Astraea's POV

Like a raging storm, he entered and all the focus was shifted. He climbed the aisle with silent steps, but ironically his silence seemed of an infuriated wolf. The silent killer.

He took the only empty seat beside me and settled down. Ms. Brendon kept staring at him and so did he. But it didn't last long as Ms. Brendon backed away from the staring contest.

"Thank you, Ms. Kingston. You may take your seat."

I was literally confused on why she hasn't said anything to Zeus when he barged into the class like that. But that was the least of my worries.

From the corner of my eyes, I observed him. He simply played with the ring on his finger. My eyes moved through his figure. His black hoodies with black slacks made him look so dangerously hot. The same messy hair, like he just ran straight from his house after waking up.

I knew he could feel my gaze but he never, not even once looked at me. Sudden suffocation was burning through every pour of my heart in the desperation t

There wasn't a single part of my life except for my parents and Emily, who were normal. But how long will they stay apart? Who will assure me that they won't somehow get entangled in the mess? No, I really can't wait for the riddle to get solved. I had to do something, even if it meant knocking on every dead end. I took a blu

Astraea's POV My breath hitched as I counted on the possibility of getting slashed under so many wild paws. Will they even give me time to feel pain or will I be dead before I could feel anything? Clink... The forgotten knife fell on the grass near my leg. Hastily picking it up I pointed it towards the pack of the wolves. Even though they were standing on the other side of the lake, there was a high chance they could swim toward us. I was afraid to move and not wanting to show my fear, I firmly stood my ground. They weren't as big as Coffee, but that still wasn't comforting enough. One of them growled as it moved a little forward, its black eyes were penetrating into mine. Those sharp canines were covered with drool. They are really going to eat me, aren't they? The view, however, was blocked by the furry beast beside me. Coffee stood before me and howled so loudly that it made me shriek. I put my hands on my mouth to stop myself from screaming. Slowly, I took steps back. I wa

Astraea's POV The cold increased near my neck like invisible frost-lapped hands were choking me. I yelped in pain and immediately shut my mouth with my hands. If Zeus or the girl saw me in this state, I really won't know how to explain them. Pulling myself together, I stumbled down the corridor. The biting icy feeling was slowly spreading throughout my body and paralyzing me. Yet, I walked and dragged myself till the huge door of the old library came into view. The university was almost empty and students don't use this library much. Hence, no one is going to be here. I pushed open the huge oak door, and the light of the corridor dived through the little opening into the cold, dark room. I collapsed near the bench. Taking deep breaths I tried to calm my heart.Essence is the part of the soul. I remembered. If the words are true and not a myth, if these blue flames are truly part of what I believe they were, then I am bound to control them. I have to. For a moment, I tried to forg

Astraea's POV After Emily dropped me at home, I was glad that none of my parents were present. Otherwise, I don't know how would I have explained my state. Anyhow, I dragged myself upstairs to my room. Standing in front of the mirror, I pulled down the collar of my shirt. There was no marking or handprints on my neck, yet the excruciating pain felt like the outcome of getting choked, not in a good way. I sighed and walked to my bathroom. Opening the shower door, I stepped under the shower without even removing my clothes. Lukewarm water washed over my body, wetting my dress in the process. The warm sprinkles were a boon after the feeling of nearly dying in the frosty river. Closing my eyes, I felt every little drop softly touching my skin, washing away every anxiety and paranoic thought, even though for a few moments. But it was enough to clear my head of the fear and suffocation. Almost an hour later, I came out of the shower and changed my clothes into a cute Spongebob shorts a

Astraea's POV Coffee silently kept on eating. I scratched a little on his head, even though he was a goofball, I shouldn't forget that he is still wild. "Coffee, Did you ?" He looked at me once and barked. Right he can't understand you Astraea. Eating up his whole meal, the wolf howled loudly making me flinch. I took a few steps back when Coffee suddenly ran back into the forest. "I wasn't done yet." I murmured, following him. He was fast, abnormally fast, With my human legs, it was impossible to follow him. But I didn't stop. The rustling of leaves and the prints helped me track Coffee. I almost reached deep within the forest when the prints stopped. Where did he go? I looked around, Coffee wasn't there. Instead, there was a cave hidden between two huge trunks of trees. It was small compared to the size of Coffee, but it wouldn't be a loss if I do a little snooping. Nonetheless, I carefully looked inside the cave. It was dark, and few leaves were spread here and there. I p

Astraea's POV "Zeus"It was a small whisper that was buried under the serenity of the dark. No one could hear it. But certainly, he did. Though he was looking in my direction, the dark let me hide under their cover. He focused back on the men beside him. Those words were hushed but seeing their expression it was clear that they were pissed. So if they found me eavesdropping, I don't know whether should I run or patiently wait for them to pity me. The scarred man was clenching his teeth as he spoke something to Zeus, who calmly listened to his furious rants. As soon as the scarred man finished, Zeus turned his back on me, looking towards the moon. At this point, I don't even know if he said anything or not. However, the group of men bowed back and left.I kept looking in their direction as they walked briskly through the forest vanishing in the dark. "Spying on me?"I flinched as the hoarse voice came from behind. The warm breath fanned my ear and the masculine scent filled my

I slowly pushed myself on my arms to get up when the sudden sharp of pain hit my head. It was like tons of bricks thrown at my head. "Ahh... my head." I whimpered while holding my head. This made my mom chuckle. "Who told you to drink so much? That too on your first time. Poor Zeus had to brink your drunken ass home." She snorted And that moment, I felt everything around me stop. Then like a flash, that dream I was in shattered when I was pulled away from his arms. My vision blurred a bit but I could see those expensively manicured hands on Zeus' shoulder. The girl, whose name I still didn't know, looked at Zeus with an extra sweet smile. "What are you doing here, Zeus?" She purred. SHE LITERALLY PURRED!!! I almost wanted to laugh. Zeus's face cringed with disgust. But before he could reply, someone grabbed me from behind. It was Emily. "You okay?" Her eyes moved to see those two people standing behind me. I could almost see those gears running in her head and then she smirked. Oh boy!!!! "My head!" She shouted and then stumbled back into a grasp. Only then did I notice who it was. Was I craving for those eyes to look at me? Maybe I was. I still am. It was like a breath of fresh air. Zeus's attention on me seemed to blur everything around. The mysteries, the dead-ends, everything took a back seat.It was just me and him. Taking five more shots and gulping them down one by one, my head felt too light-headed. My body didn't feel burdened under gravity, instead, it was almost as light as the feathers. The unseen shackles holding me were now broken. I was no more bounded but free and those glowing golden orbs only tend to increase the tenacity in me.Buring me with an unknown desire. I stood up and walked to the dance floor. My forest green eyes held Zeus's attention solely to myself. My heart danced in a neverending melody. He was no longer paying attention to the fake glitters beside him. Her giggles

I was too engrossed with it." "Tell me about it." I mumbled. "So we don't know what happens next?" I nodded. Emily kept quiet and stared at the wall blankly. A few minutes passed and I kept on waiting for her but there was no change.I was going to shake her back to reality when she jumped out of the bed and looked at me with a determined face. "We are going clubbing." She smiled. It took me a few minutes to understand how she even came to that conclusion."And how is that going to help me complete the book?" "Of course, it's not going to help you." I narrowed my eyes. "Then why on earth are we going clubbing?" "To get d

  • Myth of The Broken Throne   CHAPTER 23

Astraea's POV After strolling through the forest for almost an hour, I finally found the town road. It was 6 a.m. and figuring that it probably wasn't the ideal time to greet my parents at their door, I walked toward Emily's. Her parents were out of town so I won't have to answer anyone, except Em of course. Right, Em. She did call me, I wonder why? It took me almost twenty minutes to reach the Anderson's. The entire front yard was filled with rose flowers. Emily's mother had a weird obsession with them, but of course, no one in the family could object her whether they like it or not. You really don't want to get on the bad side of Mrs. Anderson. It gets really.. dirty. I knocked on the door a few times and a sudden paddling sound came from inside. The door opened with a bang, making me flinch. A messed-up Emily stood in front of me. Her hair resembled a half-eaten haystack, the pajamas were riddled up on one side, all creased and crumpled. Her eyes were profusely red, staring at
