KELANI POV My breath came out in short gasps as I continued to run to only the goddess knew where while not letting my body touch the wall of the maze. It was really difficult to keep running in a straight line, but then, I knew that was the only way I could prevent myself from getting sucked into the wall. Wheezing, I came to a halt as I reached a dead end. Grasping both my knees, I bent, taking a staggering breath. "No," I muttered, shaking my head as the hooves of the creature got even louder. There was no escape in sight. I could as well, touch the wall of the maze and get sucked in at this point. Staring at the moon that shone even brighter, I scowled. I was a werewolf. At least, that was what everyone kept saying, but I barely felt anything. I couldn't shift. A werewolf shouldn't be scared of such a creature. LANCE POV Holding Kelani as she went limp, I narrowed my eyes at Vesper. "What the hell, man?!" I grunted before looking at Kelani. Her face was pale, and her heart rate was low. I could barely hear it. She couldn't have been that afraid, could she? Earlier, she had looked like she might pull off my head now, she looked almost lifeless. Could it have been because of the light that had shown before? It had affected me as well, but due to my quick reflex, I was fast enough to shield my eyes before it made me blind. LANCE POV I didn't know how long we had been fighting for, but no matter what we did, our attack wasn't connecting. Vesper deflected everything with ease as though we were little, pesky, annoying flies that kept disturbing his morning rest.
