselves. He seemed happy to have me there. He hugged me and welcomed me into his house. We sat for a while in the living room while he said he wanted to freshen up. When he came out, he said he baked a cake for me. Although I hadn't made any special requests, he had still put in the effort to do something nice for me.
Nova held on to Lucas' body as she cried. Lucas stared at Ella and then back at Nova, "What is it, Nova? Why do you keep crying?" he asked. Nova looked up at Ella and asked, "Why? Why did you do this to me, Ella?" Lucas stared at Ella in surprise, "What's going on here? What is she talking about, Ella?" Nova said, "Dad, I told you about Aiden, isn't it?" "Yes, you said he's your boyfriend. You guys have been going out and you were very happy about it," Lucas replied. Nova nodded, "Everything was all planned by Ella. She sent Aiden into my life, she sent him to pretend to be my boyfriend all because she wants to beat me in school, just for the sake of bigger grades. She sent Aiden to my life so he can destabilize me.""What?" Lucas looked at Ella who was shaking her head and said, "Ella? That's not possible." "But she did, Dad." Nova cried. "Do you remember the girl I used to refer to as my archenemy? Well, she's the one standing right in front of you. I'm pretty sure she's....
LUCASEverything seemed so surreal to me. In a twinkling of an eye, I had lost Ella. It was hard for me to believe that Ella pretended to be in love with me. Nova seemed to be convinced that she had been acting, but I tried to reason with her. "No, Dad, you do not know her as much as I do," she said. "I've known her for years. She's someone who will do anything, just to be on top. Please, Dad, listen to me.""It's fine," I said to Nova, as I stroked her hair. "I hate Ella so much," Nova added. "You know, before, I just saw her as my enemy. I didn't really hate her, I just disliked her. But now? Forget it, Dad. Ella is really evil.""I understand," I said to Nova. "I'll never give her the chance to come close to us again. It was my fault for giving her the opportunity. Please forgive me." Nova smiled at me. "Thank you. I'm also sorry, Dad. If it weren't for me, Ella wouldn't have set her sights on you. You would not have been her target, and you would not have gotten hurt in the pro
