Tricia POV
I woke up feeling elated. My thoughts went to my husband who I will be seeing for the first time. "Great goodness, make everything right." I prayed. With a song in my mouth, I went to take my bath. "Hello, yes he is coming today... I will know who that small businessman is." I heard my brother say while walking to prepare our morning meal. He was on a call. My eyes widened as I got to know that he was speaking about my supposed husband. I can't tell why, but I am shocked. What if he was selling me to his rival? I care less about it. Anyway, my life was just getting better or worse, but the fact is that very soon I will be out of this home. I have spent my 22 years living here with two years of hardship without my parents. I walked to the kitchen and began preparing what I needed to make for breakfast. My supposed husband would be here at any time, and this made my leg tremble. "Tricia!" I heard my name been called and looked back. Thankfully, it was Alex and not his girlfriend, Cherry. I requested for what he wanted and gave him. A smile was painted on his face, making me remember about what they were planning to do to my supposed husband. My mind went to how the man was going to look like, and I could just mumble some words. I began cleaning the house while Alex sat eating. My stomach ached, and I paused what I was doing to go and serve myself some food. "Where do you think you are going?" Alex asked. "To get some food as my legs aches," "Get back to whatever you were doing," he said. "You don't need to put on weight before your husband sees you." My heart skipped a beat. Was he trying to starve me or is he punishing me? I shook my head looking at him. Not regarding his warning, I walked into the kitchen and began to eat directly from the pot. Going through the stress of getting a plate could result in me not eating. As I was about taking the fifth spoon into my mouth, I received a punch making the spoon to fall. Alex dragged my hair, pushing me to the ground as he ordered that I continue cleaning. With that, he collected the kitchen key and left to lock it. It gave me joy that I had something in me, although it wasn't enough. I wasn't listening to Alex's screams as I continued my duty. At a point, I wanted to scream back at him, but I guess I would save it till my supposed husband came. All I could pray for is for the man to be good. A knock on the door, and it was Cherry. "I would like to be here when your darling husband will come." My eyes blinked as she said the word, darling, but I still had to behave like her portion was working. Alex called for her, and although he spoke to her in a whisper, I could hear because I was close to them. He told Cherry of how I forced my way into the kitchen and ate. Cherry looked at me and asked my reason for disobeying Alex as I promised to obey them. While she was still at it, we heard a knock on the door. Alex walked to open it, and we saw a tall man with broad shoulders standing. "Good day, what's your name?" Alex asked, obviously that he didn't know who he was. The man had a dark eyeglass worn on his face, "I am Morgan Bliss." Hearing this made both Alex and Cherry smile. "Come in," Cherry said. I stared at the man. My body shook as I looked at him. He was handsome and looked like a fighter. "Hi, pretty one," he said with a wink. "I believe you are smart." I nodded my head but didn't understand why he said that. "We've deliberated on what we want from you," Cherry said, handing him a note. He gave me an awkward look then handed the note to me, "You planned this list." My eyes couldn't believe what they had written here. For a man running a small organization, this was a lot. Alex smiled, pulling me closer. He told Morgan that we agreed to it. My heart ached as I refused. "You promised to obey me," Alex whispered to me. "Well, your plan will never work," I said. "I didn't drink the god-damn liquid." Alex wore a shocked expression, looking at Cherry but before he could speak, Morgan spoke. "I guess I need to eat," He said. Cherry smiled telling me to get his food, but he stopped me saying a bride doesn't work on her day. This made Cherry angry as she left to the kitchen. Morgan lovingly ordered for two plates, mine and his. I stared at my lovely husband but he kept his eyes away from me. After the meal, Morgan asked that a room be prepared for him as he would be sending the night over only to leave the next morning with his bride. I was excited by this behavior and saw the fear on the dual's face. Morgan began to press his phone then looked at Alex, "I have sent you some money." "This isn't enough," Alex protested. "It's enough to feed you for a year and get you a business, you lazy fellow." A smile formed on my face but was short-lived as Morgan turned to me and told me to go to my room. "You only come out when I call you for dinner." My heart was joyful as I left to my room hearing Cherry's murmur. "He isn't what we chose," I heard Cherry say to Alex as I had my ear on the wall. "He is arrogant and poor." "Well, I am glad Tricia's husband isn't wealthy."Tricia's POV I stayed in the room patiently as instructed by my supposed husband. I heard all Cherry said about him and prayed that he would be nice to me and not give in to their demands. Soon, I drifted off and slept, but my sleep wasn't as sweet as I wanted, it was interrupted by a knock on my door. I got up with determination to talk back to whoever was at my door. By this, I would get to know if they fear my husband. Opening the door with my mouth opened to shout at whoever it was, I closed it when I saw the tall figure standing next to me. "Morgan!" I looked at his face. Why was he here? "Do you want anything?" "I just want to see your face." I stared at him, confusion written all over my face. Anyway, he was my husband, so I let out a smile. "I am tired." "You should be." He raised my head. "You should get back inside." Such a weird behavior. Did he only come to see my face? I guess I am no longer sleepy. It felt boring to stay in the room, guess it's because
Tricia's POV Getting out of the house felt like freedom for me as I giggled. Morgan's face turned cold to me as he tightened his grip on me. "Morgan, I have difficulty breathing," I complained. "Like I care," he said as a jeep drove to us. He opened the back door and shoved me in before walking to the front, beside the driver. My heart ached as I saw him sit. I questioned myself if he was the same person who behaved caring to me. "Boss, is she the one?" I heard his driver ask, and he nodded, giving some caution to his driver. The jeep moved for a long, and I felt my heart aggravated. We've been on the road for two hours, yet the jeep didn't stop. This made me disturbed. "Morgan! Where are we heading?" I managed to ask. "My house," he said without looking back. The jeep drove through a gate and he stepped out of the car. "Come down," he said. Walking into the house, I expected to see a nice background but instead, I saw some young men looking at me. Two of them had cigaret
Tricia POV I tried to hear what my brother had done but heard nothing as Alonso kept his mouth mute afterward. It could only mean that Alex had done something irrational. Focusing, I climbed the staircase to the room. Getting in, I found my way to the bed only to be woken by a tap. My eyes flew open and I looked at the man standing close to me. I rubbed my eyes before getting a glimpse of his eyes. It was Morgan. Immediately, I sat on the bed looking at Morgan and asked what he wanted. "Come down, we are ready to eat," he said. Pain washed over me as I thought of what he said. My heart was troubled as I needed to cook for them all. Am I a maid? Like he knew my thoughts, he pulled me close to himself, telling me that I wasn't cooking as they ordered already-cooked food. I got up and walked out of the room. My heartbeat hastened as I saw many of them look at me like I had done something wrong to them. "Take your seat," Morgan said, pulling a chair for me. I opened the food, an
Tricia POV My eyes flew to the book on the couch, and I wondered what wrong my family had done to them. I prayed that my husband didn't want to torment me for their betrayal. Anyway, he's been kind to me ever since I got here. I heard a slight knock on the door and thought of the reason Morgan would knock on the door. Maybe... My thoughts were interrupted when the door was pushed open. It was one of Morgan's men. He smiled, looked at me, and walked to the book on the couch. "I hope you haven't seen this?" he asked holding it to his chest and turned before walking out. "You could have read this. Do not take it to heart." Without waiting any moment, he walked out. My eyes blinked as I thought of what he meant by DO NOT TAKE IT TO HEART. Anyway, it was none of my business, I sighed. "Tricia!" I heard my name as the door opened. It was Morgan. The way he was staring at me scared me. I didn't see love in his eyes, neither did I see hatred, and I wondered why he called me. I got up
Tricia POV "Two thousand dollars for a bottle of wine isn't small, it's really expensive. I guess you used your one-year earnings to get it," I said. Johnny got up, and it felt like he was going to hit me but Morgan pulled him back. "You can think whatever you want," he said. I felt like laughing but because he is going to marry me didn't allow me. What if he gets angry and hits me? It would be my fault. I watched how he walked with Johnny down the stairs and joined the other men. Alonso was talking and laughing with a man who looked older than him. My eyes drew to another man, and it seemed I had seen him before with Alex. Waving the thought off, my phone rang. Looking at the screen, I saw Miguel's name. Miguel Field, my boyfriend. Morgan stared at my nervous face and walked to me. I prayed with all that was within me that he wouldn't look at my phone. "What is that?" He asked. "It's nothing important," I said, and he walked away. It felt weird but I looked away. It was
Tricia POV I wondered the reason he took the picture, but before I could speak, Morgan clarified me, "We would be getting married next, that is in some days so this is our premarital picture." The last word he said made me think. Why do we need a premarital picture when we won't be having any other guests other than the young men here? "You do not need to worry," he said making me sigh. I decided to ask him what they were discussing before I arrived, but instead of answering, they all snubbed me, going their separate ways. A smile appeared on my face as I saw that even Morgan had left me. I fumbled with my fingers as I remained seated. They were annoying and all I wanted right now was to be alone. It would be better if I am alone with my husband. Happiness wore on me as I remembered we would be moving the next day. A man walked to the couch opposite me, and I tried to speak with him, but he snubbed me by pressing his phone. "What wrong have I done?" I inquired. "Is it because
Tricia POV Morgan stepped down and looked at me. I haven't gotten myself cleaned. A smirk appeared on his face as he asked me if I was not comfortable with the bathroom. I nodded and looked around. The house was big for such a bathroom. "You can use mine," I heard as he walked up the stairs. Pondering if I should follow him, I already saw him on the top of the stairs. I rushed to join him as we entered a room. It was large and beautiful. "This is beautiful," my mouth twitched in amazement at the sight that welcomed me. "This is my room," he said, and I smiled, looking at our room, but what he said next made me dumbfounded. I wasn't staying in the room with him as he had a separate room for me which was downstairs. He warned me not to come upstairs without his permission, and the bathroom that irritates me remains my bathroom. This made me shocked, but I waved the shock off; he might want to stay pure before our ceremony. I asked him to leave the room and he smiled, walking awa
Tricia POV I walked out of the kitchen to the living room and could see Morgan eating a snack. He stared at me, smiling, and when I asked him for the way he got the snack, I got a scornful response. "I would like to prepare something," I said while he kept smiling. "I got it from a vendor," he said when I didn't stop questioning him. I asked if he had gotten anything for me but his response was a scornful laugh. Morgan reminded me of the rules in the list. I didn't believe it was real. It was a form of torture. Morgan looked at a couch, and I took my seat, watching him as he ate. My stomach grumbled, but I kept my eyes on Morgan. Minutes later, he threw a snack at me and then got up. "I kept a drink in the little fridge over there." With that, he walked away. I stared at him as he left, thinking of the kind of man he was. Does he expect me to follow those stupid rules of his? Slowly, I walked to the small fridge and got the drink. It was my favorite. I haven't drunk it since
Tricia POV While Morgan slept quietly, I heard Drake and Theresa, it felt like they were having fun. This made me feel the urge, but Morgan was asleep. I smiled and prayed that nothing would come between them. As I closed my eyes to sleep, I felt Morgan gaze into my soul. I opened my eyes and saw him staring into my eyes. This made me shy. "There isn't a need to show your shyness," he said then looked to the door. "I didn't expect those children to sleep in the same room." "We can take drastic measures," I said. "How?" He asked. "Let's go check on them," I said. Taking a deep breath, Morgan got up from the bed with me, and we left for the room Theresa was in. The door was still open, as we advised. "Hello," I called out. I heard the bed creak like it had turned over. No one came out and I knew that they were pretending to be asleep. Morgan told them to remember the rules he laid down and only then did they reply. We left to our room minutes later. When the day was getti
Tricia POV I continued looking at my husband, he looked more cute whenever we kissed. Looking at my body, I felt a little shy because I already gained weight. "Do I look bigger?" I asked silently but could see a smile play on Morgan's face. It made me remember all the times he avoided my questions so I just laid my head on his shoulder. "You are beautiful the way you are," he whispered. We heard a person whistle and looked up. It was Cherry. I smiled, looking at her, and could see that Ethan wished to be with his Aunt. Miranda passed him to Cherry. "It's been great, today," Morgan said. "Those moves, where did you learn them from, Miguel?" Miguel looked at his wife, then smiled, looking at us. "Camila!" I called but he shook his head. "Her uncle," he said. Camila blushed as he said this. Minutes later, Morgan ended the meeting. "Before I go, I would like to apologize to someone," he said. He called on Alonso to get up and began to apologize. "I am sorry for what happen
Morgan POV The following morning, I woke up not seeing Tricia on the bed. A smile crossed my face as I didn't also see Ethan in his carrier. I went to take my bath then walked down when I was done dressing. "Would you like to go on a run with me?" I asked. Placing Ethan on the couch, she folded her hands. "Is that a greeting?" She asked. I took a deep breath and walked to kiss her. "Good morning," I said. I asked again if she wanted to go out with me. "Not yet," she said. "No one will be home with Ethan, you can go." I nodded and opened the door, after that, I jogged out. It took me an hour as I was the only one racing and jogged, I had the opportunity to run as long as I could and come back. Getting home, Tricia welcomed me with a kiss. Luckily, she wasn't holding Ethan. The doorbell rang, and Ethan's nanny walked in. Ethan struggled with us not to give him to his nanny, but we did. "Where should I stay?" She asked. "Anywhere," Tricia said and I nodded. The cook also
Morgan POV I sat watching the ball. The nanny walked down with Ethan, and she asked for the whereabouts of Tricia. Ethan sucked his tongue and this made me smile. "Give him to me," I said. After that, I asked her what best she would like for us to call her, and I let her leave. I felt bored at home; Ethan couldn't keep me company as he was a baby. I only did the least I could do to Ethan, his smiles made me remember my younger days. "Cute one," I called, touching his cheek, and he smiled. He looked around and I knew it was for his mother. "She should be back in the evening," I said to Ethan, who burst into tears. He didn't keep quiet although I sang. I couldn't read his mind, so I did the little I could do, there was no lady in the house, and I didn't want to disturb Tricia. I felt pained remembering our time in the past when I didn't allow her to work and when I did, it was disastrous. Looking at Ethan, I gave him a peck and kissed his forehead before I went to prepar
Morgan POV I was woken by a kiss from Tricia. "Good morning," I said sitting up. "Good morning, love," Tricia said giving me a peck on my forehead. She asked me when we would be going out for our morning exercise. "Ethan?" I asked. "He just slept," she said. I nodded and got up, dashed into the bathroom to take my bath. Done with my bath, I met Tricia's gaze on my abs. "Done looking?" I asked. She gave me a surprise look and then got up. "Do not forget what we would do today," she said, her hands tracing down my chest. "You should get dressed." She walked to the carrier and smiled, looking at Ethan who was fast asleep. Getting down, I saw the dining table prepared. Tricia sat with her eyes glued to her phone. I placed my hand in my pocket and walked towards her. "Are you going to eat?" I asked in a whisper, startling her. "Waiting for you," she said. With a nod, I took my seat. After eating, she asked of Ethan. "Let's go and see if he is awake," I said. We headed
Tricia POV "I didn't like them, then, but now they are my friends," I said. I looked at Ethan, who smiled, looking at my face. Some minutes later, I walked down with Ethan in my hand. Morgan was engrossed in his phone discussion so I walked to take my sit beside him. His calm demeanor made me smile. After the call, he turned to me and I saw a glow in his eyes. Our friends had left so it was only Morgan and I. The glow in his eyes made me smile, and he asked if I had fed Ethan. "Tomorrow, the two ladies should be here," he said. I wondered what ladies he was speaking about, but remembered about the nanny test. Morgan pulled me to himself and cupped my cheek. Ethan looked at our faces and then began to weep, his weeping giving me no choice but to get up. "Now, as a member of the group, I would like to test your moves," I heard him say. "What moves?" I asked him. "Don't act like you don't know," he said. "I... haven't.... had... enough... training...," I stammered moving back
Tricia POV I thought of my father, he was wrong, yes. Never would I expect that he could kill anyone, but he did. Not only did he kill Morgan's friend, but also my mother. He might have been a spy. How did the one-night sex with my mother happen? Also, how did he get to the hospital she was taken to? I didn't know that tears had begun to fall from my eyes until Morgan used his hand to clean my eyes; I immediately hugged Morgan. "Easy," he said raising my chin up. "Let me know what worries you." I shook my head, remembering that he told me to forget about my father. He held me tight to himself and we walked up the stairs. Waking the next day, I let out a sigh. "Good morning," I heard Morgan's voice as he gave me a morning kiss. A smile crossed my lips as I hugged him. He drew the curtains open, making the room bright. I asked if he had gone out to race. "I want us to go together," he said, giving me a peck on the lip. "Oh no, who is going to stay with Ethan?" I cried out.
Tricia POV "Can't I see you?" He asked. I walked to the bed, and he joined. "Do not touch me," I said. He looked at me like he was about to devour my body but later gave me a peck. "I will go out after getting the documents," he said. I watched as he left to get a file. Afterward, he left. A smile was on my lip as I watched him close the door, I wasn't ready for his romantic gesture. I got dressed and walked out of the room. "Morgan!" I called, noticing how he got busy. He paused what he was doing and gave me a faint smile before returning his gaze to the paperwork he had in front of him. "Where is Ethan?" I asked. "With Theresa," he said as he continued what he was doing. His behavior wasn't strange to me, and I knew that he wasn't angry with me; he was just busy. "Alright," I said and walked to look for Theresa. There, I saw Theresa seated on the swing. The swing wasn't moving but she was saying some words to Ethan. "Hi, Theresa," I said, placing a hand on the stand
Tricia POV Waking up the following morning, I placed a call to Cherry, informing her that we were back. After the call, I looked at the side, but didn't see Morgan but Ethan made a sound. I went to the baby carrier and discovered that Ethan was still in his last day's wear. Carrying his, I fed him and then gave him a nice bath. I looked around when I entered the room. "Where are you, Morgan?" I asked myself thinking of walking down to search for him. My eyes went straight to a table. Morgan always kept his phone there, but it wasn't there. I smiled, knowing that he went out sporting. Done dressing Ethan, I walked down the stairs and took my seat. I remembered what happened the last day and smiled knowing that Drake and Theresa wished to further their education. "A good start," I said, playing with Ethan. Soon, the door opened and Morgan walked in. "Good morning, love," he said giving me a peck. I smiled and told him to get a shower. Theresa also walked in and greeted; afte
